The Olde Pink House Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
You are transported back in time to the 1700's where rebels are holding secret meetings against the crown, plotting a way for 13 colonies to break for freedom. Candles flicker and old stern eyes stare out beneath the slick layers of oil paint.
Your server arrives and you snap to and smile. The dinner that follows only adds to the delight of imaging the people and lives lived out under these walls, in the house that refused to stay white.
As always, Max’s Fried Chicken and Mac & Cheese was to die for. Hubby had the tacos, and thought they were awesome. Service was also as impeccable as always. The only downside to our lunch was the very loud table next to us. They were having a great time, but were so loud we gave up trying to talk to each other. That’s not the restaurant’s fault, though. Overall, another fabulous meal at the Pink House. Can’t wait to come again.
It is a beautiful restaurant with many different spaces to dine. Though my reservation request indicated it was a special occasion and that we would like to be seated near a fireplace we were placed, without any explanation( all they had to say was “sorry we were too full on a Tuesday”) in a very dark corner of a very dark room upstairs. The food was average. The staff was lovely and could not have been more solicitous.
I was disappointed in the meal. The she crab soup had virtually no crab in it and the fried chicken was over brined and over cooked. The wine was good and the place is really interesting but if I go again I'd just go to the bar and have a snack and a drink. The basement bar is really cool.
Second time to Savannah and the Olde Pink House Restaurant was a definite on our to-do list. Menu is outstanding, service prompt and courteous. Our table was not the best (immediately to the right as you enter the front door) but we still enjoyed ourselves.
Treat yourself to the bar downstairs. VERY friendly servers and the drinks were yummy!
Everything was fantastic at the Olde Pink House Restaurant. The food was really good - especially the peanut butter chocolate dessert. The staff was really nice and attentive. It was my birthday so they gave me a plate where they wrote Happy birthday in chocolate. They also gave us the history of the house - and encouraged us to take a tour, which we did. It has fascinating history.
I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
The food was great, I got the Flounder which I very highly recommend and my husband got the lobster which he said wasn't as good since the tempura barter was too heavy but he removed it and enjoyed it thereafter with the sauce served. The service was outstanding and the ambiance was very nice. After dinner our server (Connor) told us we could take a self guided tour of the many levels and we are sure glad we did, the entire place is beautiful!
My boyfriend and I reserved a table and what we got was the royal treatment. We were called the day of our reservation and they asked if we would like to eat in the Vault. Not knowing what that was we just said yes. We were extremely surprised to find out it was a private table in their vault down in the cellar where the wine is kept. It was a extremely impressive presentation of food and excellent service. We will go back again and recommend it to anyone that is looking for a fabulous dinner.
First off, what an amazing restaurant! From booking the reservation to paying the bill, the experience was smooth and well worth it.
From the top, plan your reservation in a timely manner if wanting to dine Friday/Saturday evening. If you can plan approximately 2-weeks in advance then you are golden.
Next, arrive on-time. There is some street parking close to the restaurant. If in need of more parking, there is an adeqate parking garage for $5/hr within 100yrds of the restaurant. So, with that being said, parking shouldn’t be an issue.
While you wait, plan to visit both bars, especially in the tavern. Don’t forget to tell your hostess where you will be :).
Attire, from what I could tell, no worries. My wife and I were causal/business casual. We did see some that had ball caps on but weren’t sure if they were staying in the bar or dining. Be safe and dress business casual.
To the main event, dining. What a perfect and comfortable atmosphere. Service is lightning quick. To enjoy the ambience, enjoy yourself a famous cocktail like The Proper and/or a Woodford Mule. Try not to fill yourself up on the homemade corn bread and biscuits. Yum. If your in the mood for Mac and cheese jalapeño poppers, don’t hesitate to order. And, when your almost tapped out, don’t forget you need to eat your pan seared salmon and pecan crusted chicken breast. Both meals were matched/prepared perfectly for true comfort food.
Sadly, we were too full to enjoy the dessert menu. So, with the server understanding the fullness, she did remember the quaint birthday celebration and provided us with a designer plate of fresh whipped cream, fruits and chocolate.
So, the price....not bad. For 2-people, food and drinks, you can definitely budget $100 and under. Regardless what the price is, you must visit and dine at the olde pink house. If you want to feel like you are no where else but in Savannah, then this is spot to dine.
Normally a top pick. Could have been our timing. Too many holiday parties going on. The entire upstairs and several rooms downstairs were group parties. Dozens of food trays staged next to my table. Spread them around. Filet was mushy, not crisp; resembling a dinner at a conference. Close the restaurant next time and fo Holiday parties only. You are jeopardizing your reputation.
I don’t think I’ve ever been more disappointed. I have waited to eat here for 20 years. I made reservations many months ago, the first day you could on Open Table. I was so excited. I specifically requested to sit downstairs, but the hostess basically said that there were more important parties and that we had to sit upstairs. Not only were we taken upstairs, we were taken to a room that appeared to be the attic instead of the other beautiful rooms in the main house. It felt like where the kitchen help would have eaten in the olden days so as not to be seen by society. After seated, we heard another hostess telling another couple that the room is romantic and that at least they weren’t two men, which would be creepy (within clear earshot of my same-sex husband and myself).
The food was marginal at best. The wait staff was great, but the hostesses were deplorable.
Very disappointing evening. Now I have to go find some decent food because I’m hungry.
Delicious food, wonderful ambiance! My husband truly enjoyed our lunch to celebrate his birthday. From the time we entered the door, we were treated as VIPs by a professional and personable staff. Our meal was presented beautifully; excellent blend of flavors. Thank you for a great dining experience!
It is a treat to dine at The Olde Pink House. My husband and I make a point of stopping here on our drive to FL. The historical mansion has many rooms each different. Everyone that works there is more than welcoming with amazingly attentive and knowledgeable servers. The food is varied and well presented in addition to being delicious! Portions are large. The whole experience of the Pink House is a treat mot to be missed.
Being from Indiana I had to come back for the second time when I was in your beautiful city. The wait staff is above most restaurants that I have been in and the food was over the top delicious. When i come back to Savannah I will be back to The Pink House. Thank you for a great night.
Me and my wife and my wife's sister and brother-in-law had dinner at the Olde Pink House Restaurant last week while we were visiting the historic City of Savannah. You definitely need to make a reservation to secure a table at this historic, fine-dining establishment. The decor was exceptional and the spacing between tables was very good. Our waiter was extremely attentive and knowledgeable. There are many and varied appetizers and entrees from which to choose and most were interesting, different and for the most part very tasty. The only down side to the evening was my wife's entree. She ordered the crispy duck which turned out to be very dry throughout. When the waiter asked us how our meals were my wife explained that she was not happy with the dryness of her duck dish. The waiter immediately offered her the opportunity to select another entree but since everyone else at the table was almost finished with their meals, she decided that was not going to be a suitable option so she declined. A staff member of the restaurant who we think was a manager came over shortly thereafter and told us that they were not going to charge us for my wife's meal since it was not properly cooked. What a refreshing and unexpected surprise. They acknowledged their mistake and immediately took steps to rectify it. Needless to say our entire table was impressed with this level of service and can only say that we will highly recommend this restaurant to others and hope that we can return to Savannah so we can dine at the Olde Pink House again! Kudos to the entire staff!!
We were a party of four. Seated in basement at our request. Lovely and great atmosphere. Order taken no problem. Very timely service for the food. However one dish was Salmon on a bed of garlic mash. Garlic mash was cold. Not heated
So the request was to send it back to be heated. The three others were finished with their entrees before the salmon was brought back. Honestly it only needed to be exchanged for some heated potatoes.thr manager came over and apologized and said it would be right back. The server said she just talked to the chef and it would be right out
I felt very badly for the friend who ate after we were finished. Not the way to spend an evening out
The manager did remove the cost without our request
We would have gladly paid But it really ruined our night out.
The Olde Pink House is a dining institution in Savannah - historic old house with many dining rooms and great ambiance. Had great service from Brionna. My chicken tenders chopped salad was excellent and my friend enjoyed her fish tacos. Food is traditional but well prepared and portions are ample.
