We ate with friends on our first night in Ogunquit. We were seated in the rear room, which is quite nice and bright, the main dining areas being quite dark. Our waiter was quite pleasant and accommodated our requests.
We are the lobster and vegetables over angle hair pasta and the stuffed scallops, after first sharing a Caesar salad (anchovies $2 extra, and kitchen split the salad for us without us asking -a nice touch). The food was good, though was somewhat disappointed in the lobster special. Drinks were quite reasonably priced.
Dinner for two with tax a one glass of wine for one person came to $95.
Great location, friendly staff and service. Would definitely recommend this place.
We recently returned for our 28th anniversary and we were not disappointed. Great food great service great time just as we remembered.
The food was fabulous. Would definitely go back. Yummy
Very enjoyable evening. Cocktails were particularly good and the menu and quality of food was above average. Our waitress was extremely pleasant although some errors were made in timing of the service. It did not take away from the experience though. One tip I would offer is to request to sit on the front porch as opposed in the darker, more closed-in interior of the inn.
Exceptionally nice waitstaff. Food was amazing, can’t wait to get back again.
Pleasant setting. Old Village Inn it certainly is. Seafood stuffed scallops were very good served in a casserole type dish; the scallops were tender with small shrimp & buttered breadcrumbs. Tournedo was good but accompanying sauce was thin & flavorless. Creme brule sugar crust was thicker than usual which made it sweeter.
We had different lobster dishes and both were excellent! The lobster was tender and the tastiest we’ve ever had. The service was also excellent. A very friendly staff.
Had a great time at The Old Village Inn. Traditional New England seafood which we all enjoyed. The best thing was the homemade blueberry pie made in house….WOW. Natasha is an excellent server, paced everything along perfectly. Never felt rushed, gave us time to catch up with old fiends. It’s gonna be on our OGT list when we return.
First time at this resteraunt was very good. Prime Rib was cooked the way I requested. 👍 my wife's Salmon was also prepared correctly and not over done.
Our server Natasha was very attentive and had a great personality. Will make sure to go again we return next year
Great place! Jim was awesome... delish food ( we had filet and scallops) live music... in the"background" not too loud for dinner (but very talented), yummy cocktails
The food was very good, not great. We enjoyed the scallops appetizer and the prime rib. The drinks were excellent and our server Natasha was wonderful.
We had the lobster special on Friday July 16, 2021 on occasion of my 78th birthday. Our meal was exquisite. Absolutely wonderful. Blueberry pie for my birthday with a candle topped it all. Thankyou to the chef🎂
Always love the Old Village Inn! The staff are so welcoming and the food is delicious!
Really great food & quaint atmosphere, we felt like we were at “ Grandma’s “ The skillet chocolate chip cookie was delicious & the Maine blueberry pie just like Grandmas!!
Service somewhat slow. Weren't informed of specials, heard from another server at nearby table
Fantastic restaurant--perfect service, food excellent ambiance beautiful. Will return guaranteed
Perfect, classic beach town seafood restaurant with a delicious menu of favorites and special dishes. There’s something for everyone. Friendly, cozy, welcoming.
This has always been one of our favorite restaurants. The food is always so outstanding. I always have the divine lobster special and this time my husband had the seafood stuffed scallops. He said that they were the best that he has ever had. If you are a foodie do your self a favor and go to this restaurant. Make a reservation, so that you won't be disappointed.
Had a wonderful drinks and meal on their front porch area which was fun to people watch The escargot and bacon wrapped scallops were great along with the lobster special and rack of lamb. We will return.
Excellent food, cocktails, and service! We will definitely be returning!
Birthday dinner and the lobster special was amazing!!

Food was very good and varied menu. Nice atmosphere for having good meal. Service was great. Highly recommend.

Reliable and stylish as ever. Old New England at its best.
Amazing, delicious food and lovely service.
Excellent! Really enjoyed the ambiance and food
Awesome food and atmosphere.
Eaten here several times always good and consistent and service is very good
Qualify food and service, always been happy with my meal at the old village inn.
We had a wonderful experience tonight to celebrate our anniversary. As we come out of the pandemic it is fun to be able to dine out and the Old Village Inn was terrific tonight.
Old school eatery, well prepared and tasty. Good value wine and beverage. Homey atmosphere. Attentive service.
Great atmosphere. Terrific food at reasonable prices.
Always excellent. Jim has been there forever and always provides great service and when he is off Natasha is just as great a server. This time of year it is always crowded and thus a little noisier, but not so much to be a bother. Happy to go back again and again.
On our previous visit to Ogunquit we'd eaten at this restaurant, and were seated in the back dining area, near a fireplace. The atmosphere itself is cozy, old fashioned, and I like that sometimes. We only made reservations here again because, well, it's only across the street, we didn't feel like driving anywhere, and we figured we'd give it another shot, because the previous time the food was only okay. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't like "Hey, we've GOT to come here again". This time however pretty much seals the deal that we won't be going back.
My entrée Grilled Breast of Duck with a port wine cherry sauce was "meh". It wasn't bad but it was fairly dull. The fat wasn't very crispy at all, and it just seemed to have some rather wilted, nearly colorless half cherries lying beside it. I'd ordered the "grains" but instead got green beans, which actually were cooked well, and so I'm not complaining about that.
The bad part is my wife's meal -- the Prime Rib. Not only did she claim that it was the chewiest PR she'd ever had, I could see that this was indeed so. The amount of stringiness was simply unacceptable. I don't know exactly how it all works -- why there are good cuts and not-so-great cuts of meat. But there are. I can go to my local butchery and the meat there far outshines what I can purchase in a grocery store, and especially better than what's offered at BJ's wholesale. I can only conclude that this restaurant is buying cheap cuts of meat. My wife basically chewed what she could and spit out the rest of the stuff that was holding it together. After a while she was just exasperated from dealing with it. She "ate" only about a quarter of the portion, if that. I didn't even bother asking her how the rest of it was. Poor thing.
It's really too bad things are this way as it's such a super-convenient location.
Oh well, lesson learned, and we'll make reservations at the Five-0 Shore Road restaurant at least a couple weeks in advance. Now THAT'S fine dinning!
The setting is nice. The waiter was inattentive. The food was mediocre.
The Old Village is consistently one of the top restaurants in Ogunquit. The menu is varied, the prices are fair, and the service is always good. This is a place where we feel very confident taking guests, who are always impressed.
