The Pastaria & Market was opened in 1995 as a retail pasta shop and deli. Donna grew up within a family of Italian immigrants, and she began her culinary path inspired by her food-obsessed family and her chef grandfather. After some extended classes at the San Francisco Culinary Academy, she gained the confidence to open The Pastaria & Market on Main St in Los Gatos, a retail pasta shop specializing in fresh Italian food. After several months of strong support from the greater community, Donna could sense that changes would become. Her customers challenged her to prepare meals for takeout, asking her to put tables in so they could eat there After 10 months, she relented and a beer and wine license was added, and the fresh pasta shop was transformed into a full-service restaurant. Over the next 2 decades, The Pastaria & Market established itself as a family-run, neighbourhood-focused, family-friendly business, with a strong commitment to the Los Gatos community.

Service was friendly and very helpful. Setting on the street is not the best as cars are close as they drive by. Food was good but too salty. Overall, a good experience.

Had the spicy garlic bread, caesar salad, the walnut pesto and the mostaccioli. All of the food was tasty and well prepared! The walnut pesto was the star of the meal. The service was attentive and kind. Recommend and will repeat!

With out question, one of the best Italian restaurants in Los Gatos. The food was perfect, and the service was impeccable. We've dined at the old location several times but this new location supper nice and is now our go to Italian restaurant in the area.

Made reservations but they didn’t have a table for us, so they put together a setting down the block on the curb next to a road block. Our server was nice but had to jog back and forth between us and the restaurant. The food was ok, seating and environment not good.

The Pastaria is one of our favorite restaurants in Los Gatos. We dined outside on a warm Sunday evening. The wait staff worked especially hard to keep diners safe during Covid19.

Secured standard seats, not patio.. but we were seated in the patio regardless. Without complaint - I understand the difficulties in operating these days. We were, so far from any service table with support items that when I asked for pepper on my salad... it took 7 minutes to wander back to the dining room secure the shaker, then return.

There were only coverings on two sides of the tent - so wind blew through and it was very chilly. The propane fireplace had little effect.

It simply took too long to deliver good and service since we were located two addresses away from the restaurant. We rushed our meal to get out of the cold.

Simple steps could have solved this... covid restrictions or not..

The restaurant is now open for indoor seating as well, which is nice to see. We sat near the front of the restaurant. The selections we chose were really tasty. I ordered seafood linguini. We also had the salmon on asparagus dish and the lasagna.
We were stuffed. Our server was very attentive.
I recommend.

Best Italian food and value in the South Bay. Outside dining is nice and not too loud; with all the downtown charm of Los Gatos.

Was excited to try this place for the first time. Service was way too slow and they seemed confused. Food was just okay. Table was terrible, cold and noisy.

The highlight of our week (yes, we eat at the Pastaria that often) is our night out at The Pastaria. The staff is like family, friendly, knowledgable, efficient and fun and the food is always remarkable. The ambiance is fabulous and cozy with fire pits, lights making it a refreshing break from reality.

I've eaten at The Pastaria before, and I couldn't wait to go back! Unfortunately, it took me a couple of years due to living out of the area. Our dinner was such a disappointment. The appetizer took 30 minutes to come out, which was a bit long. We weren't too upset about that, although we had ordered it because we were so hungry. When our pasta came out, mine was perfectly flavorless. The sauce was so runny that it didn't coat the pasta at all. Pushing the pasta aside and attempting to scoop up some sauce, I found that it tasted like warm cream -- no truffle flavor at all. I resolved to simply eat the chicken. I took a bite, and could barely chew through it, it was so overcooked. My husband's dinner was so-so-- better than mine. His gnocchi were prepared well, but his sauce was also incredibly runny. I wanted to order something else, but our server did not check on us for over 20 minutes. By the time she asked us how things were, my husband was finished, and we were just ready to go home. I told her what was wrong with the dish, and she seemed to take it personally. Gratefully, the owner/manager comped my dish, but we will not return. The server, herself, said that she "eats this pasta every night," which tells me it wasn't just an "off" night (as I was hoping was the case).

So delicious! It was our first time here and we loved it. Our server was amazing and the pace of dinner was perfect... not too much down time between things (drinks, apps, mains, dessert), but did not feel rushed. We definitely will be back to enjoy again!

This was our first time dining here although I had heard good things about it. There were five of us and we all loved the choices we made. The salads were good sized and the appetizers were very good. You will not leave here hungry. Our server helped with recommendations and(I think his name was Ian) was very welcoming which helped make for a great dining experience. We will definitely be back.

The Pastaria was an excellent venue for a date night. It is a very small restaurant, and I would not recommend it for families with small children but perfect for a date. The service was just perfect and the food excellent. The small size of the restaurant and the many tables take away from the romance factor, but it was a good choice for a date none the less.

We've been going to Pasteria for many years now and we love it. For the quality that you get, it is exceptionally well priced. It's our go to place for 'special occasions' and even 'not-so-special' occasions. The wine list, though not voluminous, has selections that I like, especially some very good local wines. I am not going to say what they are because I want them to have those in stock when I come in.
