Went for restaurant week. After being there for almost and hour and a half and only received our apps, we cancelled the rest of our food and left. Server was friendly but forgot our first drink order, had to come back a second time for it, and we canceled round 2 after it hadn’t arrived within 20 minutes. Had crab fries which were tasty. Disappointed we didn’t get to try the rest of our food but we will never go back. Worst part- management never even came by to address us after comping our meal. Poor.
To begin, I love the Olde Bar. We frequent it all the time...I even had my engagement party here. They really have let themselves go. I hadn't been since COVID and last night was the first time and, it happened to be my fiance's 30th birthday. We CHOSE to spend his birthday here. We walk in, and the hostess immediately blurts out, "ooohhh the notes say it's your 30th, wow!" First, every person knows you don't actually say that out loud..they are for purposes of dining instructions. The night continued, food was meh and then, the kicker? Absolutely no MENTION of his birthday. Nothing from the waitress, nothing by way of even a stupid candle on his dessert we ordered. Absolutely classless and tasteless. Horrified we spent his birthday here. Will not be coming back which is unfortunate given the meaning this place has to us.
Very good food and the service was great. Drinks were awesome
Seem understaffed, waitresses seemed stressed. Food is incredible though!
Great food but VERY slow service. It was a Monday night, not crowded. Took 20 minutes for drinks. We finished our apps before our friend got hers. We were there for hours.
Best service, food was amazing. Definitely a favorite of ours.
The food was out of this world. However, my server was less than attentive. After being seated, my server took almost 10 minutes to greet me. After taking my order, I didn’t see him again as someone else brought my food out. All of the items I ordered obviously required silverware... I had to wait an additional 10 mins until he happened to walk by and I caught his attention and asked for silverware.
I enjoyed my food so I decided to order more menu items, again he did not come to check on me, I had to wave him down once again. I ordered more food and again I didn’t receive any silverware. He never stopped by to ask how I was doing or if I enjoyed the meal. I was so frustrated that when I asked for my silverware, I also asked for my check.... which he eagerly brought.
Mind you there were about 2 tables total in the restaurant. However, there was a group of 4 ppl who sat down at the table across from me as I was preparing to go, he promptly took my menu off of my table to give them, he also came back and forth with water for them and asked if they needed anything. It’s funny how I didn’t receive this same service.... interesting. It definitely made me feel out of place and uncomfortable.
The Olde Bar's happy hour is one bnn of the best in the city. We plan on going again for their Restaurant Week menu.
We ate outside on the sidewalk. It was a lovely, sunny afternoon. The tables were spread apart and the diners used masks when being escorted to their seats. We took advantage of the Restaurant Week menu. The snapper soup was better than I remembered. The shrimp rolls were delicious. We brought our desserts home and thoroughly enjoyed them.
The food was great. The service was terrible. Our waitress rushed us towards the end of our meal(asking us if we wanted the dessert to go). Also, when we questioned an item on the bill she got annoyed (even though the fifteen dollar difference did not affect her). However in the long run it did affect her because her attitude cost her a 15 dollar tip. Very disappointed
We were seated outside and they were down a server so the noise level was higher than inside. Our server worked hard but our food and drinks took a bit longer than I expected. We were there for restaurant week and we expected the tables to be full. We loved the food and sitting outside was nice but brick sidewalks make for uneven tables. Overall a great place with great food. We will return
Great historic spot with amazing food. Nice quiet street seating.
Love love love this place the building is amazing the food was spot on and the vibe is laid back
It was my 1st visit to this restaurant, I had a wonderful experience and I will definitely return.
We decided to go to The Olde Bar last minute for restaurant week. It was our first time there and we were very happy with the overall experience. I cannot remember the name of our waiter, but he was very friendly and attentive. The food was simply yet elegant. The amount of food The Olde Bar offers for restaurant week lunch was great. Completely filling and delicious. We definitely plan to return.
The ambiance inside was a little odd, but I'm assuming thats because of COVID. Our waitress was great, but the timing of food coming out wasn't great. Both our entrees and appetizers, we had one person waiting for their meal. Then the turtle soup was overly salt, and we asked for a medium burger and received a very well done, dry burger. But other then that the service, drinks, and rest of the food was good!
Enjoyed the restaurant week menu. Strawberry shortcake was yum. Lobster was nice as I could get it with just warm butter and no mayo.
Great pivot to outdoor service! Food was terrific as well.
Great to have indoor dining again!
Great food good atmosphere!
Our server was great and the seafood was wonderful. My cocktail was great. A little pricey but very good. Would recommend without a doubt.
Food was good! No complaints but falls a bit short when running against other great places to eat in Philadelphia. They certainly do better with their seafood options vs their land proteins. For COVID related, we felt safe and well taken cared of!
It was nice outdoor dining. Was on the curb but food was good and great. Value was good
Food and drinks are amazing. Highly recommend!
As always this place is amazing. However, we ordered a drink very specifically and were told we won't like it. I understand this is a craft cocktail bar, but I also know how I like my cocktails. This is not the first time this has happened and I don't foresee that changing, but will most likely be back.
The menu was reduce by about 70% . I guess "due to COVID". My lady and I wanted seafood and was disappointed to see most of the menu was gone. So we proceeded to leave.
I loved this place! I plan on coming back with my friends
Went for happy hour. Food and drinks was great but portions were tiny even for happy hour standards. Service was good. The sidewalk seating is a bit awkward and pedestrians may walk through because they are confused which briefly interrupts the six foot distancing they are trying to maintain. Otherwise, they are doing the best they can given the circumstances. Will definitely return.
Pre wedding dinner
We had 6:00 pm reservation we were 30 minutes early and they seated us immediately. The menu was
Good food, good cocktails, outside seating for now.
Love the atmosphere especially during covid. Well spaced out and on a nice quiet street. Our server was great, very friendly and accommodating. This is our second time here and will be back!
I went to this establishment during the pandemic and I highly recommend. I ate outdoors and listened to the New Orleans style music from the speakers. The waiter was great and there was a good distance between the guests. The block felt somewhat secluded which I liked. Very nice lively vibe. Would definitely come back.
The people are nice , service was great !
It was the first time for most of us and we had a great experience. The service was great and the tower and crab fingers were definitely worth it!
Really good food, loved the old school atmosphere too.
The food was great and so was the outside dining. The manager Jeff came over to see how everything was. This will be one of our favorites now. Try the crab finger and the oyster from Maine you won’t be disappointed .🌟🌟🌟🌟💝💝💝
Outdoor COVID dinner. Delicious lobster salad on a roll. Friendly service. Full bar. Good separation of tables. Can be difficult to get a table in the shade.
One of the best happy hours in the city (it’s everyday from 4-6 pm)! Outdoor dining is comfortable and socially appropriate during this time. The $5 mini lobster and crab roll is a delicious if you like seafood.
Waitress was amazing, food was blah and not worth the price
