The Oven - Downtown
Fresh spinach baked with paneer, cream cheese, and Indian seasonings, served with naan crisps.
Tender chunks of lamb simmered in a creamy curry sauce.
Boneless chicken marinated in yogurt and fresh ground spices then cooked in the tandoor and served on rice.
The Oven is a fantastic place to go for any occasion. Their food is always delicious and I’ve never experienced anything but excellent service! I got carry out several times during COVID restrictions. Thank you to The Oven for remaining open during these challenging times!
The food at The Oven never disappoints! From hummus and naan, to salmon madras- my taste buds are bursting with flavor. For an extra treat request to sit downstairs and have Charles serve you. He is top notch and knows and menu and wine list extensively.
Unexpectedly great Indian Food in Lincoln! Great flavors and appropriate portions.
For 2 of our 6, this was their first ever experience with Indian cuisine. It wont be their last! Great food and great time for us all! Highly recommended!
I felt safe dining inside, as staff was using the protocol set by the city.
Food was gross 🤢🤮🤢🤮🥴🤮
Our meal was outstanding and our service was great. We celebrated our sons 21st birthday tonight and we all had a great time.
We think our server forgot to put in our order. It took a very long time to get our food. We are disappointed that we made a reservation and still could not sit outside. The portions were much smaller than usual.
Great experience as we enjoyed the food. We really would recommend it.
There are very few places in Lincoln like The Oven...our favorite spot is The Cellar...table under the stairs...order the Nosh board for a sensory feast!...whether you are new to wine or an old pro...Charles Ludwig the Sommelier will enhance your evening with THE perfect wine...as always thank you for a lovely evening and we will see you soon! 😊
Great service. Food came out fast, food was delicious. Even with Covid restrictions it was great.
So good, definitely coming back! The food and service were both amazing.
The place had great food.realky good location in the Haymarket.
Not too much flavor and not spicy. The soup is much better than the salad as a starter. Salad dressing was not good -- very tart -- one person could not even eat it. The main dishes were ok. Best item was the naan bread -- garlic and one with raisins and cashews -- it was good dipped in sauce or soup.
The Oven has been the meeting place of choice for 20 years for friends coming back to Lincoln to visit. The food, service and ambiance are always wonderful.
We always love going to the Oven. I appreciated the efforts made for social distancing while maintaining a comfortable atmosphere for my family to enjoy the meal.
The Oven Downtown never disappoints. Delicious
Vast menu selection! Amazing food, amazing service, amazing everything! Delicious!!
Everything was great!
Great service as usual
Uncharacteristically, the server got one of our orders wrong. She was very apologetic and offered to bring the correct order but my dining companion was also gracious and took what she got. We were on our way to the Lied Center.
The Oven is worth a visit, or like us its worth a number of revisits!
Great atmosphere. Delicious traditional Indian cuisine
Great food, wine list, and atmosphere. The service was a little lacking but OK.
It was Valentines evening, so very busy. Food was very good as well as the service. We love to get the nosh board downstairs!
Always love the food at the Oven but tonight it was a little below par (busy Valentine's Day). It rated a 3 star but the service was so good it helped the overall score. We had a great, personable and attentive server and it made the experience more enjoyable. It was an off night food wise but we'll be back.
Food was amazing, service was on point. Not much else I need to say!
I absolutely adore The Oven in its Haymarket location. The staff has always been friendly and kind, and the food has never disappointed.
AMAZING. I would without a doubt go back and this is my favorite place in Lincoln
We always have the same dish, but we mix it up with drinks or dessert (yes, they don't really tell you that they have dessert, but they do!!). Charlie, the sommelier, is SO incredibly knowledgeable not just about the huge variety and price points of the wines in The Cellar (which are available in the restaurant as well), but about wines in general. We enjoy chatting with him about wines as he recommends the perfect pairing for our dish. Very enjoyable and very affordable.
Wonderful as always
Our waitress was great! She was training a new waiter and she was very attentive and super friendly. I wish I could remember her name. The table next to us had a different waitress and she had her hands on her hips and was getting into our space so we had to keep dodging her elbows so we didn’t get hit. It was only a bit disruptive but when she noticed we were dodging her she worked to adjust it.
Nye was a blast!
Made reservations here at the last minute for NYE and wasn’t disappointed. The food was great, service was prompt despite the crazy amount of people in the restaurant. Kudos to being busy but still showing us a good time.
A vast menu. Consistently excellent dishes. Love trying new ones, but hard to go away from ones you love. Huge wine list. Excellent craft cocktail menu, creative and delicious.
We love The Oven, especially the downtown location. We tried a few “new” dishes this time and were not disappointed! Loved the spinach paneer dip and the mixed appetizer dish. We love The Oven!
My family and I have been going to The Oven for years, for celebration and for the food. The breads are truly outstanding, but we all have our favorite dishes, from Tandoori chicken to Lamb Madras, not to mention the soup.
Our favorite it Lincoln. Great wine list. Outstanding Indian dishes.
Great for a date night. Good service and great food.
I took my lady on a date and we had an amazing evening. We were seated in the cellar where the sommelier Charlie helped us pick out a great bottle of wine to pair with our meal that we would both enjoy. I frequently eat at similar casual fine dining restaurants in California so I was extremely pleased with the value of the wine selection and service. It’s great that Lincoln has this quality of experience at an affordable price. Thanks Charlie!
