Loved the music, ambience and service. The currie chicken was also great.
Friendly service. Excellent coffee, rare in restaurants, and much appreciated!
Had an awesome evening, it was our first live music since the pandemic. Great night out!!
Love the triangle , such a great atmosphere. Was there with my new date, he lived it, he immigrated here from New York .
We sat inside and only one other couple there besides the four of us at our table .The staff were wearing masks and followed protocols for Covid. We hadn't seen these friends in years so this the perfect location to reconnect. My husband had the Irish stew which he described as best ever and I had fish and chips.Food and service was great and location perfect.Drinks were a bit more expensive than we usually pay but all good!
we ate outside. Felt very safe Pandemic wise. Food was excellent
Great food and excellent, friendly service. I hadn't been there for over three years and I had forgotton how good it was. The only very small wrinkle was that the prices were slightly above typical pub or bar prices. Not by much, but a dish you might get for $13.50 elsewhere was in the area of $17 at the Triangle. Still, it won't keep me from returning.
Staff are great as always! Very accommodating. Food's great as usual!
Only real concern is that some of the outdoor seating is too close together. I get that it's outside, but the raised-platform seating is just a little too close for comfort! (Well, at least right now given the whole pandemic thing going on.)
Awesome Irish bar for a date day out
Because of covid we wanted to dine outside and we were seated in the street patio area. Had a great meal and evening with entertainment right outside with us. Great service. Felt very safe with social distancing measures in place.
I would HIGHLY recommend the seafood crepe! It is full of scallops and shrimp and haddock and topped with lobster. Simply delicious and very generous in the amount of seafood.
Sitting next to the sidewalk was ok and it allowed us to hear the musician around the corner. Being approached by a panhandler takes away from the experience.
I am ok with helping out the needy when I see them on the street, but during a quiet dinner with friends, is not ok.
The food was meh. My wife wanted halibut but there was none available. It took about 25 minutes to get food after ordering and the server kind of gave off a vibe of not wanting to be there. No smile but then again she was wearing a mask. Just felt like she was rushed or was rushing to be at another table. I get being in a hurry to serve but you don't ask your customer have you decided yet to order while walking away from your table. Aside from the Irish paraphanalia on the walls and the name, there isn't much of an Irish pub ambiance or feel. I give this place an overall rating of "Meh"
Food was delicious and the live music was just lovely! Loved the vibe of the place.
Delicious food and beer, cozy setting and some live music - can’t go wrong!
As always food was superb! Great service as well!!
Our server didn’t come check on us often, it was very warm inside so our drinks melted very quickly got became weak if we didn’t drink them quick. Would say the items are a tad over priced but the spot was beautiful and the music was fantastic.
We always enjoy sitting in the second level, and seeing the familiar (and great) servers and bartenders. It was a great experience. The food was tasty, hot, and plentiful.
First time out during the pandemic and felt very safe and respected by all staff. Service was great.
Everything was set up perfectly to feel safe during reopening ! Food was excellent and drinks were perfect
Our favorite place to eat in Halifax! Great food, kind attentive staff, and beautiful atmosphere.
Table was not ready. Food took too long to arrive and some people had cold food.
Great place, great beer, great food, great service.
I have always enjoyed the singers when there. Saturday night was the first time I didn’t like the food. The fries were good. The deep fried breaded haddock was over cooked. The fish and batter too hard.
Great time. Great service. Mike Lloyd was amazing. We had a great time.
We were a party of 5, with one of our party having special needs and having a wheelchair. We were immediately helped to the section being on one level with a bathroom. Our server made sure our daughter was accommodated with a spill proof cup and straw. The food was very good and the atmosphere was pleasant and upbeat. Even after paying our server, she offered to take our picture!
Our son chose this venue for his birthday, and we soon realized his attraction. We will return...great job!
Things were on schedule we thought but when we arrived by cab we were told computors were down and they didn't know when they would be back up. That part is understandable as things happen. Problem was our cab had left, they had called earlier in the day to confirm my reservation but couldn't be bothered to let me know before arriving that we could not be served.
Seems very unacceptable to me that they couldn't serve us using cash and pen and paper. Instead they recommended we go somewhere else and we did!
Very disappointed! Especially since it was my idea to go there.
Hello, We are sorry that our system had crashed the night you were hoping to join us, it is never our plan to turn anyone away on a Saturday night. Unfortunately restaurants are built around computers these days and at the time we were unsure of if we would be able to remain open that evening. Due to the complete crash in the middle of service, we were unable to inform reservations of the problem. We hope you will give us another chance in the future, as this issue is far from common. Brendan
I love the Old Triangle in Halifax and go there regularly. The staff are friendly, the food is awesome and I love spending time in the pub.
From start to finish, everyone who greeted us were really friendly. Our server was very attentive and checked on us just enough to make us feel like we were his priority. Food was excellent, and experience wonderful. We will be back
Great place. Friendly service. One of our favorite places in Halifax.
I love the relaxed atmosphere and authentic Irish feel of the place. The food was good and the service and music was outstanding!
Great time good food, great wings. Server was great.
Fun place, great food, and service. Loved the tee shirts we bought!
Wonderful evening! Excellent food and service. Highly recommended !
A friend recommended this restaurant to us saying whenever he is in Halifax he goes there for the ambiance, good food and entertainment. Our waiter was very good- attentive, helpful and not rushing us when we were done. Very pleasant evening.
Best pub in Halifax
We enjoyed the food and pleasant experience Thanks for the lovely time
We visited a number of restaurants in the city during our stay. This was the only disappointing stop. We were really looking forward to the Irish atmosphere, cuisine and entertainment. Staff was friendly and the atmosphere was fine. The disappointment was the quality of food. The seafood chowder, while tasting ok, was basically cream of potato soup. Very difficult to find any actual seafood. I order fish and chips. The fish while small portions, was tasty. The cole slaw was only shredded cabbage with as near as I could tell lacking any dressing. The potatoes was a bowl of mush resembling a bad poutine. The three guitar players who were the entertainment did a decent job of the music they were playing. It unfortunately lacked the Irish flavour we were looking forward to. I must admit the restaurant was full of guests who were by appearance having a good time. It just didn’t live up to what we were expecting.
Small selection, but the Nicoise Salad was very good. A good place for a younger crowd!
Great food, excellent service. We sat outside on a beautiful Summer night but the inside had a great vibe as well.
