The Painted Lady Ratings and Reviews
Incredible food; combinations perfectly well thought out; chef outdid himself; even made special food for my food allergy without compromising a thing. Delicious. Wine pairing was perfect, service was beyond great, attentive, friendly, informative. Anniversary for us made perfect. We were thrilled. Our experience was impressive. Thank you.
If you like great food and great wine this is your place. 9 course meal either with wine pairings or bottle/‘s you order. Service was phenomenal, wine selection was great encompassing all types of varietals from regions all over the world. I am not always as adventurous as I should be when it comes to food. I can honestly say I ate every course and even the ones that were not necessarily my thing, were awesome! This is truly a food and wine experience and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Must do if your in Willamette Valley!
Wow! A not 9 but 10 course dinner and it scored 10 out of 10 with both of us! From beginning to end we were awed by the creativity of combinations of different flavors and ingredients. The salad, soup, fish, meat and desserts were rolled out quickly- not too quick and the explanations were thorough regarding each dish. The wine selection is wonderful. We would return in a heartbeat but we live in Indianapolis so will have to wait a while. The servers were nothing but smiles and helpful to us at all times.
We went to the Painted Lady for an anniversary dinner and we can't say enough great things about this restaurant. The entire staff was incredible from start to finish and was attentive to every detail. The food was phenomenal and probably one of the best dining experiences I have ever had.
The food was amazing. We felt as though we were on a culinary safari. Each dish had new and unusual combinations of flavors, all beautifully plated. At first I thought the small plates would leave me hungry but I was quite full at the end of the meal and forced myself to finish every dish because they were wonderful. Even the plates and bowls complimented the food. The only reason I did not give the restaurant five stars was the waiter. He was very cold and abrupt. He explained the dish at lightening speed as though he was reading from a script and disappeared before we could ask any questions. We asked him at the end of the meal for a copy of the menu and the wine pairing list which he told us he would happily provide. He handed us a menu as we left that did not reflect our meal at all and did not include the wines. We both felt that he did not take us seriously and that ruined the experience for us.
Easily a top 5 meal of my life. The location is small which lends to a VIP feel. Service was amazing. Wine was decently priced. Each of the 10 courses offered exciting and unexpected flavors. Expensive but well worth it for a special occassion. Unforgettable
The staff was amazing and attentive. The chef was awesome at creating vegetarian options for my daughter. Each plate was artistically put together and tasted wonderful. We were very full by the end of our 3 hour meal. This was for my daughters birthday and she even left with a special birthday dessert from the chef.
Although expensive an outstanding and very interesting evening. Food carefully prepared and beautifully presented. The explanations by the wait staff were interesting and helpful. They were friendly and knowledgeable about the flow and the wine. Very relaxing and unhurried.
We have eaten at the Painted Lady several times. As always, the setting was beautiful, and the service was excellent. Unfortunately, this time it seems that the chef was trying a bit too hard to push the edges. Some of the courses were excellent, but some like the steak and the dessert were actually bad. The steak was over salted, not tender, and the accompanying veggies were bitter. The main cheesecake dessert just totally missed the taste mark. We have had exceptional meals here, so I hope they make some changes, and quit trying so hard that they fail.
If you're looking for a very quiet place to enjoy unique food paired with excellent wines, this is it. Situated in an remodeled older home with unique Victorian style decor the setting is perfect for a quiet dinner on your anniversary or similar celebration. We had the 9 course meal paired with wines on 7 of the courses. Although the servings may appear small you're feeling pretty full before the final courses appear.
Well worth waiting for the 9 pm seating. Given the time, we chose the five versus nine course. Each plate was beautifully presented and the flavores, on each, managed to range from subtle to distinctive. Given another visit to this area, we would come for the nine course. The wine pairings were well chosen.
Over all foods are very good, some of the ingredients can use most fresh one can make the dish even better. The beans in the steak can be better. The soup with fried vegetables with oily taste destroy the perfect miso custard soup, can consider use bake to make those ingredients dry and crisp to avoid the oily taste. The chef presenting food with passion.
We had a totally elegant meal with impeccable service. the presentation of the 9 courses was very artistic and the dishes were very unique and delicious. The flight of wines coordinated very well with the various courses. We had a bonus dessert surprise because it was our 40th wedding anniversary.
