El icónico Palm Court en el hotel The Plaza ha sido renovado completamente por el arquitecto maestro Thierry Despont. El Palm Court cuenta con menús estadounidenses clásicos y sabrosos desde la mañana y hasta el anochecer. Despont ha logrado recrear la esencia de Central Park dentro del establecimiento, creando un ambiente que resulta cálido, privada y glamoroso. El inmobiliario hecho a la medida brinda un entorno relajado pero elegante, adecuado perfectamente para un desayuno de negocios o una velada con cocteles preparados a mano por el mixólogo Brian Van Flandern. Not worth the money. Wait staff was spilling water all over the table, the China and was missing our cups and instead of watering the floor. They could not get the tea order straight and we’re pouring other people’s tea into the wrong cups. The food had been sitting around and was nothing to write home about. You could tell it was not fresh. Overall, I would say it was a disappointment and I would not return for a second time nor recommend it to any other people visiting the plaza or New York City in general.

Having tea at The Plaza was a bucket list item for me and my closest friend. The experience was everything we dreamed of from the service to the food to the tea to the lovely, lovely surroundings. It was a treat we will never forget.

The chandeliers sparkle, the ceilings soar, and the clinks of silverware echo around a room bustling with energy. Our server was so sweet and struck the perfect balance of attentiveness and discretion, with each interaction marked by genuine care and the classic Plaza charm. Booking the tea time here is about the experience, the history, and the sense of being somewhere truly special. Just be prepared to share a bit of the magic — as the setting draws a steady stream of onlookers hoping to catch a glimpse of what you’re so lucky to be part of.

We visited the Palm Court for Tea Service in mid-July, i.e. tourist season. It is one of those iconic experiences. The waiters and staff have a good grasp of the expectations of the customers and work well to ensure that the experience lives up to expectations. Around 2/3 of the parties seemed to included a young girl who was "following in the footsteps of Eloise."

Luxury experience is created when you equally combine beautiful place (that is building/decor/furniture/tableware), great service, and great food. And if the place has history, then this is an added benefit. The Plaza has good scores in all of them except service. The level and quality of service does not match its name. Some nations do not have the luxury service in their DNA and if few did, then it will definitely be after an extensive training and development programs. Service in luxury establishments include the body language, facial expressions, the words used in a conversation, attention to details, and even how a plate is served and placed on a table. A random example: there are several ways a server can identify the tea type in the tea pot excluding smelling the back of a tea pot lid! Employees are in desperate need for proper training or to be replaced by those who are well aware of luxury service.
