Walking back from the North End one day, a colleague remarked on the architecture at International Place. I knew that The Palm was there, so I suggested that we try it out for lunch one day. This restaurant is in an exceptionally beautiful space in an exceptionally beautiful building. The food was very good (we just had salads and bread), and the service was efficient and professional. Opentable gives The Palm 4 dollar signs, but I was impressed with how economical a choice it was for lunch. When we walked in, I thought it might be too noisy for conversation, but we did not find it so in our booth. On the way out to tour the building's lobby, we passed the very inviting bar area. If I were in Boston at one of the waterfront hotels for business, I would definitely dine at that bar.
Excellent -the Bacon Appetizer was to DIE for! The service was excellent the food was amazing and they even discounted the appetizers for us!! Outstanding!!!!
Great food and atmosphere. Service is always outstanding
Great time. The food was awesome.
We love The Palm Restaurant especially Boston! Great service and great food. Very comfortable restaurant.
Food and service was great
Thank you to the Palm and our server, Stephanie for making our experience fantastic! Stephanie has taken care of us before and always goes out of her way to help make the dining experience wonderful. Steaks were amazing and we are also impressed with the gluten free offerings. Look forward to returning!
Lunch at the Palm is always reliable and excellent, particularly for business meals in the area. Its lunch salad options are delicious, healthy and generous; the Seared Ahi Tuna is a favorite. A lovely environment in which to relax, debrief and have a civilized conversation with great food!
My husband and I recently went for my husband's birthday. The food was outstanding. The 3 cheese potato augratin was the best potato dish I have ever had. Staff was all very pleasant and attentive. Our waitress was not as attentive as we would have liked. Very personable but questioned me when I purchased what turned out to be the most expensive bottle of wine on the menu not once but twice. I assured her it was the bottle I wanted. I found that a bit annoying. There were a couple of other small incidents of waiting for utensils and checking on us but overall would highly recommend this restaurant. Food was amazing and we were not rushed at all.
Very intimate crowd, extremely attentive waitress
This is not my type of restaurant. Music was geared towards 20 somethings and it was very loud. It was Valentine's Day and I was expecting to be able to converse with my husband. I asked the manager to change the music and he said he couldn't because it was a "corporate decision". Finally we were moved to the patio where it was cold even with the heaters blasting at us. I really liked our server and she stayed with us through the entire meal. The main dining space is too noisy for us and too over the top. We were give a gift card otherwise I don't think we would have picked your "corporate" restaurant.
Food was amazing, service was tremendous, would definitely come back and recommend to others
Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff was very nice and attentive
One of the best experiences I've had In a while, absolutely love the restaurant I would eat there once a week if it wasn't like almost $300 for two people to eat
Quality of meat is going down.
Service was great/ high-end, very attentive but the food wasn't anything special for me. The chicken on my caesar salad was dry and pretty flavorless. Has the somewhat-pretentious financial district business lunch service you'd expect in the area though.
the lobster bisque was spicy "flavored with cayenne" it was returned for clams casino;
the booth we were in felt cramped with us sitting across from each other;
the bread basket was fine and flavorful but it was COLD;
again picky items but which detract from the otherwise excellent meal.
Fabulous service with outstanding food! Kristen catered to our every whim and Jamie is the perfect host- happy birthday to him!
Best Palm I have ever been to
I have been to the Palm in NYC and the Palm in Las Vegas. I never expected the Palm Boston to be so mediocre. The bartender was very nice during our cocktails. The table waitress was terrible. She had an attitude. Barely showed she cared and was inattentive. She left empty dirty dishes in front of us while another person in our party was working on their steak for 20 minutes. The salmon was not very good, not only poorly done, it was small for the price and caliber of restaurant. The filet mignon and 32 oz prime rib were very good. The side dishes were also very good. We were there for a birthday. While there was a birthday card on the table, they didn't even acknowledge it with a piece of cake. Unfortunately the experience did not measure up to the beef. Especially spending $130 ppl. I recommend finding other steak houses in town.
Took my daughter for her birthday, and it was absolutely fantastic from the moment we walked in and sat at our table.
Incredibly attentive staff... and the food was perfect , as always!
My mother Birthday became more special at the Palm Boston. Kristen our waitress did amazing job and made everyone feel special and welcome. The food was great and served in timely fashion. Even the hostess was very nice and welcoming especially to my little five year old. Great experience that will be repeated again for sure.
Great ambiance . Great drinks. Food is very similar to most high end restaurants in the greater Boston area. I have 2 criticisms about the palms. 1 are crab legs supposed to be cold?
Our waitress was awful. Slow. Inattentive and truly zero personality. Honestly my wife and I wanted to enjoy our night. We ordered drinks and wanted to take our time and enjoy. The palms was not particularly busy at the time. Any way I think our waitress server asked us on 2 occasions if we were ready to order. Both times we had said not yet. On the third time I think her words were ‘ so are you guys ready to order yet?’ We were not impressed. We typically tip in the 25 to 30 percent range however this time I left 15 percent with a note at the bottom “awful service”. I hope she got the message. Please go and enjoy hopefully this was an isoltead incident. Too bad for a first time visit.
Our server Gregory was outstanding. Very attentive, but not rushing us. He was great and engaging with our kids. The food was outstanding.
I rated the food as 3 stars because, although my wife's prime rib was excellent, my 14 oz. NY Sirloin flavor was less than I would expect, and it was more like 10 oz, (and I realize that meat shrinks when cooked)
Had the Cobb salad, lettuce was yellow and the steak on top was poor quality.
Great place for lunch. Best Chicken Parm.
Went there for dinner on Saturday night and had a great experience. The service was outstanding in every way, thought the menu was outstanding, and the food simply great. Steaks were especially good. Wine list was also A+. I would certainly recommend it to all. It truly is a great dinner experience in the evening, wonderful atmosphere.
Will definitely go back again, for sure.
Food was good and service was good for the most part. It took too long to bring our salad and then they brought out our main meal before we finished our salad. Frustrating. They did comp the salad but nonetheless frustrating.
décor is the inside of a mausoleum, with very high ceilings, and very dim lighting. Noisy, with some music that belongs in a sports bar, not a "fine restaurant".
view is of the traffic getting into one of our finest Boston tunnels...
soup of the day was chicken noodle; filet mignon looked good but had no taste, other than that of flour; creamed spinach was all cream, with a couple of shreds of spinach lost in the mix.
service was average and without any finesse (other than the host/hostess at reception who were very friendly and welcoming/professional).
Having the wait staff congregate for 5 minutes a few feet away from the table (s) while they check their phones is NOT entertaining....
This is not on par with other Palms I have visited.
Manager needs to tighten up that ship....
First time there, but not the last. Great atmosphere with large windows, outstanding service (thanks Stephanie) and excellent food. A bit pricey, but well with it. We will definitely be going back on our next visit to Boston.
Really disappointed that at a Friday business lunch for four they were out of some key menu items not too mention little things like serving a double espresso in a standard coffee mug?
It was amazing. My server went above and beyond. Would recommend to anyone.
New Years Eve
The Palm was fun, an ok wine list, I had the surf and turf , my lobster and fillet mignon were both a bit over cooked. Overall though I would go back it was a very fun vibe.
The food here is always very good to excellent. Great ambiance and very experienced servers.
Enjoyed everything, except the Donut holes they were so heavily fried, they were terrible.
The Highest and the Lowest (sorta)
Lowest - Our server left in the middle of service without saying a word. So for 20 minutes I was keeping my eye out for him.
Highest - I reached out to a passing server and asked her to to send our waiter over since I had been waiting for some time and wanted some coffee. She immediately said she’d get it and said she’d also try to get some cookies which we had requested. There weren’t any cookies so she ran next door and got some from Starbucks. Unsolicited. At her own initiative. Impressive.
Just OK - but I would NOT include this place in a list of high-end steak houses for the Boston area.
