I have been to Savannah several times, yet have never experienced the Olde Pink House. This time I was intent on finally enjoying dinner there. So I diligently made a dinner reservation weeks in advance prior to my visit from Miami. There was a fire the day before my reservation was scheduled for. I received a call the day of the fire to let me know they could not honor the reservation because there was a fire and the building was closed. THE DAY OF THE FIRE! I am glad no one was hurt. I look forward to enjoying the Olde Pink House next time I am in Savannah. I appreciate the call to cancel and wish your entire staff a very healthy and happy 2019
A Christmas tree fire has closed the Old Pink House. The restaurant called the day before our reservation and informed us, and referred us to their sister restaurant, Garibaldi’s. The experience was excellent and I would revisit Garibaldi’s and recommend it to others.
How do you rate a place where you haven't eaten? On our way to a tour before our lunch reservation, at least 4 fire engines screamed passed up. Our luck, it was the Pink House. They were kind enough to call in the midst of their troubles to cancel our lunch. That to me is business that cares about its customers. We will make reservations there the next time we are in town. Therefore, they get 5 stars from us.
Lots of history and yummy food makes for a perfect combination! Management was superb, especially Rachel Smalls!!
It was 8 plates and half of the plates came out cold. The waitress was way too pushy about buying a wine bottle and about making sure the bill was high. There where plates got bread but they never brought out the bread
Always a very great experience. A Savannah Staple
Food and service as well as the restaurant was great no complaints.
However felt rushed by staff. You don’t come to the table with the desert menu whilst the diners are still enjoying their main course. I know you wanna turn the table but really!!!!
This restaurant did not disappoint. The ambiance and the food were as good as expected. My only complaint would be that the service was a bit slower than what I’m used to. We had the BLT salad which was outstanding and everyone had filet mignon which was very good too. The fried chicken was crunchy and tasty but a little greasy. Nonetheless, I would still recommend it. Overall, a very nice dining experience.
Historic location dating back to the original Savannah.
Anniversary and early bday for my husband... there are many reviews and all the great ones are on point! Fabulous atmosphere, service, food, special treats for our special occasions.. highly recommended!
Excellent dining experience in heart of downtown Savannah. Unique house to explore, food was very good and service was exceptional.
We had a great night tasting so many wonderful dishes. The flounder, pork chop, pork shank and fried lobster tails all amazing. Only regret we couldn’t fit in the fried chicken but will next visit for sure! Krista was amazing and made our evening so enjoyable.
Bad experience in all categories. Greatly disappointed!
Great ambiance, wonderful food, warm and friendly service. Our waiter was knowledgeable and knew the menu inside out.
The Old Pink House was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had. My family of 5 enjoyed drinks (great wine and beer selections), the cheese plate, oysters, lobster tails, beef short ribs, Filet, hamburger, shrimp. . Everything we ate was amazing. There was not one thing we thought could be better. Food was interesting, flavorful and beautiful. Our server (Cheyenne) was exceptional- attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The historic setting is beautiful and every room had great seating. We hope to return again in the future.
We love the Pink House and eat there anytime we are in Savannah! Their shrimp and grits are better than any that we have had in Savannah, New Orleans or Charleston. We also love the fried green tomatoes BLT salad. The food here is excellent and a must for anyone visiting Savannah. We ate there the night before the fire and almost cried when we saw the fire trucks the next morning. Glad everyone was safe and we can’t wait to visit once they open again.
We make a point to eat at The Ye Olde Pink House in Savannah each time we are in town. Fabulous service and quality food. The dessert is a must! It’s the perfect intimate setting for a night out with your special someone. We will return!
This is a unique restaurant with rich culture and history. There are variety of food choices at acceptable price. The lady who served our table was nice and skillful. When we pointed out a potential dish quality issue, she responded very professionally and also went to talk to her manager. To our surprise, that manager did not show up immediately. When she showed up, she seemed lack of solutions except for refunding the dish, which sounded like money was the only issue.
Our meal was a disaster from the beginning. My guest ordered a Kettle One and tomato juice. After about 15 minutes, our waiter came back and said they were sold out of Kettle One. He then ordered any vodka. After about 10 minutes more our waiter came back and said the bar was out of tomato juice. He then ordered a screwdriver, which was delivered about 5 minutes later. We then had to wait another 15-20 minutes before we could order our lunch. We all ordered different sandwiches. It took another 45 minutes to get our lunch order. My wife enjoyed her lunch. My guest and I had soggy French fries and the pulled pork sandwiches with pickles came without pickles because they were out of stock. It took us more than 2 hours to eat our sandwiches and leave. All in all, we had a disappointing lunch at an iconic Savannah restaurant. I will not go back.
This restaurant is in my top three restaurants in Savannah. Creative Southern cuisine at its best! Since it is in an old mansion, the dining rooms are small and intimate.
The staff was wonderful at accommodating our large party. We had a private space, delicious food and excellent service. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
The Filet mignon was done perfectly and tasted great. Hower the shrimp and grits were mediocre at best. They simply lacked flavor. Similarly, the She Crab soup was very creamy, but like the grits, lacked flavor. The ambiance and service we're very good, but for the money, I would not recommend this place.
A very classy place, with very good food and wine. A special occasion place. Historic, pleasant ambiance, not too noisy. Friendly service.
I have dined here before and it was excellent, which is why I booked again. It did not say on the website that there was a fixed menu or a fixed price. I should have sent my food back but it was Christmas and I did not want to complain. I did have opportunities to send it back. It was very crowded but the service was still very good. Everyone was working very hard. My soup was cold, my entree was tasteless and had cold mashed potatoes stuck to the bottom of it. I did not like my dessert, but it was my choice.
Appetizer and desserts were delicious. Entree was meh! Service for our cocktails was very slow.
The Olde Pink House not only met but exceeded expectations. The food was fabulous, the service fantastic. We will be back our next visit to Savannah.
Devine eating experience. Can not recommend it enough. It was superb.
The food and ambience were outstanding. It being Christmas night, it was packed. Our waitress was extremely pleasant, even though the service was slow. We were charged twice for an item we sent back, due to it not being warm enough. We found the overcharge, not the waitress. It was rectified in the end and all was well. The moral of the story is: if you send something back, make sure you don’t get charged twice for said item.
We had the price fixe Christmas Day meal and everything was outstanding! The calamari appetizer was perfectly prepared but the fried green tomato BLT appetizer was out of this world! The red velvet cake was the best I’ve ever had! And the ambiance is just lovely
The history is fascinating, and the structure charming. The food was terrible.
We went for Christmas, as this was one of the few spots open for dinner.
The dishes tasted oily, under seasoned and flat, except for the collards which were very salty.
We have had delicious dinners here in Savannah...sadly, this didn’t even come close.
It is the epitome of a tourist trap.
Extensive fixed Prix Christmas menu, food and service were fantastic, would recommend to anyone.
Although we were able to find a variety of choices on the menu, there was very selection for vegan choices. Perhaps consider offering some more vegan menu items for the guests that dine at the restaurant so that he/ she does not feel left out so limited to what is available.
We did Christmas dinner and it was wonderful....sorry to hear today there was a fire there and it is closed....Hopefully they get to reopen soon.a must go to place when visiting Savannah....
My wife and I had eaten at the Olde Pink House 8 years ago on Christmas day. We found ourselves in Savannah, GA this Christmas as well (2018). We had such a wonderful time there last time that I thought that this would be another great dinner. Well, I was disappointed. Now, I must say that my wife thoroughly enjoyed her filet mignon. I had the Cornish Hen and it was way over-cooked. But, the major disappointment was in the service. Our waiter, Cody, was friendly enough but he was way over-stretched. He spent most of his time, and I can understand it, with the table of 8 and the two other tables of 6's that he was also helping. My wife and I were only a table of 2 and we suffered because of it. We were there an hour before we received our entrees. It took 20 minutes for a second glass of wine to be delivered. And, to show the superficial level of responsiveness, when we asked for our desserts to be put into a "to-go" container, the waiter said "Oh, no problem! I am here for you!" Twenty-five minutes later, he delivered the desserts. Our dinner was way too expensive for the service and the average food, in my case. We have decided to go to Charleston next Christmas.
A friend had told me that this was their favorite restaurant in Savannah. It would certainly make a worthwhile experience for someone visiting the area to get an unique experience of local culture and the past. We tried this for Christmas day and have since gone back again for another year. They do a remarkable job of handling large crowds on holidays.
We've been eating at this restaurant for decades; it's always a wonderful experience. The historic mansion is so beautiful and very unique. The service is wonderful as is the menu. The ONE problem we had for Christmas dinner was that there were just two of us; that's a first. The table we were given was too small to be workable. For example, we couldn't have a bread basket because there was no place to put it! This is a must for any Savannah resident or visitor though!
Butternut squash soup was wonderful . Otherwise, salmon dinner was average. Dinners seem pricy for the quality, although Christmas dinner menu had no prices. What’s up with that ? Service was good and the ballroom is lovely.
Christmas dinner at the Olde Pink House! It was our best meal of this visit to Savannah. Special fixed price meal with special selections. I had the black grouper with crab meat stuffing. Wife had the flounder. Both were perfectly prepared and delicious. Service was top notch. We always visit the OPH when in Savannah. Unfortunately They suffered a serious fire this morning and will be closed for awhile. A real shame.
Picked this restaurant because of published wine list and a certain bottle with memories attached. They did not have it. Appetizer arrived before the bottle I did choose. Waiter tried to be helpful but was a little socially awkward. In fairness he may have been a little overwhelmed on Christmas Day. The support staff was very attentive. Food was excellent.
