Took my wife on a date night to Dallas and I wish I would have picked just about any other place to eat. All of the tables were pushed so close to each other you can't even walk through them. The waiter didn't ask us if we wanted drinks or offer anything until we flagged him down 20 minutes after we got there. Service was extra slow and they weren't that busy. The food was OK at best. My wife ordered her steak medium and it came back rare. I ordered my steak medium rare and it was medium well. Probably had to do with the waiter barely able to speak English and he couldnt communicate very much. It took 2 hours from the time we were sat to the time we got our check and over half of the tables were empty. To say the least it was a disappointment.
Not what they used to be. It was slow “OK” service at best. The wine list was almost no list at all. The banana foster dessert, which used to be their classic and done superbly, is no longer done at table side. The layout of the dining room virtually prevents this. To top it off the desert was not that tasty. Even though I did not order wine my Cocktail was outstanding. My wife said her wine was just OK, she did not even finish the one glass. The pianist is also outstanding. If they can speed up the service I think they can be back on top really quickly. Outstanding valet service as well.
Was referred by past client who gave great reviews so we wanted to experience this. Food was very good but service was disappointing.
Everything was amazing, from the salad to steaks down to the Bananas Foster. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back again.
Don't bother....There are far more superior steakhouses in Dallas with superior service, ambiance and food. Our meal was terrible...we were disappointed with the lack of service...Sea Bass tasted like it was a week old, Keylime pie literally had no flavor...and the waiter could not figure out how to fix our wobbly table...felt like we were just an inconvenience to them. We will not go back.
The apps were cold and the steaks were very under seasoned. Took forever just to get a single drink and the waiter would get one drink order then walk off.
def wouldn't recommend
The service was bad the manager act like we didn’t belong there,I will never ever go back to this restaurant.
We enjoyed our New Year's Eve dinner with another couple and had a great time. The restaurant was full, but the set up made it where you could actually have a conversation with your friends. The NYE menu had a great selection and everything tasted great. It was not overpriced for NYE. I totally recommend the restaurant. It was a wonderful way to start out the evening celebration.
Always outstanding. This is my go to restaurant for special occasions.
Table side tartare was excellent. Steak Diane and lobster was delicious. Great wine selection. Piano music. Attentive staff. All around fabulous meal.
The food was excellent! However the non-stop music from Dance Club in front of the restaurant destroyed the old world charm. The shared bathrooms with the Dance Club forced diners to wait in line with the party crowd. While the food was outstanding, the single server and loud music will prevent us from returning.
The food was fabulous! However, night clubs have moved in next door and the noise penetrated the restaurant. Drunk night club patrons were unpleasant in a shared restroom. As we were leaving a fight broke out at the night club in the parking lot while we waited for our car. This is not the restaurant’s fault but be mindful when going. Our experience was on a Sunday night. Hopefully weeknights are better. Will go back to enjoy a good meal and a Dallas treasure.
The Old Warsaw was awful. Very rude waiters, mediocre food, loud party on the going on. The bartender kissing one of the dinner guest, snails pace service. The waiter taking our orders was extremely short and rude. Horrible, classless, and Super Rude!
The maître d’ was dressed like vagabond. There is no bartender. The general ambience was not present. The drinks were good. The waiter was fair.
Abhorrent service. Forgot drinks repeatedly. Asked men for order BEFORE the ladies (drinks, appetizers AND entrees). Food received was not what was ordered and the steak that I got was extremely over-done and had to be re-made. When I pointed out the over-doneness of my ribeye the server interrupted me in a loud voice saying he wasn't the one that cooked the steak. I acknowledged that and he repeated that two more time. The Crème Brule was also extremely disappointing with the custard much too warm and runny. With as much competition as there is in this space....needless to say we will not return. Extremely disappointed overall and would certainly never recommend it.
Let us start with the reservation. Reservation made one month in advance. I received a call the week before my reservation informing me there was an error with OpenTable and the restaurant just received the reservation notification. The week of the reservation the manager contacted me five times to confirm. The day of the reservation I was contact twice, reminding the manager, we spoke earlier that day and serval times that week to confirm. We received a warm welcome upon arrival. When my guests began arriving there was a noticeable difference in the way “some” were greeted. Service to ”some” of my guests was noticeably different than what other guests received. Towards the end of our dinner, with empty drinks, I went to the bar and spoke with the manager to inform him several of my guests were not being served timely and I asked for his immediate attention to this matter. The food and atmosphere were above average. The manager and server require training on cultural diversities. I have never experienced this type of behavior; I have only read about it and watched in the movies. My husband and I apologized to our guests. The restaurant did not provide an itemized receipt for expense purposes - $1,800 meal. Mind you this would have been higher if we received adequate service. I do not recommend Warsaw and would not return to the restaurant.
I would say that it is one of the strangest dinning experiences I’ve had in a while! There was no hostess stand and you enter at the bar, which would be fine except you literally just stand there with no direction where to go. The manager (I assume) said hi, I told him we had a reservation and he just stood their awkwardly. He finally went around the bar and pulled out an iPad asked for my name and sat us at a table. There were only 3 other parties on the restaurant but all large tables, so the manager waited on us. He asked if we drank wine and had a bottle in hand. We asked for the wine list, he came back with the same bottle and tried to push it again, we asked for the wine list again. Ordered off the prix fix menu, and the food was mediocre at best. French onion soup was warm, not hot and had no cheese on it. None in prime rib was fine, but need salt. They were out of baked potatoes and served runny mashed potatoes instead (what the hell did they make rose out of if they had no potatoes)! Veggies were frozen from a bag I am certain!
The most disappointing part of dinner was dessert! We ordered the banana’s foster. Because they had so many tables crammed in even though they were mostly empty, they could not push the trolly to the table for the table side preparation. So the 10 top beside us got to watch this firey presentation of our dessert being made and we couldn’t see jack!
It then took over 20 minutes to get the bill because every waiter and the manager were all serving the 3 parties, again still barely occupying half of the restaurant.
DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!
Al and his crew were amazing! Everyone enjoyed the time and the food! He was extremely accommodating for our 35 person group. If we had a complaint it would be that he will only split the bill up to 6 ways. We knew this going in, we’re prepared and everyone left happy as they exceeded the expectations! Thank you Al! We will be back!
The food was wonderful. The restaurant itself is sophisticated and was decorated beautifully for Christmas.
My only issue was that it is connected to a loud club next door & the restaurant shared a restroom inside the club. You could hear the club music over the piano player at the restaurant. Quite odd.
food was uninspired
escargot was cold.
steaks with crab was disgusting.
Initially, I had high hopes for this place. My party arrived on time and waited over an hour before we were given a drink menu. The gentleman was more concerned with the football game than assisting our table, we were the only party who had not been serviced. Then once he came to take our order he told us to hurry up because the kitchen closed at 4 PM. It was 4:38. There was no explanation or apology for the delay, and no one said a word when we left due to the lack of service.
Thanksgiving Brunch. Had I known it was going to be an extremely limited 3-course prix fixe I would not have made a reservation. The food was uninspired. I think there had to be staffing issues as there was only one gentleman (I assume an owner or manager) serving 8-10 tables (25-35 patrons) on his own which affected everything. Food came out looking like it had been under a heating lamp for a while. Wine selection was “red or white.” Overall a disappointing meal.
Tucked in between night clubs, very interesting hidden location. Tables on top of each other, no elbow space much less noise protection. Table next to us gave speeches all night so loud we couldn't talk to each other. Server (mightve been owner, seemed like it) ignored us for at least 10 mins before offering us menus. Apps were awesome, but our main course was wrong. Don't expect the steak to actually be stuffed with crab, its on the side and when you ask about it he looks at you like you're crazy and rude for implying it's wrong. Also if you ask for the least fatty type of steak they have, he'll bring you his favorite which literally was more than half raw fat. And don't ask for well done like my husband, they'll tell you it should be medium and then bring it out raw. We asked for the check after the steak came back wrong a third time and the group next to us successfully gave me a headache.. could be a really romantic place and what we did eat was great but they really need to make some changes.
We arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation and it was closed - nobody called from the restaurant- unbelievably unprofessional
The atmosphere is wonderful and beautifully decorated. Takes you to a different world from long ago. The service was quite slow. Our reservation time was 9pm. So this could be the reason for the slow service. They seemed short staffed. The food once it arrived was wonderful! The menu had many great options. I ordered from the 70/pp fixed menu where you can choose one item from three courses. I had the escargot as an appetizer and it was excellent. Main course was the beef Wellington which was perfectly cooked. Crème brûlée for dessert was ok. Overall it was a good experience.
Check has no itemized description, only totals, tried to charge an additional $ 60.00 bottle of wine, owner acted as if he did not know, nobody seemed to know, owners attitude was terrible after having such a good dinner, ambience is great, all steaks were really great, service by Ricardo was Great, but it is impossible to have great service when there’s only 2 waitress for the whole restaurant. All customers seemed to be enjoying their evening. Piano Music makes a great atmosphere.
We sat in our seat for 10 minutes, and I finally had to ask a staff member for a waiter. I'm sure this was just a rare miscue, but it happened. Our steak was just outrageously tender! Desert was tremendous. Chocolate cake! My crab cake appetizer was cold in the middle. I guess more warm-up time needed.
Wine choice was really good too.
So a little bit of a mixed review, but we were not unhappy with our visit. Just a couple of hiccups.
And, REALLY enjoyed the piano player!
Time changes things…it’s not like it was 30 years ago. Food was still very good, my steak was cooked perfectly. But the extra touches and special flourishes aren’t there any more. Time and COVID take a toll on things. No valet, no hostess, smaller menu, all the things that used to make this a 4-5 star restaurant are gone. We had a lovely meal and a nice time and the price fixe menu is definitely a good value.
The steak tartar can’t be best.
Loved this place. Steak was cooked exactly how I ordered it. Great atmosphere
Had a great experience at The Old Warsaw! The sea bass is my favorite. I am looking forward to going back again soon!
Great meal and personalized service. Awesome!!
Food was over cooked and dry. Outside bar attendees crowded entrance making it impossible to enter and exit without security assistance. Outside music overpowered inside music. Staff could not manage inside music, jumped around from station to station with too many commercials inappropriate for dining...constipation, etc. Won't go back. Use to be an great experience. Too bad.
I’ve always wanted to eat at Old Warsaw. The food was amazing! I will definitely be going there again really soon and bringing my friends!
Service was excellent and attentive. Bar service was also good. They were out of several wines, but gave us a deep discount on a more expensive bottle as a substitute. Cannot say anything good about the food
Our dinner, sea bass and steak was excellent. We also ordered dessert, crème brûlée and blue berry cobbler and it was runny! The staff seamed
There were 6 of us at a lovely round table. We were looking for to a quiet evening for easy conversation. The piano (excellent musician by the way) was so loud and in a small room, we could not hear each other easily. Moving tables would have made no difference.
This is not the Old Warsaw we remember. It is now more casual. The food is good, though not great. And the noise level was annoying. We will not be returning.
The manager was rude and it took a while to receive our food and drinks and a couple orders were wrong!
We had reservations for 9 at 7:45 for my husband’s birthday last night. No one came to our table even after sitting at our table for an hour and a half. We were discriminated on based on the color of our skin. We were the only black family there. I’ve never been treated so poorly. When I was trying to see where the server was, or to get a manager, the bartender kept telling me to sit down and waved his hands like I was trash or something. We eventually got up and left because we will never spend our money where we’re not wanted. Shout out to the party of 15 full of white men who walked out with us. They said it was not fair and they won’t return either. They asked us to join them for dinner. We all went to Moxies across the street and had a wonderful time. The staff at moxies said this happens a lot. I’m going to post on all social media platforms not to come. It was not fair to us.
What an enjoyable event. The steak tartar was phenomenal as was the seabass. The ambiance alone is enough reason to visit this place, but add in a terrific wine list and service along with the menu; and it's a must visit for me every time I travel to Dallas.
