The speed the food was made was kind of slow. And the size of the whiskey sour was not worth $10. But the food was amazing and the service was as well.

Great place all around!

The meal was good. We had eggs Beni . The hashbrowns made the dinner- amazing crunch all around and moist and tasty inside. Excelent! Boozy shakes were novel but I wouldn't come back for them. Service was prompt and friendly. Atmosphere felt like work related or day time friendly, not an evening destination.

Kitchen had challenges with food orders. Ordered two omelettes, both came out wrong. Went back to kitchen and order brought out with both incorrect again. Wouldn't order an omelette again.

Nice, friendly service; large windows with downtown views. But the food was only OK, and the prices were a bit more expensive than warranted.

Came after seeing The Original on Diners, Drive Ins, and Drives and was not disappointed. Food was fantastic, server was attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Overall, a wonderful experience for me and my colleagues who were visiting from out of town. Definitely have already recommended to others when they are in Portland.

Another great experience! Love the Northwest Logger breakfast. The scrambled eggs are so incredibly fluffy and the pancakes so tasty. It’s a huge breakfast so I always have leftovers for another meal. The Eggs Benedict that my friend ordered looked good as well, although the meat was a little dry. It got a little loud when the lunch time was in full swing but it’s a fun ambiance overall. Service was good, although not as friendly as other servers we’ve had. I recommend The Original and will definitely go back!

Wonderful experience. Will definitely be back. Roughly my 10th time dining here. This time breakfast party of 4 people for my birthday. We stay at the hotel attached to the restaurant so it’s convenient for morning breakfast. Thank you for the birthday dessert! Super tasty cherry tart. Biscuits and gravy were nummy as was the huevos rancheros.

The Mexican omelet made for a great Christmas morning breakfast! Great service and great food, excellent prices for such a fun atmosphere. Only negative was the coffee. Just not very good which is probably more noticeable since it’s such a coffee driven city. I’ll definitely be back and I’m looking forward to trying out dinner.

We came in for breakfast, ordered a bloody Mary, large orange juice, Northwest Logger and the Chicken Fried Steak. For $12 I would have expected more of a larger size for the cocktail and for $7 for a large orange juice, that it would have been bigger.
As for the food itself, it was ok. The portions were definitely small for the price, making it almost not worthwhile. The chicken friend steak came out rare instead of medium which is the standard, as confirmed by the waiter when we asked. It was still bleeding on the plate and the portion was very very small. We also had to wait quite a while after we were finished eating for the check, since our waiter was too busy chit chatting with other servers and then attending to other tables before making his way back to our table.
Would not return for a breakfast experience, but perhaps dinner service.

Our service was impeccable! I tried Poutine for the first time. Tasty and messy! The food could be seasoned a bit more strongly, for instance, the gravy on the poutine was a bit bland. All in all a great experience and I will be returning with guests from out of town!

The original is an excellent dining experience...food is delicious, service is friendly and attentive, and the vibe is cool and relaxed...our favorite bite are the doughnut sliders, but ‘the people’s choice’ Bloody Mary was our favorite part of breakfast...would recommend the original to anyone and everyone

Great food. Inventive menu. Attentive staff. Reasonable prices. Can't ask for more. We especially loved the Croque Monsieur, the french fries poutine, and the sauted mushrooms. Drinks were also delicious. Free valet parking for dinner was also helpful, but they are also near the light rail line

Great ambiance and very nice servers! Nothing out of the Ordinary (no pun intended!) in terms of breakfast food but overall a really lovely option! Definitely would go back.

Adorable, lovely server, great cappuccino and a brilliant chicken with jalapeño waffles. The salmon Benedict was on the upside of okay.

Hash browns are cooked too much on the outside and not enough on the inside; they're also made in the form of a brick so there is quite a bit of uncooked potato.

We really enjoyed our breakfast at The Original. The ham on the eggs benedict was "off the bone", very lean and generous. The burrito was "as big as your head" and wonderful. Classic diner feel and great service.

Downtown parking. To be fair, I enjoy Ruben sandwiches but yours was so bad that I could not finish it. You served no condiments or chips with it. It really is very rare when I do not finish a meal or take home the rest. Even Arby's Rubens are superior which I tried once. My guests also mentioned the poor quality of the food and did not finish their meals or take home left-overs. They ordered a burger and a breakfast. It was simply gross. I am sorry but I would never recommend The Original to anybody. Your servers were great but your food is substandard and not fit for human consumption.

We’ve been a few times now and have enjoyed the food and service each time. There’s a fun, quirky vibe with great food and drink options. Great for kids, too.

Great selection of healthy and vegetarian choices for breakfast. The veggie sausage patty was killer, unlike any other, I have eaten. My friend had the delicious braised greens instead of potatoes and we both indulged in their extremely tasty biscuits.
