The Original Capo's Restaurant & Speakeasy Ratings and Reviews
We had a reservation for 11:15 and were seated promptly. The server also took our order within 3 minutes of being seated. Then we sat and waited. At least 3 people came over and asked if we were doing okay. We continued to sit and wait from 11:18 until 11:45 when our waiter came back and stated our food would be ready in about 5 more minutes. There were only 2 other couples in the place. Our food came at 11:55. Our omelettes were served in a plate of liquid and the fried potatoes were steamed and soggy too. We ordered the same dish we had the previous time that we were there because it was so delicious. They said the liquid was from the meat )Italian chopped beef. We left and will not be returning. Horrible experience. And we were planning to add this to our family reunion restaurant list. No way!!
Amazing find that you will want to tell friends and family visiting Vegas to include in their plans. The singer featured there is first rate and a perfect accompaniment to the atmosphere and dining experience provided. The Italian food is authentic and the Cesar salad served here is honestly the best I've had anywhere including what I have been served at very expensive restaurants. Give this place a try.
We had a wonderful dinner, authentic italian, delicious meatballs as an appetizer and great wine choices by the bottle or glass. The dark wood and textured walls made it feel swanky. The singer was fun too! All the best of Frank Sinatra. It was well worth getting away from the strip and experiencing this dinner.
Have been there many times but no more. Had reservation for two and when the host seated us it was a table right next to the restrooms. I asked for a table in the main dining room due to the dining room being empty and the host replied that we had to sit where he sat us because they do not seat parties of 2 in the main dining room. So we left and went elsewhere. That host is a slob that has worked there way too long and is killing the business.
Everything there was amazing!! Entering Capo was the first awesome thing, I won't spoil on how but it definitely takes you by surprise and sets the mood along with atmosphere that take you a bit back in time. The service was excellent, very attendant and nice. The food was a real delight!! Authentic and excellent flavors, nothing was a disappointment. Everything was well seasoned, had flavor, balance, warming, and the best part, filling. Definitely going back.
Good food, reasonable prices, and good singer but it is not a quiet restaurant so not a place for quiet conversation. Also, it was quite smoky due to the grilling (and weak ventilation?) so while it's a fun place reminiscent of old Las Vegas, I'm not sure we will head back. We did have a guest that was gluten-free and she loved all of the choices available to her so that was good.
The reviews were great and set our expectations for the "mob" experience and terrific food. We were greeted as we were entering a speakeasy but the mob experience ended there. The place was extremely dark and it was fun that they gave you flashlights with your menu, but we didn't like that we couldn't see the place to feel confident about it's cleanliness. The bathrooms felt like school stalls and the carpet didn't look great which added to our uneasiness about feeling a bit uncertain. The appetizers were good, and the group said the recommended meatballs were really good, and the fried ravioli was good. I had to ask for my drink 4 times so not sure where that communication problem was with the bar. Overall nobody was thrilled with their meal, it was ok.
We had read a lot or reviews about this restaurant and finally were able to try it out on our last trip to Las Vegas! I must tell you that when we were dropped off by our Uber driver, we were a little skeptical about what we had reserved for dinner! It looked like an old Pizza Hut that had been transformed into another type of restaurant. Once through the secret door, we were impressed from the server through the food. An awesome experience - a must do if you have never tried a speak-easy.
Still a fun place to visit but the food isn't quite as good as it used to be. For pasta dishes that are well over $20, we expect the quality to remain high. The meatballs used to be the best in town but they were super dry this time and lacked any flavor other than intense garlic. I would definitely go back as I know the food can be good here but they need to improve on consistency.
The best restaurant in Las Vegas. From the speakeasy entrance (picture of Al Capone opens to ask you for your password, the flashlights for the menu, the magician that entertains you at your table between courses, and the food.
I have worked in Italy and the food here was as good. I had a Fettuccine Alfredo which was the best I have ever had, My wife had a chicken parm and my daughter the NY Strip,
If I return to Vegas, Capo's will be on the top of my list.
Awesome meatball appetizer, wonderful chicken dishes and eggplant parmigiana. Bread is very tasty. Live entertainment when we were there so a little loud. Magician doing tricks at your table if you like. He was very good. Just a fun place to go. Very gangster (old school).
We tried out Capos after reading reviews online. We wanted something different from this Vegas vacation. Took a cab from the strip- about 15 minutes, and enjoyed a home style Italian meal. Location is a good distance from the strip but they will get you a cab or you can uber back. Ambiance is old school vegas, very dark inside to the point where they put little keychain flashlights on the menu! I enjoyed the bolognese pasta while my wife and her parents had chicken dishes. Cost was reasonable.
This was our third visit and every one has been great. The "speakeasy" atmosphere, the "secret" back entrance, the "mob" decor, the fantastic Italian food, the attentive service and the strolling "crooner" (a la Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett) are all plusses. This is one must-go spot every time we are in Las Vegas.
Very nice restaurant. We were treated like family. Staff was very accommodating and answered all our questions about the menu and services. Nice music, good singer and the magician was a nice added touch. We will definitely be making another reservation for our next night out.
From the authentic Wise guy Maitre D to our server Janeen who could be anyone's loving hilarious Italian sister, this place is a must-visit!
We would find Capo's well worth the cab ride from the strip for the atmosphere alone, but the food? Fa'geddabout it! I have an Irish name, but I also had a Sicilian Grandmother and Capo's took me right back to her kitchen. Do NOT deny yourself a meatball!
We will never visit Vegas without stopping by ever again!
I recently ate here and the speakeasy aspect was super cool. I loved the entrance and how they did it. Inside it's very dark and how I would imagine a speakeasy would be. The food from appetizer to entree was all spectacular with some of the best bruschetta I've ever had! Would highly recommend this place for a fun delicious dinner
