The food was outstanding! We had the She Crab Soup and the Kale salad for appetizers. Main entrees were the scallops and the lobster roll. In addition, the hush puppies. Everything was delicious, including the dinner rolls. The service was also good.
Loved the atmosphere and our waiter was very helpful. Very interesting wine list, in a good way! Food was excellent.
Everything was wonderful, service, food and ambiance.
Meeting with out of town friends. The food and drinks were exceptional!
Fantastic food and amazing service. One of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta.
The service was great, food and cocktails were outstanding.
The food was amazing and the customer service was outstanding.
Great service, flavorful fresh food, delicious cocktails, can’t wait to go back!
Lovely evening! Great food, great drinks beautiful atmosphere- this was a hidden gem!
Making the reservation through open table was fast and easy. I took a lyft to the location and was seated within 5mins of arrival. My partner arrived early and enjoyed a drink at the bar- the bartender “Kyla” perfectly made his drink, he requested she make another after we were seated.
We enjoyed the Lobster & Red Fish..
Can’t wait to return.
Once again no surprises. Optimist is our go to seafood experience in Atlanta and the total experience was as good as it gets.
We loved it! Service was incredible and the ambiance was great. The food was a bit too salty, but overall a delicious meal. Best dining experience in Atlanta.
We enjoyed our 46th anniversary dinner at the Optimist. Will return soon.
Our server was nice but he seemed to be very busy. There was an emphasis on masks, yet the tables were still very close together. It was very dark. The entrè was small. We had 3 kinds of oysters that all tasted about the same. It was ok but not worth the money.
Super evening all around. Terrick & the rest of the bar staff were AWESOME!! Allison runs a fabulous house!! The food was AMAZING!! A bit more than we usually pay but great experience!!
Ambiance was perfect, and the drinks, fish, and oysters were perfect. GO HERE!
The service was exceptional! We were early for our reservation and got seated right away. Thought the ambiance was slightly dark for my taste. However, the over all atmosphere was spot on. Pricing was a bit much for what you got but the taste of everything was a big “wow”! Perhaps that’s what your paying for. My wife had been wanting to go to The Optimist for quite some time and I’d have to say it didn’t disappoint. Thank you for the memorable experience.
Certainly lives up to its hype! Fabulous service, amazing food. Wonderful outdoor ambiance for those interested in social distancing. Bar excellent, great wine selection.
Fantastic menu, oysters and seafood. Beautiful heirloom tomatoes
A must for seafood lovers. Amazingly fresh ingredients. Great taste and presentation delivered by servers with aplomb
Very nice place
Wonderful oysters - if you are an oyster lover - you will love these. They had at least 10 varieties, and a lot of the good ones from the north east. We had 3 different types and they were all delicious. The restaurant was a little jumbled - one of our party ordered the She Crab Soup, was told the batches were not up to par so he was going to have the Smoked Fish Chowder, but they they brought the She Crab Soup which he said was delicious. Then one of our party had ordered the Red Fish but was initially brought the Branzino. I asked for a Vodka Martini, not dirty (because another in our party ordered a Gin Martini dirty), and it came out dirty anyway. So a little off their game - but all mistakes were corrected. The Tomato side dish was amazing, as were the Scallops, and the Tuna. Not for the faint of heart - 4 diners, 3 cocktails, 18 oysters, 1 soup, 4 entrees, 2 sides and a bottle of wine (50) and it was $500 with tip. Great for a special night out - especially if you are one who appreciates really good seafood. It's hard to find here in ATL.
Overpriced for the food I received. Server was great, place was nice...
Had a great meal! The octopus, the fried oysters, the roasted lobster and last the fig pudding. Excellent all the way around!!
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The potato-leek soup was amazing and the Bibb lettuce salad was refreshing. The table was split on the monkfish – one person thought it was great, but another felt that the tastes didn't quite mesh. Everyone loved the flat iron steak. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable.
We were celebrating a birthday.
The food and service are always phenomenal. Have never had a bad meal here. I wish I could eat here everyday!! The flavors and textures are all so wonderful.
Food and service were exceptional. Our entrees were fantastic and the oysters were some of the best I've ever enjoyed.
Boyfriend visiting from out of town, both looking forward to a big night. Heard a lot of great things about the optimist but it did not meet our expectations. Everything was “fine” except the price point. Disappointing experience, probably won’t go back.
We love to dine in Atlanta, so many great restaurants in this city. The Optimist is not in my top 10.
Food and service was outstanding!
The food was excellent! The service was spot on! The wine list is a bit eclectic and interesting. The only regret was taking the sommelier recommendation on the red wine. Her recommendations on the white wine was both interesting and flavorful, but the red was more like grape juice that wine. Overall highly recommended dinning experience!!
It was amazing, I took my mother for her birthday and the server was so sweet. From he's knowledge of the food to his samples of the dessert wine to pair with the delicious key lime pie. Can't wait to come back!
Awesome food, great atmosphere, superior service .
Great food and service from G our server. Everything was magnificent. Bravo!

Fantastic Dining Experience. There is a charge for valet.
Overall amazing, from drinks to food to service. Definitely recommend!
