Afternoon tea with my daughter made her first visit to the city very special. Impeccable service. Quiet and absolutely beautiful setting.
Afternoon Tea at The Palm Court is an experience. The ambience is what it’s all about. It’s very pricey and not a place to go unless you plan ahead. I would recommend this for a special day out or occasion.
We were on holiday and wanted to visit the plaza
It was special.
We went for afternoon tea ($90 a person) on the day before St. Patrick's Day and had the special St. Patrick's Day tea menu. Fabulous food and service. The waiter suggested the tea he served me as I'm not a tea person and I loved it. They will box up any left overs, and the portions of food, tea, and the glass of champagne are enough that you will not leave hungry. The food is delicious. You will not hear the diners next to you, but the room has an overall somewhat noisy din that fades into the background. Please understand that Open Table says the dress is business casual--but that doesn't mean jeans and a shirt. You will pay for the experience, and it is a worthwhile experience. There were kids there who were having the Eloise tea ($60 a person), and they wore dresses and were adorable.
Not really a proper English tea . Fortunes in London or the Ritz hotel London do a proper English tea
It was my 60th birthday and the birthday of a friend. It was really wonderful and we were made to feel very special.
Guests from out of town
It was amazing!!!!
I think the menu could have been more creative. I had my back to everyone so people watching was out for me. I would arrange the tables so everyone could enjoy the activity around them!
We loved our afternoon tea at the Plaza! The food was delicious and the staff was gracious.
My only critique would be that the food came within like 3 minutes of placing our order. As a special occasion outing, we would have liked a few minutes to sit and enjoy ourselves, but instead that made us feel rushed. We also were given a bill within seconds of having our plates cleared, when we wanted to sit and finish our teapots that were still full.
Food was just ok, and overpriced. If you want to go to the plaza for ambiance, go to the lobby and order coffee, and enjoy the surroundings. Open Table only had reservations at 8am. The restaurant informed us that they had many midmorning reservations open and probably better to contact them directly before making reservations
Food is ok and service is ok. Don’t expect to be wowed unless you’ve never been in an upscale hotel before.
It was a Special time with my Daughter for her 30th Birthday! Thank you ! For making her experience Wonderful!
Beautiful place for Afternoon Tea. The food, staff and ambience was fabulous. Felt very special.
Very disappointed: good service but not like the old days at the Plaza. Had the eggs Benedict and it was not good with tough bacon and very ordinary home fries. Blah! Absolutely overpriced for quality. The Palm Court is starting to look very shabby
Gorgeous surroundings and prompt service made for a highly enjoyable friendship anniversary breakfast at The Palm Court. Although the pancakes were of the perfect kind of fluffiness, the eggs benedict were a bit of a car crash compared to our lush surroundings.
El desayuno delicioso, con el marco del restaurante y su ambientación tan elegante y fresca.
El café muy bueno.
El servicio muy rápido y todos muy amables.
It was to celebrate my birthday also we had theater tickets that evening for a show that began at 7PM so tea was perfect. The tea was the best I’ve had ever. I have had tea at Brown’s and the Ritz in London. This was by far superior!
my girlfriend really enjoyed her birthday treat. was made all the more special by the service received from the staff.
could not fault the treatment we received.
the food was excellent also!!!
We had the traditional high tea which comes with a pot of tea each & a 3-tiered scones, sandwiches & sweets. It was a lovely set-up & the portions were more than sufficient. We had to pack some to-go. The ambiance was lovely & we enjoyed having our relaxing "english tea" . Would recommend!
Three of my friends and I celebrated a birthday while enjoying a beautifully presented breakfast. Our food was delectable. We were thankful and pleasantly surprised when our waitress came out with plate of tiny desserts and a candle to celebrate our friend's birthday. The room is immaculate and so beautifully decorated. I enjoyed every moment. Our service providers were very attentive. We will definitely be back.
I was looking forward to coming here with a friend for Afternoon Tea before visiting an exhibit. We arrived about fifteen minutes before our reservation time, and our host was very accommodating and kindly sat us. Unfortunately the pleasant experience ended there. The woman who came to take our order was harsh, abrupt, and looked less than pleased to be serving us. When some confusion arose about the per person nature of Afternoon Tea and sharing a tray versus receiving our own, we received a withering look and no helpful information. Only after we decided to share were we gruffly told there would be surcharge to do so. The sandwich fillings were too salty, the desserts too sweet, and our tea did not arrive until we were more than halfway through the tray. Only when it came time to pay did we see more of the woman who took our order, who had the audacity at one point ten minutes after receiving our check to step next to our table and flip open the ticket booklet without even asking whether we had placed credit cards inside. We felt rushed and disappointed with the whole experience and decided we would be much better off going somewhere else in future.
Wonderful setting food and service for Eloise Tea
Condescending staff. Prices were astronomical (125/tea) and you must order a meal or pay 30$ fee. Sharing is also $30. We took our daughter for her 9th birthday for Eloise tea. My husband and I were going to have cocktails while she had tea but weren't allowed. A manager was called/ we were embarrassed publicly and talked down to. Eventually the manager did us a favor and "let" my husband and I split a tea service. The sandwiches were pre made and nothing special. After the food delivery we NEVER saw a waiter again and had to seek out someone to bring our check. Then he hovered while we paid. Never again! My daughter has looked forward to this for years / if that had not been the case I would have gotten up and left! It was a very disappointing experience.
Food was good. Venue outstanding. It’s The Plaza after all!
I thought the staff could have explained things a little better. We had to ask for a coffee top up twice. I’d expect to have to do that in a lesser rated establishment, not the plaza!
We were there overall about 90mins and I felt they were trying to hurry us a little.
Would go back for the macaroons alone! Lol
Great birthday breakfast buffet to go to! May the day special :)
We had a delightful tea at the Palm Court. Fantastic service and a wonderful experience
My (not so secret) oasis in the city. Always fantastic.
We had afternoon tea and really loved it here. Such a lovely atmosphere, great food and service.
Great from beginning to end! Great service, great waiter and the food is delicious!
I really liked this restaurant. The food that I ordered was just ok but the service was absolutely wondering. I would return in the future and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
Nice Place for a once in a while. Good for evening snacks but not for dinner!
Have been here several times and always fabulous. Wonderful for a romantic dinner or Sunday brunch - you will not be disappointed.
Went to the palm court for afternoon tea an my 50th birthday with friends. The staff were very friendly helpful and the food was excellent . OverLl a great experience
Tea at the Palm Court is one of the most delightful things you can do with your time in New York. Our server, Kazi, was an absolute dream, and the food is delicious and light.
The Sunday brunch at $48 consisted of runny scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and potatoes with some pastries and fruit. It was so not worth the money.
While the ambience was great and the rest of our stay at the hotel was phenomenal, our brunch was sub par. When checking the restaurant out and making our reservation, we were under the impression that we would be served the full menu. Upon arriving, we were informed that it was just a buffet that was very limited as both me and my guest have dietary restrictions. They said that during their peak time they do the buffet but only half the tables, at most, were seated. The food we were able to eat was cold and the eggs were runny. I am very disappointed as we were expecting a fancy brunch when we received what is typically offered for free at many other hotels that are way less expensive. I would have liked to been informed that we would be having a buffet at the time of making my reservation. We could have just ordered room service and got the type of food we expected for the same price. Over $100 for a cold, small buffet is just a scam.
The staff is HORRIBLE. They seat tables directly beside the busy Sunday buffet line or by the kitchen, when the entire restaurant was empty for an 8:30 am reservation. I made a reservation weeks in advance, then a walk-in diner gets the better table. I was furious. The Palm is severely in need of new management. Such a shame because the space is beautiful...wish the attitudes of its employees were.
