We stopped overnight with our Motorhome ( the pub is a “Britstops” Pub). Excellent parking for the Motorhome, quiet and lovely outlook. The food was good typical British pub food with a good choice and reasonable prices. The service was also very good. Would definitely recommend this for motorhomers visiting the New Forest area, or enroute to the south coast.
Superb lunch, especially the swordfish with mango salsa. Outdoor dining area in summer is superb and pet friendly.
Indoor spaces beautifully refurbished. Staff of a high caliber; professional and friendly.
Overall it was very good, however, as the waiter was clearing the dessert plates away he said, and I quote "is that it then - do you want your bill now?" Then a pause "do you want anything else? Are you going to order another drink?"
It did not make us feel that we were overly welcome or that he had the slightest interest in anything other than closing up and going home.
Maybe it simply highlights the current difficulty of getting good experienced staff?
Excellent food and a lovely dog friendly pub. Will definitely visit again .
Great food and friendly helpful service. Felt safe and will continue to usefor business and personal visits.
This was our first time at the Old Inn and the visit did not disappoint. Delicious food, excellent service. Will definitely be visiting again
We had a fantastic afternoon at The Old Inn. Staff were so friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We sat at the front of the pub, which is really nicely set up, with gorgeous views across to the countryside.
We chose lighter dishes on the menu. My ham and mushroom omelette was the best I have ever tasted, and my friend loved her calamari and salad.
Our meals were excellent value for money, though other main meals and drinks are on the higher priced side, this is justified due to the quality and the service you receive.
Would highly recommend.
Lovely pub, lots of indoor and outdoor space.
The server was great however the time between our starter and main was an hour.
One off my favourite places to go but last night was so slow over an hour and 45 minutes for mains slow service and the food was not as good as has been
We visited the Old Inn on Friday 11th June our booking was for. 7.30.
Staff were very pleasant, and it was busy.
We were shown to our table offered a drink which took about 20 minutes then we had to ask for a menu, we ordered our starters took a little while to arrive by 9.20 we were still waiting for our main course which we were told would be another 10-15 minutes! We decided it was far to late to eat by now so we paid for what we had had and left! We were offered an apology but I would of expected some good will gesture in the way of taking one of our drinks off the bill , but nothing we were told it was because there was two large parties and some of their food had been sent back so they had to sort that first
We won’t be going back!
My only gripe was that we had to wait such a long time to receive and food. Over an hour for our first course is not really acceptable to me. Then another hour for our main. In the meantime the staff were asking if we wanted any more drinks...... Is this a ploy to make your order more drink? I think that the Old Inn have too many 'covers' now, and the staff in the kitchen cannot possibly cope! Shame........
Good all round - would have liked to have been more centrally seated (we were in a side room) but all in all a very nice evening, thanks
Great place to eat, I booked for my birthday, food was great, staff friendly and nothing to much trouble for them
OUTSTANDING FOOD FABULOUS SERVICE LOVE THE NEW OUTDOOR AREA
The four of us really enjoyed our lunch on Friday sitting outside under a large umbrella. Generous helpings of food and all delicious. Good service and we will certainly return again soon.
Charming staff, good food with generous helpings, lots of outside space with sheltered and shaded seating.
The quality and quantity of food was great! Attention of staff and sunny attitude outstanding- we will definitely be going back!
Lovely food and good service
Consistently excellent food, which is why we travel some distance to visit. PLUS, good Real Ale. Sadly, this combination is all too rare these days. I wish the Old Inn was closer to where we live, but I would put on weight if it was...
Great family get together and everything was perfect for us.
Very well fed and watered hospitality excellent. Thankyou all
Overall very good. I had the Sunday roast beef, which was excellent.
Good pub food as always. The Steak and Kidney pie was excellent as usual. Will be back soon.
Lovely space for families in the garden at the back, delicious Sunday roasts and children’s food was great too.
The food was good but the drinks were ludicrously expensive at £5 for a pint of beer and £6.50 for a medium glass of wine. The ambience could have been better but that was more to do with other diners being excessively noisy. It was also slightly chilly with doors to the outside being left open. Service was polite enough.
I had booked in advance as I have heard how popular this place can be We had arrived early before our table was ready, the staff are very friendly and were happy For us to have some drinks before our table was ready.
They catered for our every need, the food was excellent and the deserts were delicious!
This was my first visit and I would happily go back again and again.
Great food, and the waiting staff were very friendly and helpful
Great food and lovely setting outdoors. We had to wait 30 minutes for our prosecco and ask 4 times for it to be brought, a bit strange when all the other drinks were brought out quickly.
The sea bass was amazing and the children loved the pizza!
Really nice setting, improvements to outside eating great. Staff very friendly and attentive.
We are returning guests to The Old Inn and we weren't disappointed. The staff were so friendly, we were made to feel welcome and safe. The tables were comfortably spaced and the food was superb, what more can I say. We will be returning again.
Once again the food was fantastic, service was a bit slow but did not detract from the standard of the food. Price of drinks stupid.
We sat in the garden area, and had a lovely meal. Staff were very polite and helpful and the food was very good.
Highly recommend a visit
Lovely restaurant. Good decor, atmosphere. Great service, couldn’t fault it but thought the prices were a bit high.
Lovely pub, love the setting and the outdoor space is great
All staff were very attentive
Food was yum!
We’ll be back again soon
The staff very very attentive but not intrusive, food was exceptional, won’t hesitate to go back.
Friendly, welcoming, good service, great food, pleasant ambience.
Food and drink great. Service was good but arrival of food slow (although apologies if busy on the menu)
When I order a salad I don’t want it covered in dressing I might as well of had chip put dressing on the side please or not at all
Fantastic food and dinner with the sun setting was just what we were after.
Service was second to none, dining under the canopies and ambiance were good.
Food excellent. All Covid regulations in place.
