Now that Landry's has taken over the Palm, the restaurant isn't the same. The menu items are different and frankly not as good as my previous visits. At this visit, although certain items were no longer on the menu, the kitchen did their best to recreate them which was really impressive. We had the lamb which really didn't have a lot of flavor and that was surprising. It was also quite odd the restaurant was hardly busy (3 tables were occupied) and the host put new diners literally right next to us when the restaurant was largely empty. We asked to be moved which was inconvenient but we just weren't comfortable being on top of other people if it wasn't necessary. The bar drinks were good and so were the desserts. I think it's going to take more work from Landry's to get back up to the level of the Palm from days past.

This is our "go to" place for an upscale meal and great dining experience.
My husband loves the veal, and they go out of their way to prepare it milanese style. If I don't order that, I get a lobster.
Steakhouses are known for the substantial cocktails, and the Palm has an extensive wine list at all price points.
I recommend The Palm.

We had a bad experience here 7 years ago and decided to try it again. We spent almost 300$ and:
-It took 2 hours for two people to eat
-We saw our waiter three times across that timeframe (nobody ever asked how the food was or if we needed anything)
-The steak was fine- subpar in comparison to other steak levels at that price a point
-We were accidentally charged for something we didn’t order

We recognize it’s Thanksgiving but the food and service was lackluster, while the price is $$$$. This has solidified we will not return here and hopefully someone else contemplating going here will see this...

I ordered my steak medium, and the middle was almost raw. For the price, it should have been cooked perfectly.

I’ve been to other Palm branches across the country multiple times for everything from solo lunches to hosting multiple large corporate dinner events and had great experiences. But the The Palm Boston falls well short of expectations. The food quality just isn’t there, and there are too many other steakhouses within walking distance of this place for it to be so subpar and to get by with it. It was at 10-20% capacity on a Friday night and I can understand why.

At least eight other steakhouses (Smith & Wollensky, Mastro’s, Davio’s, Ocean Prime, Morton’s, Del Friscso’s, Ruth’s Chris, and Eddie Merlot’s) are all within a 5-15 minute stroll. And we left The Palm wishing we’d gone to one of them.

The appetizers were good, but the food overall was cold: the bread had a chill, the creamed spinach was lukewarm, and the hash browns were for sure reheated.

The potatoes had this hard, plasticky texture like they’d been cooked, stored (for a while) then reheated. And this was supposed to be one of their signature items.

It’s totally unacceptable at any price point, let alone at this level.

The steak was trimmed very badly. I can’t remember when I’ve had such a poorly trimmed piece of meat at a steakhouse. There were tough, inedible bits all around this $75 steak, and the menu didn’t mention it was going to be bone-in. I’ve never not finished my steak before, but I barely got through half of this one.

The service was a bright spot. The team worked seamlessly together and things happened quickly. No matter who we asked for something, the answer was always “Yes, of course.”

Chris was overwhelmed with his tables. The service was sub par. 20 minutes into seating we had to ask for water. We had to ask for dessert because it was not offered. I asked for medium and my steak came out medium rare. The servers were not attentive at all. I will not return and I would not recommend. With this caliber restaurant you should automatically have great service. It was poor and dry.

Pros:
good drinks
Beautiful ambiance
Valet parking
Family style sides
Good food

We have been going to The Palm since it opened...for celebrations, with family, friends.
Now that it is part of Landry's we have seen the changes.

We went to celebrate my birthday and they didn't even acknowledge us. It was very busy so service was a little off.
All the attention to detail that The Palm was known for, has been diminished.
However, the food is still great.

Food was decent. Service was slow and terrible. Our waiter barely showed up and knocked over a wine glass, there was white chunks in our water, and we were overcharged for our food. The bathroom stall also had writing on the walls. Such a shame.

The Palm is always a fan favorite for office social events. In this case, we had a moderately sized lunch gathering. The service was perfect and the food delicious. Our server made sure everything was timely and even had our check ready right when we asked for it.

Great location, great atmosphere, great service. But the food was kind of iffy. Gigi salad was great, Tomahawk Ribeye was a disappointment, and our medium rare got sent back because it was raw. Too bad. Was really looking forward to this, but left disappointed.

The ambiance and service at the Palm was outstanding - our server was exceptional and she did everything she could to make our experience a good one. However, we were disappointed that the Palm was rated as one of the best places for steak in Boston and that was definitely not the case. Our steaks and no char, were not very flavorful and just not the quality we expected based on both recommendations and reviews. I would equate the quality and flavor of our steak as what I would expect from a basic level chain restaurant and not one from a high end dining establishment.

I used to like palm but lately I can’t justify it anymore due to the lack of value. The food is kind of blah. The steak tartar was tough and tasteless. The chicken parmigiana was not as good as mine and the cheese they use is salty. Everything is salty. Also relax for Christ sake over the masks already. If you’re that paranoid shut it down.

It was great too see some old faces again.

Some things to think about for the future:

1. The restaurant should bring back the valet parking and bring back some of the items on the original menu.

I ordered the Linguine With Clam Sauce. The chef should make the dish with smaller clams. The management was very accommodating and took the dish off the bill and provided an alternative.

The service was very good.

My third disappointing visit to The Palm in a row. I will not be returning.

While the service was fine the food was not.

My medium-rare burger came to the table well done. This was returned to the kitchen

A subsequent burger was properly cooked but by the time the replacement arrived my dining companion's burger was cold!

Neither my dining companion nor I liked our burgers and are unable recommend the burgers.

There are many better steak houses in the local.

For a far better burger in Boston's Waterfront; Smith and Wollenski and LoLa Burger have far better faire and usually great service.

We have not visited The Palm since it relocated to the financial district. The decor was very well done and the staff was extremely accommodating.

What we didn't expect is the price point on some of the items to be 15 to 20% higher than similar menus in Boston and Palm Beach area such as the Capital Grill. The per person cost was about $112 for an adult party of eight with only three having cocktails.

Unfortunately the pricing didn't reflect the value in the food as the stakes were good but not great and the veal chop parmesan was overdone .

I don't normally give poor reviews but unfortunately I struggled with paying $1000 + for food that was only just okay

I love The Palm and have been there many times prior to the pandemic. This was the first time since and it was great except for the steaks themselves. Everything else was top notch including the service, but both steaks were below average and far below the high standard previously set by The Palm. I truly hope this was just a bad night and not a change in quality somehow resulting from the change in ownership.

Decor is beautiful, waiter was decent food was meh!
Way overpriced fir the quality you receive and most if the poor quality was in the preparation or lack thereof. I do blame the waiter for serving us coffee that was lukewarm and old. Would never go back, ever!

It was our third visit there and the food and service are consistently good! Two of us had the Wedge salad and one had the Gigi salad. All of them were large salads and delicious!
I had the lamb and was surprised by how many ribs there were on the plate. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. One person had the Chilean Sea Bass that he had the last time and found it just as delicious as the first time. The third person had a seafood dish ( sorry, can’t remember what it was called), but it had Clams, shrimp, scallops and lobster in a marinara sauce. She said it was divine and will be dreaming about it for quite awhile. I’m thinking of having that the next time we visit Boston. Yes, we intend on returning to The Palm! The service was great as it was the last two times we dined there, ( but it was a weekday, so it wasn’t very busy)but the staff has always been very personable and efficient.
The prices are $$$$, but to be expected for a fine Steak and Seafood restaurant and won’t stop us from returning. We are from out of town, and did not have “fancy” attire, but they aren’t a stuffy establishment and made us feel welcomed nonetheless.
Thank you The Palm Boston for another delightful experience.

We did the power lunch and everything was excellent and really good, very tasty. This was my first time here. A few things however I did not like.

1. we saw bread baskets on other tables and were not offered any
2. I was never asked for a refill on my soda and would have liked one
3. the waiter assumed we wanted a second bottle of sparkling water and never asked, then charged us another $19 for it
4. it was not busy at all, the server was nice but had no real care for our visit and seemed uninterested in our table, he made no suggestions, was very blah and disappointing for a high end restaurant. nice person but almost felt like fast food as we felt incredibly rushed
5. desserts to go took a very long time two people had to leave so I took care of the bill.

Our bill was $150 with tip for 3 people so we spent quite a bit for a lunch. Food was amazing, service could have been ten times better.
