About The Parson's Table

Not only can you get a juicy roast prime rib at The Parson"s Table, but you can eat it inside a church, too. The location remains very much the same structure that it was in 1885, when Little River Methodist Church was built. The cherished establishment first opened its church doors as a restaurant in the late 1970's and has been serving exquisite American steakhouse fare ever since. The restaurant's decor is positively Southern-charm antique, complete with dark wooden walls, stained glass windows and an original Tiffany glass lamp in the main dining room. An award winning wine list graces The Parson's Table as well as an outstanding fresh seafood selection.

Went with our neighbors.....The ladies both had small filets wrapped with bacon...both women said they were good......Our guest thought the bearnaise sauce was not up to snuff.....Dinner special of a bone in Pork chop cooked with teriyaki and soy and honey with a mushroom sauce was superb.....I had the prime rib......it was done to perfection and very tasty........Service was excellent

The Parson’s Table is a hidden gem. The building is warm and welcoming. The food is excellent from start to finish. Whether you take advantage of the early bird specials or regular menu, the prices are reasonable.

Food and especially specials are great. We have been here three times with the same group and have always been sat at the same table with the same server. This amuses me. The server is named Kendra and is the quintessential awesome server. She is funny, honest, and attentive.

Thanksgiving Special 🦃
The turkey was so tender and juicy. The sides were good but I would rather had double mashed potatoes.
Green beans 🤗 and Dressing was so good. Best I've had in a very long time... I would have asked for more but the servers were so busy.
I watched the owner watching our server and he is in charge. He should have more experienced wait staff working or available. From 5:30 - 6:30 (which is dinner hour) they were tripping over each other in time, rhythmic.
. Fault falls in the Management.

The table in the little room to the right was horrid. The people at the nect table to us were angry loud and old. We heard everything from colonoscopy issues to why the lady had been kicked out of her bridge club. As if her loud and obnoxious manurisms were not self ecplanatory....the French wine was also questionable. Who can mess up French wine...? Anyway the Chaple part of the building is nice try to be seated in there maybe tne noice level will not be so intrusive.

The dining room where we were seated was very warm to the point of being uncomfortable. The only relief came when the dining room was nearly deserted. The meal started with an assortment of Pepperidge Farm crackers and butter which was surprising for a restaurant with this reputation. The crackers were soft due to the humidity and heat. The duck breast entree had a much too sweet raspberry sauce. We will not return.

We had a filet and 2 crab cakes. The filet was good but it wasn't melt in your mouth tender. The crab cake was pretty good. They actually serve alot of pre dinner food. First cheese and crackers. Second, cornbread and rolls, third, a great mixed salad with dressing. Overall, the restaurant is excellent with rustic ambiance and an attentive staff. Katie was our server. She is excellent!

4 of us for dinner. All of us (and the table next to us, too) raved about our dinners. From appetizers, through hand tossed salad, dinner and dessert. A-1. Will definitely be going back and recommending to all our friends.

Busy when we got there (we had a 7:15 reservation), but seated immediately. Only glitch was waiting about 8 minutes until our waitress stopped by to introduce herself and get us some water. Kimmy did a fabulous job after that. Great wine, cocktails, complimentary cheese and crackers, and bread basket (although we did not eat any of it). All three of us had the prime rib. It was prepared to order. Only issue was the crust was very salty, but the rest of the meat was fine. We have been going to Parson's Table when we are in MB for over 15 years now, so very familiar with their lovely decor and menu. The desserts were killer (all made in house). The amaretto cheesecake (huge portion), key lime pie (not so big portion), and the chocolate mousse were all hits. It can be noisy in the smaller rooms depending on the diners, and we did have a group of three that were rather loud in their conversation, but we just tuned them out. We were there until after 9pm and did not have any issues with staff sweeping, cleaning, or making us feeled rushed as I have seen posted in several recent reviews.

Everything was really nice at The Parson’s Table, until the end. Our server Cattie was excellent; very attentive, sweet, friendly, and professional. I had 2 different wines from the wine featured list and both were very nice, the tasting notes were spot on. The food was lovely as well and my mom and I had a great time, that is until the neighboring server’s 2 tables left and she proceeded to VERY noisily clean her section. Banging chairs, silverware, sweeping first with a broom (gross! Dirt in our wine/food much?!) then with a noisy sweeper. This was at 9:30 pm. While as a career server/bar manager I totally understand wanting to get out of work ASAP this type of thing is so rude and off putting. As soon as we received our entrees to have the music shut off, the aggressive sweeping inches from our food, the kitchen music turned up, bleach smell in the air from everyone cleaning? Totally not ok. The ambiance was ruined and we just felt like we shld leave. Again, our own server was really sweet, and the place was nice, but an ending like that leaves a bad feeling and doesn’t make you want to come back. If it was 11pm I wld be a little more understanding but 9:30? Come on.

Love the venue.....antiques and stain glass everywhere. The service was excellent..friendly and knowledgeable about the menu options. The food was delicious. What might have been an unfortunate thing was they had no amaretto cheesecake left for dessert and we had to settle for chocolate pecan pie!! It was delicious! What a fantastic evening at The Parson’s Table.

My wife and I had the best time, the food was delicious. If I had any criticism at all, it would be more choice on salad dressing would be good. Also the rolls were great, but I though the cornbread was to sweet. This in no way will stop my wife and I from dining there again I would come back just for the fried green tomatoe plate. Thanks Gary & Sandi

we have been to this restaurant 15-20 times. this last time my wife tried a
new to her shrimp appetizer with soy sauce. the waitress asked how our food was and my wife said it was a little salty. the waitress offered to have it exchanged for another or cooked again without the soy sauce but my wife said no it was her fault for ordering it but they took off the price of that from our bill anyway.

One of our very favorite restaurants on the Grand Strand, Parsons Table has it all-- great food, ambience, service. Only suggestion is not to over-order; whenever we have ordered soup (which is always delicious) before our main meal, we are over-stuffed for finishing our main meal. Otherwise, enjoy!

We dine here every time spend time at our place in SC. A lovely setting with all the stained glass windows and a fine dining yet still casual atmosphere set this place apart from most of the restaurants here at the beach. Food is always excellent, especially the seafood dishes, nice wine list with selections at several price points, suggested wine or beer pairings for different dishes. My church bulletin always has a Parson's Table ad in it with a coupon, so that's a nice saving. Service was slow on our last visit (or is it just my NYC sense of time not translating well to SC?). While we were still finishing our meals, a member of the waitstaff was cleaning and carpet-sweeping the adjacent dining area. It would have been nice if she had waited until we and another party in the same dining room had finished. Otherwise, love this place and look forward to coming back again.

While the food is excellent and we have eaten there many times, this time the service was terrible. We had an 8 o'clock reservation and got seated right away, but our food didn't arrive until 9:30. They also ran out of rolls and had corn bread instead, which I'm not fond of and sent back. We had to ask the server to bring our salads after waiting at least 45 minutes after we had ordered and also had to ask where our food was and was told that the 'kitchen was slammed and we'd have to wait'.
