My mom was in NY and I took her to the Palm Restaurant and we had a blast! Thank you!!
My daughter and I went for fancy tea. The food was entirely inedible (hers and mine) and they were different. The food came out beautifully, but after tasting it, we were done. $200 spent in literally 15 minutes. We went for nostalgia and left hungry and disappointed.
Great tea time with family!
I really wanted to like the place.
Got there on time, was told by the maitre that it will be a few minutes until our table is ready,
No big deal, just counted 20+ empty tables and only a few seated but if that’s how they manage their spacing…
Got seated, got menus,
Order was taken in a swift enough manner.
Asked “with champagne” which we didn’t want, turned around and wasn’t seen again (our waiter that is)
Food came out, nothing impressive
A few sandwiches were stale and probably prepped by 9-10am for our afternoon lunch,
Sandwich bread beginning to crust.
(Normally not a big deal, for $100pp it kinda is)
Asked the server who brought the food for cocktails,…
Never got them. (Thanks for watching our budget)
Scones were good. Desserts were 50-50.
It was worth a try, several places which do a better job with high tea.
Waitstaffs suits / vests could use a regular dry cleaning.
Thinking of the plaza being 5* and top of the line;
Why don’t they enforce a dress code? I understand it’s 2021 and times change, but flip flops, tank tops, sunglasses and baseball hats shouldn’t be acceptable.

We had tea for 2, and not only was it very delicious, it was an unforgetable experience.
We had a spectacular time! This was a long-awaited special event, and our server made it very special! The food was delicious, and the ambience everything we hoped for. Highly recommend!
The gluten-free high tea was amazing! I would definitely go again!
Amazing Tea time and service. Would definitely go back.
Opulent, occasion-marking at its best! We opted for one Manhattan and one Plaza Signature Teas. Lobster medallion and Foie Gras Torchon were exquisite! Given the very hot day, the kitchen was kind enough to accommodate a request for iced tea. Lovely, memorable afternoon. Everyone should have Tea at The Plaza at least once!
It was our anniversary and the staff was amazing. I puked highly recommend for any occasion or just because.
The architecture is amazing, historic, beautiful and breathtaking. The elegant high tea is worth a visit. The food is excellent with sandwiches and scones, the cakes are okay. It would have been a better experience if the waiter hadn't asked us every five minutes after we almost finished our meal if everything was good.
The staff were wonderful.
The service was amazing. Very attentive. They even brought my picky daughter two extra pieces of the cheesecake as that was all she would eat.
High tea…,special mother daughter day
Nice experience but very overpriced
Was disappointed in the food
Lui our Yorkers birthday 🥳
Was good. I’m not happy about 30 extra dollars to share high tea. And it was Hot in there!
When you come here, keep in mind you are paying for the name and not really the food. That was difficult for us to accept when it was all done. The tea room of course is amazing, but the food definitely lacked for the price you pay. We somewhat expected this going in but it was on a whole different level. A few food items were really good, but most were just average. Tea was very good however!
Very enjoyable experience for a special occasion.
Quite an experience!
I was there to celebrate my kids birthday.. I ordered kids afternoon tea and everything was fantastic.. the only thing was in the billing time.. after I paid the servant came and asked me to give him tips.. I can’t because I have to pay one time not twice..
Absolutely excellent - Eloise for youngest granddaughter. Prices have definitely increased since my last pre-covid visit. First server was replaced (thankfully) with an exceptional gentleman, Elvis. Highest marks possible from this foodie. He made it all the more special an occasion. I do miss the live music, the piano, harp, strings of years past. The only negative to this close to perfect day was the champagne prices were far, far too high. Again, Thank You, Elvis !
Incredible experience with 5 star service from every staff member at The Plaza Hotel but especially from Shalin who went above and beyond to give us and exceptional experience.
The Staff was incredible
It was incredible! The ambiance was quaint with soft classical music playing, and the food was delish. They adjusted the menu to be fully vegetarian, which I appreciated.
This is a review for afternoon tea. Excellent experience, fantastic location and setting. The sandwiches 4.5/5, sweets 5/5, scones 4.5/5, tea 5/5. The service could have been stronger - did not feel that there was the level of attention to detail or warmth that I would have expected -- nevertheless, it was good. I would still recommend this classic afternoon tea as one of the best in the city.
Absolutely perfect and worth the price. Take your time and enjoy every morsel!
I’m not sure didn’t seem worth the outrageous price
Absolutely lovely day with my daughter. We will certainly be back.
Best quality sandwiches I’ve ever had at tea. All the desserts were too sugary. Also, they don’t replenish any of your sandwiches or scones. Every afternoon tea I’ve ever been to in England always asks if you want more of anything.
It was amazing
Amazing ambience, went for Afternoon Tea and they provided a great vegan version
Poor service by staff, and poor food quality for price point.
The people in shorts and jeans ruined the vibe. It’s been a while since I came for tea here but it’s not what it once was. Luckily I did find some better high teas during my stay that were worth checking out.
Fun experience. Our waiter was outstanding. Got my daughter pink plate and napkin which was nice.
Mary Alice was wonderful!!! She was very attentive without being too much. She helped us make choices and made the experience that much better!!
The Eloise tea was absolutely delightful! My 3 boys enjoyed it so much. I highly recommend requesting your lemonade in a small cup with a straw for the under 5 crowd. They serve it in a highball and my 3yo was much happier with a cup he could maneuver. My older boys had the hot tropical tea and I enjoyed the earl grey. Lovely way to spend the afternoon.
Afternoon tea… the tray was presented but it had obviously been sitting out for quite a while. . The bread on the sandwiches was stale and has begun to dry out. For the price I felt portions were skimpy.
The afternoon tea was fabulous along with our wonderful server. We will definitely be back!
