The Old Spaghetti Factory - Toronto Ratings and Reviews
We arrived at 5:40 pm and seated immediately. Our server took our drink order and asked if we have any time restrictions. We said we had tickets for a 7 pm event around the corner. We ordered our food. We waited a while for bread as none was ready. Our food took about 25 minutes to arrive. It was brought to our table by someone other than our server. Our server didn't come by to see if we needed drink refills. When we were finished eating our server came by and I said I would need a takeout container. He wasn't to be seen again for more than 10 minutes. We checked the time and realized it was 6:47 pm and we needed to leave. We had to rush out with no coffee/dessert which is included in the price.
I love this place! I make it out to the Spaghetti Factory at least once a year and always get asked to attend their guest appreciation night - which was why I went on this particular occasion. The set menu was really good though there weren't a lot of vegetarian options. I was really sure that last year they substituted an Alfredo dish for me but they wouldn't do it this year. The food was plentiful and very tasty. Our server, Doreen was a lot of fun and we were all greeted by the Hostess, Eunice who was also really nice. My usual table was reserved and waiting and the staff all appeared to be having a great time. We sat there for about 3 hours and never felt rushed to leave. The drinks kept on getting re-filled and we were very stuffed!
Took my friend and granddaughter to The Old Spaghetti Factory. It was "the same" and nice and clean - we were thrilled! Our waiter was wonderful and it really felt very comfortable. Had a lovely bottle of wine - recommended by the waiter. Then placed our food order. Which was a very simple order. Spaghetti and meatballs, mediterriane chicken, pasta with butter for the little one. Certainly something more then canned sauce with no flavour, overcooked pasta, frozen meatballs, canned mushrooms and cheap spongy chicken breast frozen for who knows how long Garlic bread should taste like garlic. You are riding on your long standing name - it wont last like that. I am very sorry not to be returning to your establishment.
Everything was great, however we very disappointed to see the conditional pass from the health department on our way OUT the door. Before we come back I will be checking to see if you have passed your health inspection as of right now I'm not in a hurry to return.
This is a nostalgic resturant with great atmosphere targeted to the young or young at heart. The service is quick and the staff are engaging, however, the food is substandard and actually rates lower in my opinion to the alternatives like East Side Mario's or the Olive Garden in its day. If they got into real and authentic Italian combined with the history and ambiance of the facility they would have a line up out the door on a nightly basis. Get that right and I'll be back otherwise this maybe my last trip to the OSF!
A wonderful experience. I came for my children's birthday dinner. The atmosphere was very warm and inviting. We stayed a while after the bill was paid and we weren't rushed out. That was appreciated. Perfect for families and romantic dinners.
The only thing I would have liked to be different was that there was 1 piece of cake for my 2 children and they sang to both of my children at the same time. I would have preferred 2 pieces of cake. But I loved the singing.
The restaurant was busy but we had reservations and were seated right away. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was energetic. The food was fair. Portions generous. I did notice the plate that my food came on did not look thoroughly cleaned. It had oily smears on the edges that were clearly not from my meal. Besides this, I would come back. My kids loved it.
I've been coming here since I was a kid, and it really hasn't changed, which is a good thing. You get lots of food for a reasonable price, and the waiters and waitresses are friendly and efficient. They start you with unlimited bread and their own whipped garlic butter which is always warm and fresh. The soup or salad, ice cream and tea or coffee is always included in the price of the meal. It's a really popular restaurant for tourists, people visiting the theatre, the ACC or Rogers Centre for a game or concert. I'm never disappointed after a meal here. Highly recommended!
My siblings and I took our mum here for mother's day this year. It was enjoyable except for the constant interruptions from multiple other tables' children running around and climbing over the booths.
Good family restaurant, just not recommended if you want a night out with your sweetheart.
We haven't been to OSF in quite a few years and decided to drop by again for a quick lunch.
We always liked how interesting it looks inside, not your typical restaurant decor.
Standard entree size was small (we didnt opt to upgrade), taste was fair (We make a better lasagna/pasta but taste is subjective).
What we found lacking is service. The waiter had too many tables and was never around. Forgot to bring us cheese when he asked if we wanted it after bringing our entrees. A quick lunch turned into a 2 hour session.
We paid the bill and he just took the machine back and kept talking to the other table ignoring us.
Seated in an old streetcar, I enjoyed the bizarre atmosphere.
Manicotti was tasty whereas fire grilled Italian sausage was more ordinary. But spaghetti were al d'ente!
Our waitress was delightful, very friendly and efficient.
Not a gastronomic restaurant but a warm place to share good and simple food.
No the food at the Old Spaghetti Factory isn't good. It's extremely basic. But it's not awful or inedible, despite what foodie snobs seem to say. Frankly it doesn't seem to have changed since the last time I was there some 20 years ago. Great service an enjoyable evening.
We came in at 930p and apparently it seemed like amateur night at the karaoke club here at the Spaghetti Factory. The music was painfully uncharacteristic to the ambiance that we grew up in. This place is for families but if wanting to get the evening crowd by this band, the results would not align with the goal. Get a lounge band instead of this grunge music that is quite inappropriate for the crowd at the Esplanade. Even C'est What? around the corner doesn't have this type of music. Though I come here for the spaghetti, I would know not to come in when the band arrives. Call ahead to make sure you are able to hear yourself.
You can't go wrong with The Old Spaghetti Factory!!!! They have the best Italian food anywhere on The Esplanade, the service is awesome, and this time, the ambiance was awesome! Very energetic and fun!!!! There is also a lot of hype about The Old Spaghetti Factory, and it is worth all the hype!!!!!!!!!! I have been going to The Old Spaghetti Factory ever since I was in the 2nd grade. I am now in grade 8 and I am 13, and the food quality has not changed ever since I fist went to The Old Spaghetti Factory.
What an amazing server we had, Josh (JP). We had taken our daughter for her 16th birthday, he made her feel so special. The staff was so freindly from the minute we walked in the door to minute we walked out. The food was not bad, the surrounding & staff made it better. Pricing, reasonable, we did not leave hungry. Would we go back, yah, I think so.
