The Palm Court was our first stop in NY for Afternoon Tea. It was our first time dining here and it was wonderful. Our waitress was very helpful and the “New Yorker” was amazing! It’s definitely a must do for your time here in the city.
We went to Palm Court for Afternoon Tea. It met all expectations. There was a large variety of tea which we both were able to find one we liked. We both ordered the same thing, which wasn’t a bad idea since everything is small portions it would be difficult share. That being said, we left full. It was an experience that did take nearly 2 hours so it’s definitely something to be savored. Our waiter was efficient but I heard other wait staff explain more of the details to their patrons. We were okay with adventuring by taste of the condiments on the table but some may prefer to know what they are before they taste. All in all it was a great experience we will remember for some time!
Every member of staff took very good care of us not only n the day but prior to it also. Fantastic value for money. We're so glad we shared memories of our day at Palm Court and The Plaza.
First visit to NYC
Totally overrated and overpriced.
If you've had tea at the Langham or Savoy or pretty much any high end hotel in London then this might disappoint you as it did me.
Service was slow.
Food was average
You are paying for the name not the experience in my opinion.
High tea, it was wonderful, great teas, great food! A little pricey but worth the experience!
The Plaza Hotel is not the same. Ridiculously overpriced and over run with tourists. I will never go back.
Spectacular. They even brought out some special macaroons for my birthday. The only thing is that it is super expensive-but the experience is worth it!
Amazing, as always!
Food: Decent, nothing special, for tea even, especially at that price point. Service: Waiter never returned after serving tea -- not a huge deal; we flagged down another. Ambiance: Definitely a pretty space, but way, way, way too touristy if you are a NYer looking for a quiet, elegant meal. The plaza would do well to enforce a dress code and discourage, say, hovering around the space taking all-important instagram photos. For $120 a "plate" I'd prefer not to eat in a boiling sea of logowear t-shirts and embroidered jeans. Should have known better.
Granddaughter birthday for Eloise Tea.
Too crowded with disheveled tourists. Reservation for 3pm made through Open Table was useless because they had no table ready. Had to wait almost half an hour. Tea sandwiches ok.
The ladies room dirty. Vast difference from her first Eloise tea “experience” , as they call it, from 6 years ago.
my teenagers didnt like the food & there was only the New Yorker for them. staff didnt cime to the table much & still demanded a 15% tip which was an extra $58
Tea, atmosphere and service was excellent.
Afternoon tea Food was just okay. Bar food was better.
What an experience for myself & my 11 year old daughter! The atmosphere and service was just top notch! The food was fresh and tea amazing! We will never forget the experience of having tea at this landmark hotel !
I have been wanting to do High Tea at The Plaza for sometime. It was worth every dollar. Absolutely loved it. Highly recommend.
Our server, Ursula, was lovely. She made the tea experience so special for my 5-year old niece. The food was delicious and a perfect portion. The champagne was crisp and the tea was so fragrant. Ambiance here cannot be beat!
Have had tea at the Plaza Palm Court before. It is always lovely and the food and wait staff is excellent. We had a reservation at 3 pm and waited until 3:30 before we were seated. What’s up with that? There were plenty of tables available...
Average experience. Expected a lot more from the price and venue
My daughters birthday
Service was disappointing and that lowered overall expectations.
Beautiful place and mediocre service, especially on a busy weekend like Valentine’s Day weekend.
The food was basically raw vegetables
Wonderful Valentine’s Day meal. Excellent service and fantastic food.
the cocktails were amazing we had the white cosmopolitan
Found Afternoon Tea to be quite disappointing. Service was SLOW. Tea was outstanding, as were the gluten free scones, but everything else left much to be desired.
We love it there but it’s definitely not where you’d go for a good value!
We enjoyed the experience. However, the wait staff could have been more attentive.
We brought our grandchildren to New York for some important firsts - including afternoon tea at the Plaza! It was excellent in every way!
We arrived on time for our reservation and we waited an hour to be seated. I expect better from the Palm Court. They gave us complementary champagne, but an hour wait with a reservation is unexceptionable. We watched multiple guests get seated before our party of three. Then our server was unavailable for most of the time. We often had to flag down other servers for assistance. I’ve been here many times and I was excited to bring my friend here to celebrate her birthday. She was underwhelmed to say the least. It was only five minutes after we sat down when a server plopped down her birthday macaroons and ran off. They didn’t even say her name or sing. I never would have come back if I knew the service was going to be so substandard. The gluten free food was fantastic and the tea was great, but the service was pretty bad.
It was an excellent experience that my 9 year old won't soon forget.
always a fun treat to go there for afternoon tea.
Restaurant was very cold
Didn’t feel like a priority
Had to ask to refill water glass
Restaurant week dinner was way to small to satisfy anyone
Most tastes good except crudeti
We recently visited the Palm Court for a special occasion - the first anniversary of my wife's heart transplant. We have been to the Palm Court before and this visit did not disappoint. We ordered the New Yorker Tea, and everything on there was delicious as usual (although the plain scones were a little dry and disappointing, the strawberry scones were delicious). The tea sandwiches were on point, as were the mini-pastries. The atmosphere and venue were beautiful and the service and staff were accommodating, friendly and wonderful. Our server, Kazi, made the entire experience that much better. His service and attitude were impeccable, and when he found out what the anniversary was for, he went above and beyond to make my wife feel special - he took many pictures for us and expressed his happiness for my wife's journey. We always look forward to a day at The Plaza and look forward to many more visits in the future.
Wonderful experience. Service was excellent.
It was so worth it!! Went for restaurant week and the set-up was kinda similar to an afternoon tea. I would definitely love to go back!!!
A must to do while you are in the city. Great experience and great service. Fourth generation to be making memories.
