The Olive and Grape opened in September 2010. The owner, Paola Corsini, is third-generation Italian Levantine, born and raised in Izmir, Turkey. Paola's distinct culture is represented in the menu at The Olive and Grape. Each and every meal served is infused with the traditions of Turkish and Italian cuisine.

Paola treats all her guests as if we are family. From the warm greeting upon entering the restaurant to the special attention on the person celebrating a birthday, the atmosphere is that of an extended family gathering. The food is absolutely wonderful, unlike any other in the city. Recipes passed down generations in Turkey and Italy are shared in Greenwood WA! Vegetarian and vegan friendly, with lots of meat and seafood to choose from too.
Met for a pre-theatre dinner. Didn't expect the open-to-the-street, wish I had asked for a table a little further from the street. Food was interesting and well-prepared. I had the lamb kebab dinner and the lamb was tender and flavorful. Would go there again for a pre-theatre meal.
We picked Olive and Grape off of a list of excellent restaurants near us. We crossed our fingers that we had done a smart thing. We had! Everything the four of ate was indeed excellent. No complaints. There was parking behind the restaurant. It was wheelchair accessible. All in all a great find.
It's cozy, with the feel of a sidewalk cafe, especially the warm night I visited with the front open to the street. The menu is wonderful. The hummus and eggplant mezza was the perfect starter and the kebab duo was just what I wanted. Altogether a lovely experience and I'll definitely be back.
My wife and I periodically usher at the Taproot Theatre on 85th and, being from outside Seattle, it is more convenient to hang around the neighborhood and enjoy dinner before having to challenge the traffic to return home. We tried several of the other venues prior to discovering the Olive and Grape, but had such a delightful experience that the O&G is now our go-to Greenwood restaurant. Paola's imaginative menu of Turkish/Greek/Italian cuisine never fails to excite our palates and leave lasting memories drawing us back next time to this culinary gem.
I normally have a great meal here and could have given it an excellent review, but this time it just wasn't as good. they did not serve the risotto I enjoy (I'm not sure what the rice side dish was, but it had a red sauce and was bland). The lamb was under cooked and tough. normally it is tender and wonderful. The grilled shrimp and greek side salad were excellent and there was a young man that kept our water filled faithfully. My friend had the mushrooms and said they were wonderful.
there is a bus stop outside and with the front window door open, everytime a bus left, we would get a gush of exhaust fumes to inhale.
I think I'll wait until winter to go again and check the menu first to see if they bring back their risotto (was an excellent side dish).
Super-tasty Mediterranean - went with a group of 6 and got plates to share family-style. Kebabs were so-o-o good, must have those again soon. The seating is really flexible for large groups - you can make reservations and they will be ready for you and your party!
Nice ambiance and parking was very convenient in public lot just east of the restaurant. However, we had to wait a very long time to get our food and it seemed overpriced for what we received on the plate. I would recommend avoiding the time frame right before a show at the Taproot Theatre.

This is one of those places that if you just threw a dart at the menu, you would end up pleased.
We had 8 people for an early Father's Day. Service was excellent.
Good value also.

This place has amazing food. But the management has absolutely NO CLUE as to how to reserve tables and time order-taking so the kitchen can keep up. We have had this experience with them THREE times and will not be going back.
We reserved a table at 6:30pm to eat before an 8:00pm play. The waiter took our order in a reasonable amount of time and brought our salads out quickly. Then we sat and waited for our food for almost 50 minutes. We had ordered a SHARED PLATTER and had to absolutely GOBBLE it down in 10 minutes in order to make our play.
This restaurant is VERY AWARE that most of the patrons are play-goers. They even asked us if we were. But all around us, people were sitting and waiting and nervously looking at their watches. The stress this caused FAR out-weighed the good food.
Until the MANAGEMENT and/or OWNERS can understand HOW to run a restaurant, we shan't return. It was just a sad comedy watching the kitchen move as quickly as humanly possible whilst the MANAGER and WAITERS stood by wringing their hands.
And sadly at the end, there was NO APOLOGY. It was just horrible.
Feeling worried about our Turkish friends in light of the actions of their dictatorial president, we were wishing we could visit them and know that they are okay. Sampling Turkish food at the Olive and Grape was like a substitute visit with a Turkish Greek family. The staff is welcoming, the food authentic, and we wondered why we let so much time go by between visits.
This Mediterranean restaurant (Greek, Turkish, and Italian) Has an extensive menu, that includes the standard dishes (Moussaka, shish kebab, dolmas) as well as some more exotic Mediterranean treats like a grilled octopus tentacle, delicious seafood pasta, and Turkish style lamb meatballs (koftes). Friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere.
