Absolutely terrible management. Manager became belligerent when their failure to note that a dessert contained tree nuts caused me an allergic reaction. When we recommended they put “contains nuts” on the menu she went so far as to say “if they listed all their ingredients the menu would be 20 pages long”, “she wasn’t legally obligated to”, and “get out of her restaurant.” Completely inexcusable. This place can’t go out of business fast enough.
I’ve been going to the Park for years. We always loved it. But not this time. It was terrible service. The worst manager ever. We will not come back and we will make sure everyone we know will find out about this most unfair evening.
Took my now fiance here before proposing in the Highline above. The restaurant was gorgeous and the food was to die for! Ambiance of the place is amazing. Would definitely recommend the pizza and the red sangria.
The food was absolutely terrible. I have never gone to a restaurant and had a meal that was actually BAD until I came to The Park. The pesto risotto was so bad, I couldn't eat it. My boyfriend got a burger and didn't like it either. The waiter didn't even ask us how our meal was. DO NOT eat here. Save your money. I will not be returning and will be telling everyone I know to never eat here.
We had a great server and a very pleasant experience. Food was good and prices reasonable
Great food. Great value. Great service. Our server, Jamie, was great. We never had to look for her. She was right there to refill water glasses and to see if we needed anything.
Had dinner here for my 21st birthday and our waitress was super nice and knowledgeable about the menu! Very energetic and positive attitude. I wish I remembered her name! She has brown hair and glasses. The restaurant was so beautiful and the food was delicious. Will definitely be back!
If you don’t mind apathetic service where the server complains to you that you were seated by the hostess in their area, this is fine. I do like the atmosphere and you get left alone A LOT by staff; again, good if you want to have an easy conversation w friends. Just don’t be in any hurry.
Our waitress was very nice, helpful and attentive. The guy at the front desk was plain rude, he should not working in the service industry, he clearly does not like people. The WiFi did not work either, which was a problem for us as we very traveling and needed to look things up, and there was no interest from the staff to assist us. Food was good quality though.
Great spot! Enjoyed the food and the service
Nothing exciting, slow service, better tasting food out of a can and perhaps the desserts are out of a box...this place needs help big time in the flavor department!
Always wanted to check out The Park because of the fantastic patio area. We waited an hour + for food after our waitress vanished mid meal never to be seen again. Food was ok not great, definitely not worth an hour wait. Such a bummer that such an adorable space is lacking due to service! Honorable mention to bus staff for picking up on what happened and salvaging the night.
If you like sitting and dinning in a bird sanctuary, then this place is for you! I would never go back and sit in the patio. It was SO loud with birds!
Beautiful place and great location
It was great. Food was good. Cocktails and sodas are small for the price. But beers are good. The inside was beautiful!
Our server was friendly but not as attentive, we sat by the garden and the noise from the street to the music plus other peoples conversation made it hard for our group to have a decent conversation. The food was underwhelming, the burger bun wss stale, the Margherita pizza had one lonely basil in the middle that seemed like it was just a cheese pizza with one basil as a garnish, everything was room temperature when it was served. We took a chance even if the reviews we saw online were mixed but mostly on the negative side but we now understand why.
Overall it was good service, good drinks and food. The best thing about this place is the ambiance.
We had reservations for 13 people, 9 of us were on time, but the restaurant made us wait because they wanted to have all 13 people there before giving us a table. The restaurant should be a little bit more flexible with this policy.
This restaurant used to be a more fine dining experience but they have definitely changed their entire dynamic. The wait staff wears polo shirt now... hello TGIFridays. All that aside, the food is completely not worth the trip here. The crab cakes are undoubtedly frozen food (extremely tiny as in dollar quarter sized) the charcuterie tray is the saddest looking board I’ve ever seen (when they tell you there are 3 meats and 2 cheeses be prepared to have 2 cheese wedges that are 2-3 inches in length and an inch in diameter and 3 tiny pieces of meat). I brought my work colleagues here who all work in the hospitality industry and they were incredibly underwhelmed. Not to mention when we arrived they told us they weren’t cooking pizzas (there goes a quarter of their menu).
So, I had such a great experience with one group of friends a few weeks ago, I brought another group of friends from out of town and was SO unhappy. First time we sat in the garden room, terrific atmosphere, open air, the food was terrific, the waitress was engaging! This past week, I made reservations, specifically requested the Garden Room. The hostess could have cared less about the request, just said there was no way she could seat us in that open air room. We asked if we could wait for it, she said our waiting was making her nervous, and suggested we wait in the side bar area. After 30 minutes, post reservation time, we gave up. She the seated us in the furthest corner boot, where the waiters were running behind us barking orders to the bar all night. The food was really dry and overall not very good. It was such a completely different exerience from the lunch experience. Manager needs to figure out the staffing differnce between shifts or whatever the other issues are in the evening. I COULD really like this place, location and menu are great, but really didn't this last time... at all!!
My family and I went to celebrate our daughter’s graduation; the place is really nice - it looks like a garden in the heart of Chelsea. Service is very good and fast; we had time to have a nice walk on the Highline, Park which is just across 10th Ave
The park is a Great place to have dinner and a drink with friends. The whole place is really cool and the food is tasty!
Seated promptly. Great garden space - loved the ambiance! Shared calamari and mussels - very good. Drinks were great. Shared the salmon burger, salad and side order of fries, and the fries were great! Decent portions but not giant. Attentive service. Will definitely go back.
It was nice family place, moderately priced, good service, fast order to table plates.
The atmosphere of this restaurant is amazing! It looks so cosy and warm. Even though you’re in the middle of New York, you feel like you’re sitting outside in a beautiful park. The employees were really kind and made us feel welcome.
The food was fine. We ordered a pizza and burgers. The pizza was very good, but the burger plates were a bit disappointing. The taste was good, but the “design” of the plate was minimal, especially compared to the ambiance of the restaurant.
Overall, it is a great restaurant to spend a lovely evening with friends and/or family!
The location is great and atmosphere was fun but terrible service and poor food. We never were given a waiter and I had to get a manager to take our order.
Good food - the calamari was delicous, crab appetizer was to much filler not enough crab. Entrees:
salmon good but small portions
Lamb ragout /pasta good but small portion
Short rib burger juicy cooked right and delicious
Drinks are overpriced-drink at the bar at Happy hour its cheaper
Server forgot about us handed us a dessert menu before we received our dinners
Service was slow
Poor food. Good ambiance
Setting us lively...food was good (not great)...& service was “spotty” at best.
It took 90 minutes to get our iced tea served. 30 minutes to get our ordered to begin with. Food was just OK, nothing special.
We were looking for an outdoor venue for dinner and found the listing. Arrived to a very chic restaurant with semi-outdoor space (it's covered with open front) - very cool. The noise level was off the charts.. We asked to sit in front of the doors - which helped with the noise level and it felt more outdoors. My young son, husband and I then saw a car at the stop light hurl a full water bottle into the restaurant whizzing by and spraying water. Luckily no one was hurt.
Our server was extremely lovely and helpful. However, my son's and husband's food arrived and mine did not. It finally arrived when they had finished theirs. The pizza was taken off the bill which was a nice gesture.
Not sure we need to go back :(
Nothing special... not very hospitable hostesses... mediocre food... mediocre service... not very accommodating
Everything from the Bar area to the dinner sitting area was Beautiful. The food, Stesk, pizza, mussels, calamari, swordfish (yes we were Hungry) was Extremely tasteful. Services was great.
Somewhat limited menu, but otherwise excellent food and very good service. Cleanliness could use some work as could seating since more people wanted al fresco dining than was available.
The food was very good, I had the prosciutto and arugula pizza. The service was equally as good. I was dining alone and did not feel that I was forgotten. As an added bonus, I was witness (with the rest of the restaurant) to a marriage proposal (she said yes). I really enjoyed my meal and will be recommending The Park to my friends.
4.1 rating, beautiful ambiance (IF you’re seated in the room with greenery and not the main area), and an interesting menu - what could go wrong? Pretty much all of it. We were seated 15 minutes after our reservation only to find tons of available seating throughout the two rooms. The menu and cocktails looked great but ended up tasting like something you’d get at a 2 star bar. The pizza was undercooked, the other food was too fried, and the cocktails tasted like pure alcohol.
The whole experience was most excellent! We chose to sit in the garden, with its chirping bird and beautiful trees. Our waiter was attentive and rolled with our unorthodox food orders. There were three of us. We had decided to share everything we ordered and we ordered one dish at a time. This allowed us to enjoy each dish and gave us more room on the table. To start a pitcher of white sangria and the prosciutto and arugula wood oven pizza, delicious. Next was the fried calamari, yum followed by the chef’s selection of artisanal meats and cheeses, my personal favorite and another pitcher of sangria. Thinking that we should get some kind of veggie in our feast we ordered the Tuscan kale salad. Our final dish was the garganelli lamb ragout. With full bellies we reluctantly didnt order dessert. Maybe next time we’ll forgo the salad and leave room for dessert.
Ambience and decor nice. Service good. But food nothing special. Burger and fries looked like it came from an average diner. Come to impress visitors (maybe).
You absolutely go to The Park for the ambiance. It is a beautiful space. The food is just ok, nothing spectacular or exciting. The service was good and attentive and the hostesses were very nice as well. Would definitely go back but just for an early evening drink instead of dinner. Too many other places with truly outstanding food in this city!
We loved the atmosphere and the open space. Our server was amusing and amazing.
