Arrived 15 minutes early and waited for a Valet to come out for several minutes, other than that the experience was fantastic, Great filets.

We went here for our anniversary. We made a reservation but obviously we didn’t need it because we were seated as soon as we got there. The menu looked amazing but the food was horrible. We ordered:
Lobster Bisque- horrible
Crab Cake - ok
Lobster Thermidor - horrible (lobster was over cooked)

The worst part was the waiter trying to convince us that all lobster is chewy. This was indication that the cook did not know how to cook seafood. Please don’t go here if you want quality seafood!

We celebrated our 53rd Wedding Anniversary at The Old Warsaw. We were very pleased with the service, the ambiance and the most courteous staff.

Wow! Where do I begin? This was our first dinner at the new location and it could not have been worse!

On arrival, the valet attendant was MIA. After literally 10 minutes passed, and cars were lining up behind me, a man in a T-shirt and jeans came running up to the valet stand. "This always happens," he expressed.

So we made it to our table and ordered dinner and drinks. I asked for a glass of wine. They have no wines by the glass on the menu, but instead offer a few varietals without giving specific brands. So I settled on one...and waited...and waited. Starters were served, watery brie soup and a decent smoked salmon. Still no wine. We flagged down the bar keep and asked for the wine. Later the waiter came by and apologized and said the next glass was "on him." Well, good.

Then the main courses were served. My wife had lamb chops served with mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes. By her words, the lamb was good, not great, but the sides were bland. My dish? I ordered Alaskan halibut with lobster mac n' cheese and creamed spinach. The dish was served with an immediate waft of "fishiness". I should have sent it back right then, but I somehow needed more punishment. I'll start with the good...the creamed spinach wasn't horrible. Now the bad: The lobster mac n' cheese was nothing more than a few pieces of overcooked lobster dropped on top of bland mac n' cheese. The halibut? It was reeking of ammonia. Somehow, I doubted my initial impression and tried to eat it. After two bites, I was done.

We again had to flag down the inattentive server, but he took the meal back without question. I was offered a different dish but just asked to move on to dessert. The 2nd glass of wine was delivered as promised and the desserts were again, just ok. I ordered a coffee with dessert, but it never arrived. Par for the course, I guess. My wife's soufflé was a bit runny. All in all, a really bad dining experience at every level. Too bad as this has been a great restaurant in years past.

Enjoyed the Old Warsaw and their Easter Day menu. 3 courses - $49.00 pp. Very well prepared, and excellent service. The nice thing about the place was it was not crowded and there was no background music so our party of 4 could enjoy our conversation without having to compete with music. Beautiful surroundings. I was a little concerned by the valet attendant; for Easter Day he was in a dirty T shirt and jeans. But he parked the car and brought it back. It just didn't fit the rest of the experience.

My wife and I had dinner at Old Warsaw recently to celebrate her birthday. We had dined at the old location and thoroughly enjoyed it. She particularly liked the small touches but it doesn't seem that same level of service or ambiance has moved with the restaurant. She was looking forward to receiving a rose or at least an acknowledgement of the occasion however neither was forthcoming. I was looking forward to the violinist (the volume of the piano player hampered conversation). It seems the old violinist had retired an no one has been hired to replace him.

On the other hand the food was good; we both went with steaks and sides. They were prepared to our order and souffles were delicious.

Does it compare to the old location? Sadly, no. Does it shine above Morton's or Capital Grill - both a short walk away? Again, no. Old Warsaw has dropped a couple of notches so we will cross this one off our list for future celebrations.

A very disappointing anniversary dinner. The service was poor. It took 10 minutes to take our initial drink order and bring us menus. We had to send one dish back twice because it was not hot the first time and was literally cold the second. Wine glasses went unfilled for too long. Certainly not what we would have expected from such and iconic Dallas restaurant. We will not be back.

When we were greeted at valet by a man in a dirty shirt we should have gotten back in the car. We even talked about it when we walked in...maybe we should just leave. It was our anniversary and I wanted to go here because I had never been to this longtime Dallas establishment. We were seated in the pathway from the kitchen so waiters were continually walking past. there was a large party that was LOUD! Service was Ok until it was time for our entrée. We waited at least 30 minutes after our appetizer then had to ask where our entrée was. He said 1 minute...he brought it 5 mins later and it seemed like it had been microwaved to heat it up. Potatoes were luke warm and fish was hot.
The soufflé was delicious but that is the ONLY good thing I can say about our experience here. This restaurant is WAY past it's prime and we will never go here again.
At least as we left the guy leading us out had changed his shirt.
DON'T GO HERE!!!!!!

I didn’t have high expectations given I haven’t been to the Old Warsaw in 20+ years but I had hoped for a nostalgic experience. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. Before I discuss the negatives, I will say the food was ok and the service was great. Upon arriving I had to go track down valet at the bar. I’m not sure if valet attendant and the bar keep were the same person. And although he was very nice it was awkward to go get him at the bar and then he wasn’t even dressed like a prof valet. He was kind enough to walk us over to the door to the restaurant which is completely dead. We were seat by a waiter as the hostess was in the back somewhere. The waiter was dressed appropriately but the hostess was not and she wore shoes that made a really loud noise when she walked. I would not have noticed but it was so dead in the restaurant it was all I could hear. As I looked around it made me sad to think such a once great restaurant had been neglected. The linens were so wrinkled on all the tables. The waiter was great and accommodated some of my dietary restrictions. I had the Warsaw said and it was basically lettuce with a few sprinkles of heats of palm and mushroom. I think I saw half of a Kalamta olive too. The salads need some work! Then I had the Dover sole and it was actually very good. I recommend this dish and it was a nice portion size. My guest had the filet and it was cooked perfectly and good quality meat. We also had Brussel sprouts and they were cooked perfectly. It’s unfortunate the ambiance took away from the food. Halfway through dinner there was a piano player and it was too loud. My mom had the chocolate mousse cake and she said it was delicious. Although the food was ok I don’t think I’ll be going back unless the make some changes. The menu and the restaurant need some serious revamping.

The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because we actually thought the food was good for the most part. It was prob 80 degrees in the restaurant and they said someone was “looking at the AC”. We were sweating all the way through our dinner. The servers were horrible. We weren't even sure which of the 5 people who kept coming to our table was actually our server. No one spoke much English. We had not even gotten our drinks yet and were just settling in when a guy walked up without welcoming us or even looking at us and asked if we were ready to order. Hadn't even looked at the menu yet! He seemed upset when we said no. He came back a while later and when i asked a question about the menu he seemed irritated and we could barely understand him. We were asked to order appetizers, soup/salad, entree and dessert all at once. Very strange. Food was pretty good for the most part. My wife’s lobster was drenched in some buttery white sauce and if she had known it was going to come out that way I would have asked to have it on the side. Same for the sauce her steak was drenched in. There was just a general "I don't give a hoot" attitude among the staff, and it was pretty off putting. We waited for forever to get the bill, we weren't sure who to ask and no one ever came back. had to go to the register. Then when they brought the credit card back to us the receipt wasn't there so i asked for it, and it had mysteriously gone missing. The icing on the cake was getting my car back from the valet smelling like someone had a GI emergency in it, it took us a few miles with the windows down to clear the smell.

A little off their game this time. To be fair, we booked a 5:15 dinner to ensure we made a 7:30 show. Service and entrees (Duck, Snapper) were good but little things like wrinkled tablecloths, unattended valet, bland potatoes, dry carrot cake were a little off. It has been a while since we have dined there, so not sure if it just a one-off...

We arrived on time, our table was not ready for about 30 minutes. It appears, that reservations at this restaurant are not very necessary. We sat at the bar for about 30 minutes there was no one who could offer us even a glass of water while we were waiting, it was a pretty strange experience. Food was good, however not every member of the waiting staff was listening to our requests.

Thanks for asking for a review!

We have been out of the country for nearly two years. Some things in Dallas has changed, as is expected. What was NOT expected was the Old Warsaw. The previous Old Warsaw was the one of the last remaining grande dames of restaurant establishments to go. Our experience with the 'new' Old Warsaw shows to be a cold and with an 'antiseptic' feeling. Shelly who seated us seemed pleasant, but gone was the friendliness and warmth we used to receive when we dined at the original Old Warsaw. We were always greeted with a warm and friendly smile from Syed, who we assumed was the Maitre'd. The dining areas are now compartmentalized, and gone are the large dining areas with booths to sit. The fireplace was not lit, which may have added more charm, but sits like a 'black-hole'. For the amount of money we spent it would have been better if we had gone to The Capital Grille across the street. The old adage for the management and owners of Old Warsaw: 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it' could apply. Wish them luck, but we won't be back...to many other established restaurants that remember what customer service, smiles and friendly service is all about. Times change, but in this case it wasn't for the better at Old Warsaw.
P.S. Where is the violinist? That's what we mean when we say 'old world charm'.

What an amazing anniversary dinner! We love the food at Old Warsaw and this Saturday night, the food did not disappoint! I had a wonderful Beef Wellington, Lobster Bisque and a Raspberry Soufflé for dessert! Others at our table had steaks, a Caesar salad, brie soup, key lime pie, chocolate cake. I have to mention that the warm sour dough rolls with garlic butter are awesome - as long as you make sure you don't eat too many as to ruin your appetite!!!! They have fun fixed price menus and you can easily find a yummy combination - or you can always order a la carte!

A perfect place for a special occasion or date night!!!

We have gone there periodically for years (got engaged there, first anniversary, 5th anniversary, 10th anniversary, some Valentines days, etc) but between the last time we were there and this visit, they have really gone downhill. Very poor (slow) service, food was only fair, desert was dried out. The layout has been rearranged such that we were effectively sitting in the bar. As non-drinkers, that was a problem for me and my wife.

It seems likely some good reviews on Open Table and Trip Advisor are paid advertising.

We really wanted to like this old flagship, for nostalgia if nothing else.

From the moment the valet opened the door of our vehicle this place was just off. He was dressed like a farmhand; his attempt at humor was presumptuous and rude.

We asked the receptionist to sit at the bar but she took us to a table.

We ordered a bottle of wine and sent to back unopened because the vintage didn’t match the wine list.

Ordered a different bottle and it too was younger than the wine list claimed.

The food was ok except for my steak. It was NOT “Prime” not aged and had not been cooked on a hot grill. The outside had no char, and no chefs butter. When we put table butter on it, the steak was barely warm enough to melt it.

Our after dinner coffee had been in the pot since the last ice age.

Most of the service staff seemed poorly trained but they mostly tried and were polite.

The decor is not classic - it’s dated and has no coherent theme.

We are not nostalgic any more and won’t be back.

My wife ordered lamb chops that were over cooked, I ordered 22oz that was the toughest steak I ever received at a restaurant. Being it took a long time to get our meal we decided not to return our food. We did order a nice bottle of wine and tried to make a good night of it. Not worth the 292.00 bill. We were very disappointed.

It has been many years since I've dined at Old Warsaw but remembered it being decadent albeit expensive. Thought it would be a good Valentine's surprise for my special lady and made reservations a couple weeks in advance to make sure of a good table. We were seated next to kitchen and restrooms. Date ordered steak and lobster. It all came covered in a dark "sauce"---never had gravy on my lobster! The lobster in the lobster bisque seemed to be trimmings since it was "sinewy and tough". My rack of lamb was done way past medium rare requested and very cool. So much for memories.

Salad and Steak was good. Dessert (Cherries Jubilee was basically a scoop of ice cream with some cherries on it). Service was SLOW. Parking was not good.

Atmosphere was nice, but this is definitely a people watching hot spot...think high end Senior Living restaurant.

Not cheap (runs about $75 a person not incuding drinks), but Dallas is expensive and the steak was tasty.

May go again when my Mom is in town, she's in her 80's and would like this place.

To say the least, it was an overall disappointment. The food was average at best for the price point. The lobster bisque was the worst we’ve had in the city, it was more like a lobster gumbo. Awful, sent that one back. The two filets ordered by the girls were tough, not good for the best cuts. The beef Wellington was, however, very good as was the Dover sole once you got past all the sauce and toppings. The scallop appetizer was way over cooked. The cherries jubilee was average. The service started out fine and became neglectful as the night progressed. For the price, there are much better establishments in Dallas. We won’t be going back.

Our experience was a little "less-than-perfect" in that we arrived and there was no one to greet or seat us. We sat at the bar where there was no bartender and waited. Shortly a woman passed by and said I'm the bartender and will be back shortly. Before she returned another woman (not a hostess or wait-person) came by and said she would seat us. We said we'd like to have one drink at the bar and she pretty much insisted on seating us (there was somewhat of a language barrier). The service was spotty throughout the evening but the food was amazing, the piano player was a joy and fun and the wine list was very good. We enjoyed the evening but all in all the service could have been better.

After having first read other reviews on Old Warsaw, I found our experience to be very much what we expected. Wonderful formal large dining room. Very short, but quality staff on a Monday night. Only two other tables had diners while we were there. Soup arrived lukewarm but the lobster salad with Antoine sauce was “to die for “! My table mates did not share a bite! We were there for the beef Wellington and it was a large portion, cooked medium well though we had ordered medium rare. Very tasty! The clear winner for dessert was chocolate mousse cake. Bread pudding needed more-maybe a rum sauce? We enjoyed the meal and would return for their menu choices, but not often at their prices... I would not choose Old Warsaw on a weekend or busy holiday.

Looking for a place with romantic ambiance and great food. Went on a Thursday night and were surprised that we were one of very few tables occupied. Obviously expected, though because it appeared that one waitperson (along with an assistant waitperson) was handling the entire restaurant. Food was excellent, but there were couple of "hiccups" in service. Nothing bad, but a little slow - plus our a la carte salad didn't show up until we asked about it - as the entrees arrived at the table. The two waitstaff had that "deer-in-the-headlights" look and then provided the salad (worked out just fine - just a surprise at this level of dining).
Had to hunt for the valet once we were ready to leave.

All-in-all, it was a "Good" experience - that could have easily been "Very good" (don't forget that the food was excellent!)
