My daughter and I have made afternoon tea at the Palm Court a tradition. We can’t afford to do it often, but feel it is worth the experience to save up fo it. The food, the presentation, the wait staff, the ambiance, all of it...❤️

Very average breakfast for the price. Was the worst meal we had on our stay to NYC. Clinton Street Bakery is 100x better and less than half the price. Beautiful hotel and now we can say we had breakfast at the Plaza - would not recommend it go back, however,

Booked for breakfast with my husband, we were both really disappointed with the food.
Also small glass of orange $12 !! Absolutely ridiculous.
Can not fault the staff very professional, attentive and polite.
Wouldn’t recommend and won’t be visiting again

While the nostalgia of having "tea" at the Plaza was lovely, when it comes down to it, you're basically having PB&J and cucumber sandwiches and one glass of champagne for $200. We chalked it up the a lovely afternoon, but I should have checked prices and made a decision of it was worth it or not before hand.

We’d travelled to NYC for a friend’s special birthday, which credit where credit is due they acknowledged and the actual Afternoon Tea was lovely, however the service was extremely disappointing , firstly we were kept waiting for our table, then when we were eventually seated there was no time to really review the menu, when the Afternoon Tea came the waiters were over familiar, then the table was cleared before everyone had finished both from a drinks and food perspective! Upon paying, whilst I accept that the standard tip in the US is 15%, surely if service is poor then that should be reflected in what you pay - the waiter came back and told us we had to pay 15%, when we’d chosen to pay 10%!!! I will not be recommending - the service ruined a lovely afternoon!!!!

Be aware, you are paying for being able to say you had afternoon tea at the Plaza. The smoked salmon sandwich, very salty. The cucumbers sandwich the best. Scones, espionage the whole wheat very good. The amount of lemon, strawberry jam and clotted cream was not sufficient for 2. Pastries were ok.

This was my third time having tea at The Plaza, and probably my last. I went with two girlfriends and we all chose the Champagne Tea. The food was quite mediocre, the tea was lovely, but the waiters nearly pulled our seats out from underneath us to rush us out. They took away our tower of treats without us asking or saying we were finished, dropped the bill, and hovered over us until we paid and left. When spending this type of money at an afternoon tea, I really don’t expect to be rushed out of the restaurant. Afternoon Tea is meant to be leisurely enjoyed. I know this is New York, we live here, but the whole point of this experience is to relax. Really disappointed in The Plaza.

Saw this restaurant while I was checking out the Plaza just out of curiosity. As I walked into the restaurant area I was stunned by the beauty and the classiness of the ambiance. We had a show booked on Broadway and I was planning our dinner for that evening so I booked this place. It did not disappoint. It's not cheap, so, don't go here looking for any bargains. But if you want a memorable night out and a great meal in NYC it's a cool place to go. The seating is comfortable and the round, center bar is fantastic. We had appetizers, a side and shared the 18 oz. steak and it was one of the best tasting steaks I've had (and I'm from Steak country). The staff was attentive to our schedule needs and departure time to make our show. All in all a fantastic experience.

The sandwiches were soggy, unoriginal and nearly inedible. The "vegetarian" option was basically just extra cucumber and egg salad- nothing inventive. Desserts were also underwhelming. Many of the teas were an additional charge which is crazy since tea is $70 to start with. The only white tea on the menu was an extra charge.
Only saving grace of this place are the decent scones and beautiful room. Overall I was incredibly disappointed.

We spent a wonderful afternoon celebrating a very special day in our family. I truly appreciate it when an establishment reads the comments on the booking reservation - it adds that special touch. We will be back again!

Afternoon Tea at The Palm Court at the Plaza was one of the highlights of our trip to New York. Whilst very pricey (which I knew it would be) It is a one off experience and therefore worth the cost. The food presentation is just lovely and we didn't leave hungry. In fact, we were able to take our left overs home. The staff were attentive but not obsequious and didn't rush us even though we booked the last sitting. We were made to feel comfortable even though we were in our tourist clothes. Even though it was very busy the tables are enough distance apart that you are not listening to anyone else's conversations. A bucket list treat.

My sister and I visited the Palm Court for afternoon tea. We both opted for The New Yorker Tea with one pot of Thé des Lords Earl Grey and one pot of Thé du Hammam.

The ambiance of the Palm Court was excellent—the soft jazz music layered perfectly with the conversations surrounding us and the decor, particularly the stained glass ceiling, was gorgeous. However, there was a noticeable lack of attention to detail. There were lots of visible scratches on the mirrored tabletops, the utensils had water spots, and some food was crusted on the pages of my menu.

The service was quite good. The hosts/hostesses were exceedingly polite, and one hostess kindly checked our coats and retrieved them for us once we finished our meal. Our waiter was also attentive and efficient. When we needed extra sugar cubes and more Devonshire cream, he quickly supplied more.

The food was hit or miss. Stand-outs included the macaron, the egg salad sandwich, the cucumber sandwich, and the chocolate cake. The cream, lemon curd, and raspberry preserves for the scones were fantastic. Our selected teas were also delicious. The rest of the savories, desserts, and scones were unimpressive. The roast beef sandwich was dry, and the ham and swiss on the pretzel bun lacked flavor. The chocolate eclair had a lazy presentation and the custard filling was not enjoyable.

Overall, we enjoyed the experience, but eagerly hope for changes in the quality of the food and an improved attention to detail.

My mother and I went to Afternoon Tea at the Plaza for her birthday. While the tea, food and environment were lovely, service was a little bit rude. They brought out the food well before we got out tea, and after a while, I asked about the tea and their response made us feel like we were being rude to even ask about it. After that, our server ignored us until it was time to get our bill.

We always find time to have at least one meal at the classic Palm Court when in NYC. Beautiful setting and traditional eloquent dinning. Eggs Benedict was wonderful. Our friends had the fluffy blueberry pancakes. Coffee in fine china always takes good there. Loved it.

Dunes at the palm court for our anniversary. Ordered the cheese plate and lamb lollipops for appetizers. The food runner set down our cheese plate but didn’t even tell us what any of them were which was disappointing. The lamb lollipops were DIVINE! Loved them! We then had the ribeye and the Dover sole for entrees. Presentation was very lacking but the taste was not. Both so buttery, tender, and delicious. Overall a very nice meal. One word of advice, get some bussers. Those poor waitresses had too much on their hands trying to tend to tables and bus at the same time. I felt pretty for them. Our waitress was very pleasant although I coul imagine we must have been very stressed out. She did a great job.

We booked afternoon tea at the Plaza while visiting NY to mark a friend’s birthday. The room is beautiful and the first server we had was really charming and made a big effort to mark my friend’s birthday. However, there was a large family group of people near us having afternoon tea (20-25 people) and they had really noisy kids that were running around shouting and throwing things at each other. Neither the parents or the Hotel seemed to care about the impact this was having on other guests’ experience.

The afternoon tea itself was nice but not amazing, and as time went on rather than look to refresh our tea, servers kept coming over asking were we done when we clearly weren’t, which made us feel quite uncomfortable, as if we were imposing.

It’s a beautiful setting but for the price you pay, it’s not good value for money. I wouldn’t recommend it to my friends or family if they were in NY.

We were on a girls trip to NY and wanted to dine at the Plaza. Despite reading bad reviews on service, we still took a chance. The ambience is awesome at the Palm Courts, but the service really sucks. The Management at The Plaza should know that if someone is visiting their hotel, they understand and expect good service and know the difference between a cafe and a flagship fine dining restaurant. The server produced the check and left it on our table right after the food was served, did not bother to ask whether we liked food or wanted something else. He was hovering around the table till we put down our credit card to pay. I did not want to spoil the mood of our group in the morning so did not complain right there to create a scene. An Asian gentlemen, not putting the name down. Flagship hotels, our enthusiasm went down and I am sure to NOT REFER the Palm Courts to our friends and family. When hiring cheap staff in the service business, please check the attitude of the staff. A good service and friendly staff would continue to get you more business than otherwise. Stop cutting corners when hiring cheap staff. If you check the reviews, there are more BAD reviews than good ones. The Management at The Plaza Hotel, Palm Courts. You really need to pull up your socks to fix this. Thank You.

Buffet Breakfast at Sundays for USD 48,- +Tax is OK (29 for kids) , if its only about visiting The Plaza. Scrambled eggs from convenience eggs instead of fresh made at the meanwhile state-of-the-art egg-station is not acceptable. Fruits are great, bread selection is terrible (3 kinds of toast, several bagles).
