The Palm Boston Ratings and Reviews
The Highest and the Lowest (sorta)
Lowest - Our server left in the middle of service without saying a word. So for 20 minutes I was keeping my eye out for him.
Highest - I reached out to a passing server and asked her to to send our waiter over since I had been waiting for some time and wanted some coffee. She immediately said she’d get it and said she’d also try to get some cookies which we had requested. There weren’t any cookies so she ran next door and got some from Starbucks. Unsolicited. At her own initiative. Impressive.
Always a great dining experience and servers are best around. One common issue.......I realize this location has 20' ceilings and there is a lot of glass. However, we frequent this location more in the winter than summer (Christmas, NYE, Valentine's Day) and even with a sweater or button down shirt, I have actually been tempted to put my down coat on during dinner. My wife, son and I enjoyed dinner on Christmas Eve but all three of us were freezing. We'll live but you'd like to drop $500 on dinner for 3 with tip and be comfortable.
We had terrible service from start to finish. We sat for a long time without anyone coming to the table. We had to ask the first waitperson we saw for drink service. Then we waited an extremely long time to order lunch. We again had to look for someone to take our order. My chicken caesar salad had no chicken. After 15 minutes someone brought my chicken on a side plate and the chicken was very undercooked. We had to search for someone to pay the bill. The manager came over to apologize but said he had no excuse for us. It would have gone a long way if he had offered a drink or dessert, but he didn’t. Unfortunately, not a good experience.
Fabulous meal, pretty what you expect from a restaurant like this.
Waiter was outstanding very informative without be pushy, very attentive. Great Christmas atmosphere and buzz without be too loud. Waiter informed us of New Years Eve menu and this restaurant be came a real option.
Coconut Scallop app was perfect and with a few more scallops it would have been a great meal. My new fav now. Steaks New York Strip and a Waygu Rib-eye cooked perfect and delicious.
It's in the Financial District a very short walk from the Boston Harbor or Intercontinental hotels. Again fabulous meal premium price but well worth it. Can't wait to return.
I think Sunday is the perfect time to come here. It's busy enough to keep the staff engaged, and both kitchen and waitstaff have the time to tend to each table with the attention necessary to deliver a quality dining experience. Other than the waitress forgetting to order our side dish of brussel sprouts, service was fine.
Crab cocktail was excellent... salads were great. Hadn't had the veal parmigiana in years and was in the mood... very good. Was passed on the lobster tonight, although the 3lb+ lobsters are the biggest highlight here.
While I don't believe the Boston Palm merits a spot in the top tier of Boston steak places, it was perfect for a mellow Sunday night dinner.
This restaurant is in the lobby of my office building and I have dined there several times. The food is usually good, however, on this last occasion, it was amazing. I ordered a huge steak, which was served sliced and piping hot, the potatoes au gratin, and the creamed spinach. My colleague and I split everything and we had tons of leftovers. The steak was cooked to perfection and the sides were the best I have had. I have eaten at many of the steak houses in Boston and I must say that this was the best I've eaten, without a doubt! I'm not sure of the consistency of the food, or if there is a new chef, but definitely the best steak (and the best sides) I've ever had!!
I am a member of the 837 club and received a birthday gift certificate for a 3 pound lobster we opted for a porterhouse steak for 2 , the gigi salad, and the brussel sprouts and it was delicious. The service has improved at this location and we will be back soon. Thanks.
Food was ok but Service was horrible, we waited at least 20 min when we were sat down to receive our drinks and they were very slow. This lack of service continued throughout the meal. On a good note the water attendant/bus boy was on point making sure that our waters were full and our plates were cleared. He waited on us more then the waitress. I guess the experience always depends on who gives it to you. This time it sucked!!!
This was our first trip to The Palm in Boston and it will definitely not be our last. Each and every item we ordered was fantastic. The steaks were all cooked perfectly. We had both the cheesy potatoes and the goat cheese mashed potatoes. We didn't lick the bowls, but had we been at home we might have. Our desserts of creme brulee and key lime pie were great additions to our fabulous meal. I am grateful there are Palm restaurants across the US. I hope they are all as good as this one in Boston. The service should not be overlooked either. Everyone was highly professional. Would recommend this location without hesitation.
Great location with excellent service. Food is always good and it makes for a great business lunch. They are time conscious if you need to be done in an hour. Can be pricey but lunch options are very reasonable. It can get noisy at times but still not terrible from a noise perspective. I eat here every couple of months and keep coming back.
Every time My wife and I go to The Palm. The food, the service, and the total package is outstanding. Tonight we went there to celebrate my wife’s birthday as just a couple and The Palm did not disappoint in any way. Please keep them in mind when going out for any special occasion meal because nothing is better. Great steaks, seafood, and deserts. Try the carrot cake you will fall in love with it!!!
We visited the Palm in celebration of my sons birthday. We were so pleased when we got to our table that it was decorated with sparkles and a card with my sons name on it. It meant so much to him and made him feel so special. The service was phenomenal From start to finish and the food was delicious. I loved that we were not rushed through our meal yet we were attended to so well. Overall, I couldn't ask for a better evening to celebrate our special occasion. Thank you palm restaurant
