The Palm Court’s Afternoon Tea truly shines with custom tableware and china, a fragrant tea list steeped in history, and of course, a bit of precocious Eloise too. Guests are invited to nibble on our in-house Pastry Chef’s unique culinary offerings like delicate finger sandwiches, buttery scones and elegant desserts, which are all made from scratch with local, seasonal and sustainable ingredients.

It took over 20 min to be greeted and then we only saw the waitress when she took our order and delivered the drinks. We couldn’t get a water refill or order any food or another cocktail. We were there for an hour and 30 min before we could get the bill. Unbelievable that this luxury hotel had such terrible service

Overrated. Yes you go for the experience but this fell short to me. The worst part was the bathrooms, same ambience that you would find at Target and dirtier. Lobby was beautiful. Save your money and go to Tiffany’s Blue Box Cafe, better food and decor at a 3rd of the price.

What a beautiful experience! The price is quite shocking at first (you can find very nice afternoon tea services elsewhere for half the price), but you are paying for the quality of service, the ambiance, the environment, and the fact that even their “typical” finger sandwiches are on another level of amazing. Also, we were celebrating a birthday and they brought out a special cake with a candle, it was such a sweet surprise. Highly recommend going and experiencing afternoon tea at the Plaza Palm Court at least once in your life! And dressing up is a must, if only because it is fun to wear a tea party dress and high heels! (Check out the Plaza’s Pinterest board for outfit inspo)

A beautiful time of year (Thanksgiving weekend) to experience high tea at the plaza. However, so very pricy. Should at least include a glass of champagne. Ambience very classic. Carpet shabby 🙃 Service was top notch.

It was the worst experience I ever had. It was my birthday, staff didn’t care at all and we got the worst table. Tourists were able to enter the hotel so it felt like everyone was watching you. No explanation of the food so we didn’t know what we were eating. Hostess was extremely rude and restrooms were dirty. Not a 5 star experience at all, I would never recommend to go there for a afternoon tea.

The afternoon tea party went well, as each of us had our own pot of tea with small bite sized pastries, scones and sandwiches that were nicely decorated. But, I’m disappointed of the ambience of the restaurant, which was not as nicely decorated as expected, and the sticker shock was real for the amount of food & limited services required! Thus, overall value is low given the VERY high or expensive prices vs. food & service provided.

A friend and I took our tweens to NYC to enjoy their first girls' weekend. They requested Tea and I knew the Palm Court would be great. We had a party of five, three adults, and two tweens. They enjoyed the Eloise Tea and the adults had the Holiday Tea with Champagne. My only wish was they had given us a larger table. They set a table for four up for five by adding an end seat and an extra setting. The tea towers, table settings, and tea pots-while beautiful-created quite the maneuver job for the five of us. We enjoyed the atmosphere and I look forward to returning. I will just make sure we have enough space to relax and not knock anything over. And also-the dress code is not enforced for all patrons-there was a lot of athletic wear/lululemon wondering about...still very lovely though!!

We came all the way from Australia and Wow what a great experience! Initially I had read some bad reviews so was concerned about going to the plaza for the high tea, however our expectations were more then exceeded. From the moment we walked into the Palm court we had the BEST service, the waiters were so attentive and friendly, they also gave so much time and attention to my 20month old daughter she had a ball, from having her own tea cup to a PBJ sandwich, then Eloise chocolate lollipops and a big choc covered caramel apple, she was in heaven. The food was also very tasty and delicious. Yes it is expensive but it is a great experience and somthing my mother and I will remember forever and wonderful memories to share with my daughter. I highly recommend to visit the Plaza when you are in New York you won’t regret it! All the Christmas Decor just made it that extra special.

Appetizers came during the meal not before. Gratuity was included and decided for us. My partner commented she felt forgotten about. The experience for the money was not worth it. Had much better service at a restaurant in Disney World than here. We expected more and was let down.

Priceless experience. Tea, champagne, holiday desserts/sandwiches/scones. Alllll of it was simply beautiful and the service was outstanding. Our waitress, Ursula, was SO friendly and no request was too much! Unbeatable experience and I would recommend this to anyone! Go at least once and go during the Christmas holiday if possible!

Fariz was an amazing at his job! He is so kind and made me feel completely welcome the entire time. As a solo patron it gets intimidating at times to enjoy your meal alone, let alone an afternoon tea but Fariz made me feel completely comfortable the entire time! A High Tea at The Plaza in NYC is the best way to kick off the Holiday spirit! Every year I look forward to my reservation to The Plaza’s Palm Court to enjoy a Holiday Tea experience. The hostesses greet you when you check in and take you to our table. I brought them a box of chocolates to thank them for what they do. I always request the best server at The Palm Court and that is Fariz! He is magnificent, professional and so lovely! Our table was visited by the one and only Santa Claus and he stayed & chatted with me & we took photos together. The Holiday Plaza tea was amazing! The champagne was divine. The scones & mini sandwiches were so delicious & savory. The pristine & holiday landscape in and all around The Palm Court was so warm & inviting. A huge thank you to Fariz & the staff at The Palm Court at The Plaza hotel! An amazing time as always!

I went with my daughter who was visiting from London. We did not feel that the service was very personal, it was very automatic. The flowers on the table were not fresh. But the food was fantastic.

Lovely food and decor for Thanksgiving! The only mishap was the front door concierge who wanted to send us away because he didn't know Thanksgiving Dinner opened at 10am. Service inside was impaccable and made for a once in a lifetime experience!

Place was under staffed. The entire room had only two servers which made everything extremely slow. We were sitting for over 20mins without even water brought to our table. We were about to leave and finally a server came over to take our order. During the day it seems much better and with more staff, so u wouldn’t recommend going there for dinner. Sitting by the bar at night might be a better option.

We had a wonderful experience. Mary Alice was our server and was attentive and helpful. We had the signature tea, the vegan option and the Eloise tea. Each service had delicious food. I had the vegan option and was happy with everything. I have read other reviews that talk about the noise level and speed of service being too quick, but didn’t find either to be an issue. The tea is very expensive. We do a holiday tea each year in New Orleans and the one at the Ritz there seems reasonable in comparison. However, being in New York and at The Plaza, we knew what we were getting into!

Our Holiday Tea was perfect. The savory sandwiches, the pastries and scones were all well prepared and beautifully presented. Tea was good (Plaza Holiday Blend), well brewed and served in a large pot. We had a great time!

As always- impeccable NYC holiday experience. We were seated promptly and Kazi our server was exceptional. So kind to my daughter and indulged our numerous picture requests 😊. We travel in from Chicago each year and holiday tea is at the top of our highlights!
