American
The iconic Palm Court at The Plaza hotel with a complete renovation helmed by Master Architect Thierry Despont. The Palm Court showcases classic American savory menus from morning to evening, while Despont has brought the grand feeling of Central Park indoors, creating an ambiance that feels warm, private and glamorous. Bespoke furnishings provide a relaxed, yet elegant setting well-suited for either a professional breakfast meeting or an evening of cocktails crafted by mixologist Brian Van Flandern. Afternoon Tea truly shines with custom tableware and china, a tea list with worldly depth, and of course, a bit of Eloise too. Pastry Chef Matthew Lambie creates unique dessert experiences that effortlessly combine both classic and modern elements, while staying true to the Palm Court grandeur. This elegant room marked with its stained glass dome and impressive height adds a touch of old New York to a very polished and modern sense of hospitality.

Beautiful hotel, no variations on food provided for afternoon tea. Only fruit scones, no plain or cheese alternative. No butter. Sandwiches were awful flavours and no option to change or alter slightly. Very strong overpowering flavours.

Wished I had opted for tea at BG. I always go to Afternoon Tea whenever I am out of town and I would definitely rate this as unremarkable. The food was very mediocre; however, the service was good. Just found the experience not worth the money.

Tea at The Plaza is always a treat. The staff and service, as usual, was impeccable. It was the first visit to New York City for my goddaughter and I was very excited to take her for the Eloise tea. Fariz took care of us and he was above and beyond even Plaza standards. Kind, helpful, personable, patient and sweet - he made her feel totally comfortable and at home and it was a perfect experience. She can’t wait to come back. Thank you for helping me make wonderful memories

I can't help but be disappointed. The hostess was made aware that we had a birthday in our party and she even put my wife on the spot when we were seated. After that no mention of birthday, until we paid our bill and put our coats on. The waiter found out it was her birthday and asked us to sit back down and blow out a candle. She was embarassed and we left instead.

We waited 20 minutes for our table to be setup. There was absolutely no service from Syed (our waiter) whatsoever. We had to ask a different waiter to order champagne for us which took nearly 20 mins. Fabric was missing from the chairs and the general appearance and service was not what we have experienced in the past from the Plaza. Highly disappointed!

My daughter always wanted to have afternoon tea at the Palm Court at the Plaza Hotel so, for her 21st birthday, we got her tea with a friend as her gift. She has some serious food allergies though, which made the menu challenging. Luckily, Chef Sani and Chef Matthew designed a menu around her allergies which gave her a great tea experience, just as fun and elegant as the regular menu. We are grateful to those chefs and to everyone else at the Palm Court. It surpassed our expectations.

Overpriced and TERRIBLE service. I made a reservation through opentable and still had to wait over 20 mins to be seated. Once seated the waiter took our order and did not return for over 30 mins. I finally grabbed another waiter who apologized and brought our food out. Food was ok, but the restaurant wad overstaffed and inefficient. Do not recommend.

Very disappointed. Maybe there was staff that had called off that caused a back log in the kitchen but the wait for a table (we had a reservation) and then the long wait for food that came out cold was not worth it.

Excelente la comida y el lugar. Los cócteles son buenos aunque algo caros comparados con lugares de similar calidad.
El servicio estuvo muy bien. Aunque cometieron un error en uno de los platos que generó una demora.

Went for restaurant week and it was a big ripoff. It was a tasting not an actual meal. The waitress was not friendly and let us sit there for 10 minutes before greeting and taking our orders. The room is stunning.

We took afternoon tea. Great staff, I mean really really fabulous staff. Great ambience. Beautiful service. Weirdly, the cream that came for 2 large scones (to be split into 4 halves, obviously) amounted to less than one tablespoon for 2 people. We had to keep asking for more (brought to us very willingly, but seriously It would’ve been easier to give us enough in the first place). The scones themselves were superb but frankly most of the other cakes were bland and didn’t set the world on fire. Plaza staff are a true asset but someone from management should probably pay a visit to the Ritz in London, to see how to put a delicious tea on for guests (the price is almost exactly the same).

Decided to do afternoon tea on the recommendation of a friend and from start to finish it was an amazing experience. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Tea, sandwiches and pastries very nice and what we could not finished they placed in a lovely container and bag for us. Very nice atmosphere and a great place to people watch. Not cheap but worth every penny.

I've been to the Palm Room several times- and I chose to take my small son to celebrate my birthday. The service was lackluster, the sandwiches were slightly stale, and for the cost, frankly, I'd rather have gone to Alice's Tea Cup.

We had a 2:00 reservation but we had to wait 30 minutes for a table which was annoying. No place to sit while waiting. Loud obnoxious people at the bar were distracting. Rest rooms far away from restaurant. Service and food were excellent!

We really enjoyed it ,, it was my mom’s birthday ..,
The only disappointment was I had 1.30 pm and we were not seated until 15,20 mins after .,,
When the hostess took us to be seated the spot was available even before we checked in as it was next to the bar and we could see the empty clean table while waiting..
I was wondering why we had to wait 20 mins while the table was already available...
The server lady was very sweet though

i was at the plaza for a very special event, reuniting with my new half sister and niece as a result of an incredible sleuthing story on ancestry and 23andme. that in and of itself was magical, topped off by the tea and beautiful setting. truly a treasured life moment and so emotional for me! and then, the most wonderful man was our waiter, elvis. i have to say i have never met a more naturally kinder and attentive waiter! it was extraordinary! before you knew it we were sharing life stories and it was beautiful. my sister had enjoyed a particular tea from south africa and he gave me a sample! i gave it to her and it was a blessing all around of simple kind heartedness from this dear elvis! we vowed to always come back to the palm court as a new family tradition. thank you elvis for being you, it was a wonderful moment in time for all of us!
