The Oven - Downtown
Very reasonable Indian food in a prime Haymarket location.
Food was delicious. Charlie is great with wine recommendations!
Everything was great
Excellent food and drinks. We will definitely be back.
Excellent food, great tastes and good value for money, took home left overs for lunch. Waitress was very polite and helpful with choices. Will definitely go again and recommend.
Birthday dinner with wife and parents. Shrimp Pakoras, Chana Masala, Paneer Kulcha all before main dishes. All good. Chana Masala always so good. Usually get vindaloo if different proteins. Went with Kadai Gosht
Always outstanding. Best restaurant in Lincoln.
I think this is one of the best Indian restaurants I have ever been to and that is a whole lot of Indian food all over the world...only other restaurant that comes close is in Greenwich England.
The food was spicier than usual but still delicious. Our server was great. They take celiac seriously so the gluten free food is safe, which we really appreciate!
Great overall experience but wish staff could’ve been more flexible to accommodate seating arrangements.
The Oven is exceptional as always. The wine list is the best in the city and the food is absolutely exceptional and filled with quality ingredients and very well made.
As always excellent food and service , the spices are applied to the food in a loving way and the entire staff cares that you are happy.
Good food, good ambience, but understaffed and poor service dampened our experience.
The TABLE under the stairs is back!...Nosh Board...Spinach Dip...Remarkable Sparkling Rose...visit with our friend Charlie...(I have been told he is the BEST sommelier in Lincoln)...could not ask for a better evening! Thank you!
Excellent food. They have a very fine selection of food and wine. I highly recommend.
Seating was too close on the bench. I could hear conversations on both sides of us. I’ll ask for a table next time.
We come from Omaha to eat here, and love our meal everytime.
Went for Sat lunch buffet- all was good, with excellent choice.
We have always had excellent service at the Oven. The food is wonderful!
Indian food...very good...but the reason we go to The Oven...our friend Charlie down in The Cellar...the Nosh Board expertly prepared...the cocktails...well crafted...the wine...give Charlie your preferences and he knows what to present...but the most fun...let him pick ....you will not be disappointed...thank you!
Love the food so much. The soup is the best thing around
Such lovely atmosphere, service and awesome food. YuMWanT❤️❗️🐝
This was my first visit for my birthday and it was awesome.
Very delicious and satisfying food. Wait staff are helpful. Never disappointed with my service. I order the Chicken Tikka Korma and I am in love. I always order regular Naan as well. Maybe offer Naan for free and then when asked for another serving of Naan, put a price on it.
One of our favorite date night spots! Great service and great food!
The food was delicious. The service was terrible. Forgotten food items including a bottle of wine after asking twice. Empty water glasses the majority of the time as well. We left without ever getting the wine. We were pretty bummed because we were there for a special occasion and it definitely put a damper on our dinner with friends.
I’ve been to The Oven several times and had great experiences, but unfortunately that was not the case for this visit. Our group of 8 were in town for a show. Our server, Chuck, was extremely rude. I asked a question about a menu item and he condescendingly responded with, “We serve Indian food here.” And offered no help or response to my question. He was short with the other people at the table while ordering and throughout the meal. I love the food at The Oven, but of the group of 8 of us, this was the first time for 5 of the people present. Unfortunately those 5 have a poor impression of The Oven, as do I.
The food was very good and the service was outstanding. I would highly recommend you try the Oven.
The Oven downtown is a dining standard for my wife and I. The food and service are consistently excellent. If you enjoy Indian food, this is your place in Lincoln.
The Oven is one of Lincoln's finest restaurants. The Indian dishes are authentic and absolutely delicious. The servers are excellent - the water glasses are refilled and you don't ever have to wait to get attention. The atmosphere is warm and romantic with Indian masks and artwork on the walls, subdued lighting and a panoramic window view of Lincoln's Haymarket. I'd definitely recommend The Oven for a fun night out with friends or family, a romantic date night, or anytime you are in the mood for delicious Indian cuisine.
The Oven provided one of the best dining experience I have had in a long time. The service, atmosphere, food and overall experience were fabulous! I will be back!!
I've never had a bad dish. Quality at a very reasonable cost. The Chicken Tikka Masala is excellent if you like a spice.
My only complaint is that the menu has too many options.
Very busy evening before the James Taylor concert but ALWAYS excellent food and professional service!...that mulligatawny soup is sublime...YES top with a squeeze of lemon...Thank you!
Great ambience but food was not up to par from previous meals at The Oven. The lamb was a little tough and the Naan was not as good.
One of our favorite place to eat here in town. Food is always great and the service is fantastic.
Best restaurant in Lincoln. Owners are committed to their customers. Dishes are a Lincoln treasure.
I have eaten at The Oven downtown several times and I have NEVER been disappointed. The food is always amazing and so is the service. It is by far my favorite restaurant in Lincoln. I will remain a loyal customer for many years to come.
We always enjoy the Oven and were recently there for our daughter's birthday. As always, the food was outstanding. There were some issues with service--the waitress was friendly, but forgot to bring the drinks until reminded. One of the dishes we ordered was a masala dish, but instead a curry was substituted. The main order was rushed out before we had finished our appetizers (admittedly a pet peeve). The restaurant was more crowded than usual, so it is possible that our recent experience was out of the norm. As mentioned, the food is excellent, and the ambiance is very warm and sophisticated.
We have always been fans.
The Oven is our go-to date night restaurant. We always have the best service, food and experience!
