The iconic Palm Court at The Plaza hotel with a complete renovation helmed by Master Architect Thierry Despont. The Palm Court showcases classic American savory menus from morning to evening, while Despont has brought the grand feeling of Central Park indoors, creating an ambience that feels warm, private and glamorous. Bespoke furnishings provide a relaxed, yet elegant setting well-suited for either a professional breakfast meeting or an evening of cocktails crafted by mixologist Brian Van Flandern. Afternoon Tea truly shines with custom tableware and china, a tea list with worldly depth, and of course, a bit of Eloise too. Pastry Chef Matthew Lambie creates unique dessert experiences that effortlessly combine both classic and modern elements, while staying true to the Palm Court grandeur. This elegant room marked with its stained glass dome and impressive height adds a touch of old New York to a very polished and modern sense of hospitality.

Kazi, our waiter, was attentive and kind. Best experience ever at the Palm. In the past, I felt that they couldn’t have cared less about their guests. Kazi changed my opinion of the Palm.

We had a good time ! Went for afternoon tea. The sandwiches were delicious! But the desserts were soso. If you like lemon flavoured stuff you would like it! Place was nice for pictures.

Excellent experience that I would recommend to anyone, especially for a special occasion, four of us went as a birthday celebration and the waiters sang happy birthday with little cakes and a candle, lovely touch. There are two choices of afternoon tea menus of sandwiches, cakes and scones, several choices of teas and champagne. Can’t praise it enough, friendly staff that made you feel very welcome. The ambiance was great. A lovely dining experience.

The decor and ambience was very romantic. The mosaic ceiling was a marvel. The tea and dishes were excellent. My boyfriend and I had a nice afternoon tea to belatedly celebrate our anniversary, and The Plaza did not disappoint. Thank you!

I organised a 50th birthday afternoon tea and my party consisted of for 2 vegans and 2 vegetarians. I gave the Palm a months notice and checked in with them about this a week before to confirm dietary requirements were in hand. I was told they were. The afternoon tea was the worst I’ve had. Sandwiches tastes awful with a strong tomato taste and the scones kept breaking and there were no real cakes for the vegan. Service was good but food not at all. Waste of money and the experience to be honest. Setting was beautiful and the staff were pleasant. A cake for the birthday lady was Turkish delight or some jelly cubes. Not great at all for a special occasion.

Went for breakfast, ordered off the menu instead of breakfast buffet.
Server came around our table and poured everyone a glass of orange juice without mentioning anything or asking. At the end, he had charged us $12 per glass. We had thought it was complimentary. He should have mentioned something. Food was average.

I had quite lovely afternoon tea at Palm Court. Immediately when I walked in, I smelled a floral scent in the air. I noticed all the beautiful floral arrangements so beautifully placed around the room.

The tea set was lovely. White with a light green and silver stripe going around the top. My favorite finger sandwich was the cucumber & mint. Delicious! The tea can easily be for up to 3 persons, which I recommend as it was a lot for 1 person, me. And a must see, is the beautiful painting of "Eloise"!

Thank you for making my birthday celebration so memorable! a bientot!

The service was very poor when you spent that much money. It felt like They couldn’t get me out fast enough.
The waiter kept on standing right behind me during the entire meal.
For 90$ you should spent your money somewhere else.

My son and I having been dreaming of going to afternoon tea here for years. He’s moving to California in a week so we celebrated by having the tea! Every bite was delicious. The atmosphere was exactly what we wanted. So fancy but yet comfortable. We had so much fun! My only suggestion is to make sure you know the price of the water before you get it!

After working in hospitality for 3 1/2 years in London I’ve experienced, learnt and taught 5 Star service.
-The servers seemed genuinely uninterested in being there. With no sense of the company they were representing.
-Weren’t trying to be engaging with their guests (us or anyone else in the restaurant, happy to talk amongst themselves)
-I happen to have 2 coffees at breakfast yet I finished my 1st and then when the empty cup was finally taken from my table, no offer for another just a drop of the bill (which I didn’t ask for!) I almost couldn’t believe it, it’s a sign to the guest that it’s time to go which I do not appreciate.
-Butter and Jam already on the table when we arrived, you might feel you’re being prepared but I guarantee anyone that comes in the first thing they will think seeing that is “How long has that been sitting there?” “Has another guest touched it or was it their’s to begin with and it’s been forgotten and just left on my table?”
Then once we ordered our food (neither of us ordered any toast or anything that would require butter or jam) it was still left on the table. Anything that a customer is not using and isn’t likely to use shouldn’t be there. If you take it away and then after my main meal I ask for some toast/bagel/English muffin then feel free to bring it back but it doesn’t need to be there when we first arrive or when you know we haven’t ordered any toast.
-Sugar cubes in plastic packaging, besides being 100% a waste of plastic it’s more cost effective for you to buy in bulk loose cubes (sugar tongs for serving) The extra plastic was never removed from the table, only cleared once the dirty plates were. This is not showing an eye for details and for a very quiet time of the morning with plenty of servers to go around I expect them to keep an eye on the tables.
- Finally the price, if I was getting top notch service then I honestly wouldn’t mind paying $12 for a coffee, however that’s not what I received... Disappointing.

We booked afternoon tea for a birthday celebration. I had the Champagne tea while my friend had the New Yorker. My only criticism is that they did not explain the pastries and sandwiches as is typically done at other teas I have attended. The scones with clotted cream were delicious and they even brought an additional plate of pastries with a candle for my birthday. I was overall quite pleased with the experience, and would definitely book again.

My daughters gluten free afternoon tea was good, particularly the cakes. Scones not brilliant, but the normal scones weren’t either, didn’t come close to English scones. Very mean with the cream, but thought we would probably be charged if we asked for more!
Felt we were being rushed choosing our tea, I twice asked for longer to consider the choices.
Our server did not explain what we were being served, just pointed out we had sandwiches, scones and cake, pretty self explanatory, would have been nice to have had more detailed descriptions.
You are paying for where you are and the experience more than the food itself. I was glad we did it, but can’t say it was worth $200 for an hours experience for two.
A very beautiful hotel, but was very disappointed that the flowers were fake!
Had better afternoon tea experiences for less money. Fortnum and Mason in London was exceptional.

A beautiful afternoon spent at High Tea at the Plaza. We had booked in advance, and I had advised them that I needed the gluten free menu. They were on top of everything from the moment we arrived. Fabulous service and fabulous food (including a completely gluten free high tea). Couldn't fault and well worth the money. A notable thing to do whilst in NYC.

Wonderful afternoon tea to celebrate my nieces 50 th birthday & her daughters 11 th birthday. They made it very special with a candle in macaroons & the waiters
