The balance of the menu is broken up into a series of meat-centric composed dishes highlighting distinctive cuts, cooking techniques, and animal breeds. The portioning encourages sampling, sharing and customizing, which allows guests to construct a completely unique dining experience with each visit.
Tremendous food and service. Restaurant week menu amazing.
Service was a bit slow. Food was good but came out not very hot.
The perfect spot for lunch. It’s delicious. Insanely delicious. It’s super affordable (especially for DC). Wait staff is top notch. Food quality is off the charts. Did I mention it’s delicious?
My new favorite go to spot.
Our first visit. Service was disappointing--too many tables for only two servers.
Tasty. Good value
Very good food. Very nice setting. Birthday dinner with friends. Service was okay but everything else was excellent. Would dine here again.
Excellent, attentive service, and delicious food. Great experience over all.
Experience did not start well when we were told that several items on the menu were no longer available. Then a couple of the ordered entrees had problems. The items were not cooked to order and were not fresh tasting. The problem items were taken off the bill, but it really should not have come to that. While the staff and manager were accommodating, it’s hard to overcome subpar food.
Great for pre-show drinks and dinner!
We arrived and were told that no seats were available due to reservations taking up all of the open tables for the night. We booked an apparently open reservation via the OpenTable app and went to the bar. The manager told us there was a discrepancy with the reservations, but that he would take care of us nevertheless...and he absolutely did. We were seated on time, he took care of our drinks, and the service was swift, attentive, and thoughtful. The food was incredible (particularly the beef fat fries and one of the rosemary salami we had). Excellent evening all around and I highly recommend the restaurant. I commend the professionalism and understanding of the manager in particular.
Savory Food. Great DC Vibe. Perfect place for drinks, lively conversation and munch on cheese & meats.
very tasty brunch- enjoyed the eggs benedict with smoked ham and pimento cheese and beef fat fries! emphasis is definitely on their meat products but there are good non-meat options too
Our go to lunch spot in DC when we visit. Really enjoy the beautiful back bar.
Good service and excellent pastrami sandwich. Steak frites very small and disappointing and Less so the burger. Worth going back to for the pastrami, but not sure about the rest.
comfortable environment, good food, low-key vibe, not an extensive menu
After arriving promptly for our reservation we still waited over an hour to be seated.
Service was great. Food was not superb. Portions small. If you like tough meat, order the ribs. We would probably only do back for drinks--good selection.
We have season tickets to Georgetown basketball games at Capitol One Center, and we've been coming here a couple times a year since The Partisan opened. The menu always offers interesting new dishes along with some old favorites. The quality of ingredients is really good (Red Apron meats are a draw in themselves), tables are comfortable, and the overall noise level is OK for conversation. We've had unfailingly good service, too. Penn Quarter has lots of good restaurant choices, but this is still the stand-out for us.
Great food and cocktails. Wait staff knowledgeable and attentive, but unimpressive host/hostess staff and ability to navigate basic logistics of the restaurant and responsiveness.
Drove about 40 minutes to restaurant and it was worth it! Food was delicious- particularly the lamb dishes and the meatballs. The baklava crumble for dessert was super yummy! Will definitely go back. Also enjoyed the ambiance. All in all, a delightful experience!
The four of us had a wonderful experience at the Partisan! The drinks were phenomenal and my favorite was the charcuterie board. Our server certainly knew exactly how to answer our questions and took great care of us!
We had an amazing Charcuterie tray with cuts selected by our server and one of the best pimento cheese appetizers I’ve had anywhere. Our server was very helpful with my gluten allergy. My entree of Wagyu steak was amazing and my husband had a gnocchi that was as authentic as if it came right out of Italy. This place is a keeper for us.
I happened to mention to the hostess that I was conducting an interview over lunch...and she thoughtfully seated me at a booth, so that I could have space for my notebook. And then she notified our server, who offered to take drink orders and then give us plenty of time to talk. Food was outstanding, but this was service like I’ve never experienced. The Partisan is the only place I will conduct lunch meetings in DC from now on.
The food was okay, but with so many good-to-great restaurants in the area, why return? There is a menu posted on the web site. I studied it in advance and settled on 3 items of interest. The printed menu didn’t resemble the online menu in any way. It was disorienting and challenging to figure out what to order. Also, some of the draft beers are served in their stemmed wine glasses, and the full pour I ordered didn’t come up to even half of the glass. The ounces might be right, but I felt shorted. There was a group in the space that was much too loud, and the loud sound affected our enjoyment.
Beautiful restaurant and friendly, helpful staff. The meat and cheese appetizer was fun to try and interesting. My dish with the pasta and meat sauce with ricotta was good but I didn’t love the texture of the meat. My husband’s steak had good flavor but a lot of fat. Fries were delicious....I know b/c I ate most of them. Our son enjoyed his burger ....but he’s not overly picky :) but it did look good. We are not alcohol drinkers so wished they had a fountain drink soda machine rather than bottled cokes. Overall a nice evening.
Excellent waiter. Really love this place.
Our server, John, was EXCELLENT! The food was good and the bourbon options were great.
The burger was as fantastic with exceptional quality beef. The best French fries!!!!
I’ve had better steak at a Chili’s. Too loud for a date, probably best to just order a burger.
Killer beer selection. Food was on point. Babette cooked perfectly. If a place known for its meat program is putting Meatballs and house made pasta in the menu, you order it. Had a bit of an awkward 2 top for a slower Friday Eve. A few fruit flies buzzing around wasn't the best, but overall very good and will be back regardless.
The food was delicious. I would go there again and try something different.
One of the best bourbon selections in the district with a good small menu.
Delicious, fresh food, really nice ambiance too.
I liked the food a lot and the drink selection is insane. I would say that I did not feel as if it was worth the price for some menu options, though
A return visit. We enjoy The Partisan. Good food, especially the charcuterie, and an excellent beer selection. Ambience in restaurant is different than in the bar, much less tumultuous.
Fabulous food, choices, cocktails and service!!
Food was incredible and staff was knowledgeable and attentive
The service was awful. The server got our drink order, and never came back. Then eventually another server took over, and the original server ended up with these loud people sitting behind us talking the whole time. The new server took so long to get us drinks, food, and our check. Then assumed that the change left over was her tip, and it was over 30% (she definitely did not deserve that much of a tip).
My husband and I visited The Partisan on our first night visiting DC. It is in a pretty central location to a majority of the rest of the monuments and notable buildings, and our hotel was nearby, so we were able to walk to the restaurant.
We were about 20 minutes early for our reservation, so the hostess let us sit at the bar for a little. We ordered a charcuterie plate, and, because it took a little time, they were kind enough to make sure to transfer it to our table when we were seated.
The interior of the restaurant is soothing and dark, if a little noisy. Since it is a small space, you are seated very close to other tables, but you are not uncomfortable.
The drinks were delicious, a nice healthy pour. They are a little pricy, but it worth the cost. We loved the charcuterie plate. If we had ordered another couple meats and cheeses, it would have been more than enough for dinner. However, we ordered the kale and mushroom salad, the steak, and the papparadelle for dinner to share. AND that was plenty of food. My husband and I were stuffed. We did not particularly like the kale and mushroom salad, it was a little too bitter, but everything else was excellent.
Great food! Such a fun place to get small plates and share with friends. We tried a bit of everything and it was all delicious
