Atmosphere was great, although there is not much privacy. Too many tables in the space available. Prices a bit over the top in relation to what you get.

I've done tea in many places and was looking forward to what I felt was the pinnacle tea experience at the Plaza. The service was nonexistent and the food was below mediocre (the sandwiches were still frozen). I was largely disappointed. The ambiance is, of course, lovely.

It was a nice experience and they are very sweet to children. We went with our two daughters and the surprises kept coming, they were very kind and the teas were delicious. We opted out of ordering the childrens tea towers ($82 per child) bc our kids are picky eaters and frequently waste the food we order for them. We were charged a $30 sharing fee as a penalty for not ordering each person their own tea tower which was a bit disappointing. The plaza hotel overall feels tired and like they haven’t picked back up post Covid. Also as an aside the entire place has to share two bathroom stalls and we spent about 30 minutes of our visit in line for the bathrooms, ugh. The Palm Court is beautiful with lots of fancy people dressed up for the occasion and was a special experience. Minor improvements would have made it flawless.

The service and atmosphere made this experience very special. We went for my birthday, and everyone from the host to the server to the manager wished me a happy day. The whole experience was very special and the attention to detail in all of the sandwiches and pastries was exquisite! We'll be back!

Not a very good one and for the prices charged it was not what we expected. The doormen greeted us and we’re really nice but it went down hill after that. Being asked to take a walk as we had arrived 15 minutes early and then to watch other people who arrived after us being led to their tables. We asked if we could make adjustments to the selection of sandwiches but we’re told no as all the sandwiches are pre made and cannot be changed. As my daughter is a fussy eater this is the last thing we needed to hear. We only ate two of the eight sandwiches and just ate all the sweet desserts instead. As it was a special occasion for my daughters 21st Birthday we asked for two cocktails, we expected them to be in big ornate glasses or fancy glasses at that but they were put in just a highball tumbler. When we were first seated a waiter came and asked if we would like some water, we said yes not realising that you have to pay $12.00 a bottle. The only other thing that we enjoyed was the surprise little tin with a salted biscuit and he sang a little bit of Happy Birthday. The total cost of the afternoon tea was $358.00 it was so not worth it. Would not recommend it to anyone 😩

This was a horrific, overpriced experience. The waiter did not want us to pick our own tea flavors, was not friendly or attentive, made mistakes on food, and more. When we told the manager, nothing was done except the waiter coming over to explain defensively why he was not wrong or doing anything bad. Not what I expected for the price of this tea or the reputation it has. A terrible experience for what should have been a wonderful occasion

Although it doesn’t look like a lot, the signature tea meal was very filling and we especially enjoyed the salmon and caviar. The sweets were mostly very good although some were a bit sweeter than we like.

The food was ok , the staff did the minimum nothing more, there was a tacky party going on with a girl lying down with a glass of champagne and her feet prompt up on a couch … hardly what I had expected … the English tea was fabulous , the cakes disappointing … I was underwhelmed and felt it over priced . NOT the experienced we were hoping for … pass this one by …..

The Palm Court at The Plaza was a wonderful. A friendly atmosphere and beautiful accommodations. The staff will certainly make you feel special. The afternoon tea service is well worth it. The servings of tea are delicious. The food was beautifully plated and tasted just as good as it looked. Our dining experience was a pleasure.

Service was quite disappointing, especially considering the 50% service fee included on our bill. While the food and tea were fine, the service overall was just shockingly poor. One example: I had a big fly into my champagne and the waiter watched me try to get it out, even coming over to see what we were looking at, and as I explained that a bug had flown into my drink he just replied with “oh okay” and walked off - no offer to assist or get another glass. Overall I was disappointed with just how much the experience and service has deteriorated over the years. I have always loved bringing visiting guests for tea at The Plaza because it was a special New York City experience, but after such a disappointing visit I will look for alternatives in the future.

Sadly the Palm Court has lost it’s elegance of the past - most guests are wearing shorts and t-shirts, and the ambiance is very touristic. The tea was over steeped, and for 430 dollars (for three people) that is an issue indeed. The tea sandwiches were nothing special, sadly. The renovation that was done looks a bit tacky, especially the lounge where you might have to wait before being seated : blue lights covered in disney-esque motifs. For the price, it is definitely not worth it.

I have been going to Palm Court tea for 30 years. Before refurbishment and new management, the food quality, decor, and pastry serving dishes were better. It now feels crowded with bar in middle and tables squeezed together. No longer gives the feeling of Versailles as it once did. Food quality is not as good as before. Is overpriced for the quality of food and ambiance.

The palm court has a nice ambiance. That said, the tea has gone downhill -- the food simply wasn't up to standard. The sandwiches were dry and not freshly made and the desserts were not tasty - either too sweet or just tasted bad. The tea water wasn't hot or refreshed.

The Plaza Hotel is iconic, as is The Palms for Afternoon Tea, so it would be difficult not to be impressed. Having said that, for me and my party, there was something missing in the experience. I think it was the waiters. They did not smile. They were not particularly welcoming. Somehow, they made the experience less than. A pity for it truly is something that should be superb, especially for the price.
