The Palm Court’s Afternoon Tea truly shines with custom tableware and china, a fragrant tea list steeped in history, and of course, a bit of precocious Eloise too. Guests are invited to nibble on our in-house Pastry Chef’s unique culinary offerings like delicate finger sandwiches, buttery scones and elegant desserts, which are all made from scratch with local, seasonal and sustainable ingredients.

We are open Thursday - Monday for Breakfast* (6:30-10 am), traditional Afternoon Tea (10:30 am-4 pm) and Evening Cocktails and Lite Fare (5 pm-11 pm). At this time, we are only accepting reservations for Afternoon Tea. Availability for Evening Cocktails and Lite Fare is on a walk-in basis.

Service just ok. They autograt everything, so I guess they don’t have much incentive to care. With that said, the tea set up for a little girl is unmatched.

Beautiful surrounding, lovely food. Service was really friendly during the meal but felt rushed and pressured for a tip at the end when grat was already included on a very pricey tea. I likely would have increased it but felt that the pressure to do so was off putting.

The experience was just magical from beginning to end. The staff was attentive but not intrusive. And the Chef, ah the Chef, well he went above and beyond to cater for my friend with dietary restrictions, combining the vegan and gluten free option, and still managing to make the food scrumpcious as well as gorgeous. Afternoon tea at the Palm Court isn't something one does everday but should be done at least once in a lifetime.

Our servicer was really nice and friendly. However, the food was not very good. I’ve had high tea at The Plaza a handful of times and it seems as though the quality of the food gets worse year after year. Overall, it’s very over priced and the food is not good.

It should not take 20+ minutes to seat people, especially when you have seatings reserved, and are not handicapped accessible. The bathroom, front door, waiting area with 25+ people and two chairs. Really! They were super careful to fill y water glass and then poured water on my silverware and lap. They got our order wrong and never bothered to ask if we wanted anything else. This is nothing more than an over priced tourist trap. As a New Yorker, I was embarrassed. Don't waste your money or time.

Very underwhelming experience. We visited on Monday for my mums 60th birthday and the whole experience was just terrible to be honest. The staff, personally I fled couldn’t care less and didn’t even want to be working, not one smile in the room. We felt rushed and we were just surrounded by men “working” and “charging their phones” It just didn’t feel like a special occasion at all

Booked as a special treat for an anniversary during our visit to NYC. We opted for the signature plaza afternoon tea but there was a mix up and we were give one signature and one Central Park version but that was ok! Also, we asked for no fish but some sandwiches were fish but our server switched them out for non-fish! Great selection of tea available! Because it was an anniversary we were presented with a cake for the occasion too at the end which was nice!

Very disappointing food & service, I expected soo much more from The Plaza, it should have been so much better, the waiter Syed poured our first cup of tea and a glass of water then we never saw him again in over an hour, never asked us if we wanted more tea, which was quite lovely, the servers know they are automatically getting 18% gratuity so they are just don’t care, no explanation of the menu, the room is gorgeous but very noisy when full, the ladies at the desk were quite lovely and attentive We will not be returning, it’s way too expensive for what you get, there’s so many more places to have afternoon tea in NYC

Tea at the Palm Court couldn’t have been more magical - the staff was incredible - especially Fariz our server! He truly made the entire experience so special - we were celebrating our bride who is gluten-free and they were so accommodating. Had plenty of delicious gluten free options! everything from beginning to end was perfect!

Gorgeous surrounding, no questions asked when it comes to decor and beauty of the plaza. However, our service was left to be desired. We were seated 30 mins past our arrival, even though we had a reservation; our server’s demeanor was also quite abrupt and pushy, to the point of rudeness (though it was much more pleasant towards the end). Fun but a gimmicky experience.

The whole afternoon tea experience was underwhelming. The standard of food is not comparable to other 5 star hotels globally offering this experience- this was my second visit to the Plaza for afternoon tea and this experience was incomparable to my first visit which was excellent. The scones were dry and small, no butter provided which had to be requested. Sandwiches were good but the sweet treats were under par. Ambience was noisy and service was inattentive. Not good value for money in terms of the cost of this experience- disappointing in all respects.

Tea service was incredibly disappointing. It’s very clear that the Plaza is riding their name and their previous reputation, because there was nothing at all satisfying about this experience and it is clearly through lack of effort. - tea was basic, tasted like bag tea. boring options with no refills - food was mediocre to poor. Sandwiches had bread that was starting to go stale, desserts were ok but clearly prepackaged and brought in, and the scones…wow…the scones were so dry and stale as to be inedible. - EVERY detail you expect from a formal tea service was missing. Sugar was in packets, crème fresh instead of clotted cream, scone toppings on the table when you got there instead of brought out with the food, food dumped unceremoniously on table without any description of what was offered, bar in middle of the room was loud and area not partitioned from lobby at all. If this was tea at a Holiday Inn for $20 I’d be SLIGHTLY more generous, but even then it would be a two at best. I’ve had tea in Philly for half the price with all of the extras you expect in a quiet space with a pianist or harpist playing. I don’t book tea at the Plaza for $300 for two people to get what I’ve described. Very sad that such an iconic hotel has clearly just given up and is cutting corners. Will never return.

Didn't have high expectations but definitely have standards. Wasn't expecting to pay so much for stale bread, dense scones and cakes and very basic tea. The saddest part was the stale and dry bread. Wanted to celebrate my 40th bday with panache and left feeling awful. Only saving grace was the wait staff Kazi. He was outstanding. But the food quality albeit presentation looked good. Maybe its only for pictures and not edible. I'm never coming back here again. Want to save tourists from this experience if possible.

The service was unmatched. I will say that. The price was a little expensive for what is was. Very tiny bite sized sandwiches and mini desserts. But I guess the ambiance and service made up for it. Just plan to spend a good amount of money beforehand.

My daughter and I had afternoon tea on a recent girls trip to NYC! It was a great experience for both of us! Elvis was great! He was attentive and had a smile on his face the entire time! Not something to do all the time but was such a special treat for us!

Brought the wrong afternoon tea option to start with. Brought over a bowl of caviar. That afternoon tea was $599 for two. Our server then came to our table with 2 pots of tea. We weren’t asked which tea we would like with our afternoon tea. I then had to ask for a pot of coffee as I don’t drink tea. If we had been asked which tea we wanted I could of told them that. The food was lovely but at other afternoon tea venues we were asked if we wanted more sandwiches. They obviously don’t do that at The Plaza or if they do then they forgot to ask us.

Quantity of food was low for the price paid. You would expect in return 5 star service, which definitely wasn’t evident on the day. The waiter banged things down and spilt water on our table. I would have expected a little more from such an establishment

I took my mom to celebrate her birthday. It was my first time and I'm sorry to say the experience did not live up to what I had hoped. Pros: Food was nice Ambiance was incredible Service from maitre d was excellent Cons: Our waiter was obviously burnt out and didn't care about his job. He showed up 3x in an hour and a half. I had to track down another waiter to ask for more water (all three of our glasses were empty...and for some time). At over $600 for the three of us, with obligatory gratuity built in, I suppose he realized he was going to get a healthy gratuity irregardless of his effort. Upholstery (leather on the seat) on the bench seat was definitely worse for wear. I would have expected everything to have been in optimal condition. Not the case. Disappointing

Afternoon tea at the Plaza is ALWAYS a special treat. We try to make it every time we are in the City and it never disappoints. The tea is perfect and the treats are delicious. We have been many times before and we will be back.

Clearly a touristy local where they have stopped caring about service and excellence. For the price would have expected a much better experience and quality. Waiters were cranky and required multiple asks for waters and other needs. As a local New Yorker will not return
