Shrimp cocktail, crab cake, sea bass. The sea bass was cooked perfectly. It was my birthday and I got a flan and chips and salsa. Enjoyed after dinner drinks. Best was just taking the elevator up after dinner. Lovely evening!

The food was great but we were the only table for an hour. A few service issues, nothing major, just details. The bar was very loud, made it hard to have a conversation in a room with only one table seated, us.

The food is amazing. I can see why it is rated #1 in Santa Fe. Service was ok at best.

Server was really low key. Food was slow coming out and my steak was way under cooked. By the time my steak was served, the ithers in the group were finished eating. He did take 15% off my meal without me having to ask

We noted that the restaurant had few diners, so took that as a clue we might not have made a good choice. As a result we ordered from bar menu. Calimari and nachos were mediocre. Nachos billed as "grilled"chicken, it it there were only a few nuggets of tasteless chicken.

Main courses were absolutely terrible. We went on a Thursday night. I didn't think it would be terribly busy, but it was the only night my husband and I could work out an anniversary meal together. I should have heard a bell ring when the hostess called to confirm our reservation, quoting the wrong times, then asking me to come in later because they were quite busy. My husband ordered the noodle paella, although it wasn't called that, and it was so salty he had to send it back. He rarely sends food back! He ordered a scallop and shrimp dish to replace it. When it finally came out, there were no scallops on it. No manager came to visit us. I had a beautiful piece of steak that was drowning in sauce. Again, way too salty. The meal presentation was horrible and the place is really loud acoustically. We were offered a free dessert for our anniversary. Gee,now I feel really special.... I had creme brûlée and my husband had a chocolate tort type thing. They were delicious. Kudos to the dessert maker. Shame on the head chef!

While the food was outstanding and all six of us agreed everything was delicious the service was the poorest we have had in a long time. As the hostess seated us she informed us that along with the regular menu there was also a three course dinner available. When our server was asked about this she either said they were out of it or it wasn't available. Wait time for getting our drinks was at least 15 minutes. We had to continually flag down our server for bread and butter plates, drinks and additional serving pieces. The whole wait staff disappeared for long periods and the only attentive one was the waiter filling our water glasses. Two of us were served our entrees and then another 15-20 minutes elapsed before the rest of our party was served. The Food and Beverage Director and/or the Restaurant Manager need to get on the floor and train their staff properly. We hadn't been to the Old House in a while and won't be back any time soon. It's a shame as the food was delicious and this was a birthday celebration.

It's expensive, but the food is delicious and the room is lovely. However, I do think they should have had a vegetarian option among the main courses on Saturday night. That said, the chef is outstanding.

Food was extremely disappointing. We had our wedding there 15 years ago and the quality of the food nor the menu selections are not any near what they used to be. Obviously not a choice for fine or even quality dining in Santa Fe, especially when there are so many more desirable options. Service was great---both the hostess Angelina and our waiter Salvatore. To top it off my rib eye was cold....took leftovers home and it was better two days later with eggs!!!!
Never to return...not even for a drink!!!!

New Year's Eve dinner so expecting the higher price-- $95 per person. However, usually there is something extra for the money (champagne, glass of wine, something). Food was excellent but meal ended up almost twice as much as a similar meal when we've been before--again with nothing to make it feel "special."

We have been coming to Santa Fe for Christmas since 2008.. This was by far the best choice for Christmas Brunch we have made over the years! Exquisite decor in all rooms, inviting fireplace, delicious foods, and incredible staff. Again, for $40 a person, the courses would have easily cost double had we gone to our usual dining hang-outs. We plan to eat here, again, next year!

The food was overpriced - the menu on the website is not the same as the one at the restaurant. The items on the menu were completely different and cost twice as much. The restaurant was empty on a Saturday night.

The online menu is very different from the menu at the restaurant as much higher. For example the price for the rib eye steak on line was $28 -- in the restaurant it was $54. Other entrees were similarly different priced.
The initial service was extremely slow, after we received water and some bread, it took about 30 minutes to make drink and dinner orders. Apparently the waiter was not aware he was to serve us.
Overall the food was decent but nothing outstanding particularly based on the actual prices.

The food was amazing. Both my wife and I loved our dinner. Drinks were also prepared very well. The service however was terrible. Took a long time to take order and we would often see wait staff talking instead of refilling waters. The food was good enough that I would recommend this place but be prepared to deal with bad service!

Three out of four meals arrived slowly, but in good order. The fourth, my lamb dinner, arrived overcooked at medium to medium well. At first the hostess disagreed, then returned to apologize and promised it would be replaced with medium rare. It arrived rare, with too much seasoned coating on the meat. The presentation looked haphazard as if it was thrown together with little concern for the final product. Not wanting to disrupt the evening further, I reflected my displeasure with my tip. Plus, valet parking validation lasts only two hours, after which they charge you $7. Given the delay, we went over the limit. I won't be returning soon.

We stayed at the Eldorado Hotel , Santa Fe last October 2016 for 3 nights. So we ate our breakfast at the restaurant everyday. The breakfast selection is limited although you can have your eggs cooked anyway you want. Service is good.

We had two dinners at the restaurant and both of them were well prepared, tasty and very well presented. The wine selection is good and the service is very good.

There is a peaceful ambiance reminiscent of a pueblo living.

I loved the look of the Hotel..... Very Old World Santa Fe, but Modernized Beautifully. Now, I was very pleased with the look, feel and ambience of the Old House Restaurant. Our server often forgot little requests we made, i.e., a glass of ice or some lemon for out iced tea. The server needed to be asked 2 or 3 times for the items. Our Spinach Salad was extraordinarily delicious, especially with the dressing. The bread was nice, but the butter was frozen, so much so, that we could not spread it on the bread. So we just set it aside, but never came back to it. After that our Entrees (Salmon and a Spanish Meat & Cheese Dish) were OK, but nothing special or memorable. When the bill came, I felt that I over-paid for the dinner! There are many excellent places in Santa Fe that deliver exceptional food and service for half the cost of a dinner at the Old House Restaurant. I think I would eat elsewhere.

The bread was great. The heirloom mozzarella salad was fantastic; the tomatoes were the largest I have ever seen. The seafood paella was very good except the lobster tail was split sideways, making me have to dig it out with my fingers and it was a little chewy. I had requested no hot spices, which was honored. The service was very slow, but very friendly. Don't go here if you're in a hurry. The ambience was typical of a conference hotel dining room. My biggest con is that it was so cold in there, I had to go back to the room and change into long pants and get a sweater. I could hardly wait to finish my meal and get somewhere warmer.

Even though the food was very good, because of the slow service, and very cold room, I wouldn't recommend a friend going out of his or her way to dine here, as there are many other fine restaurants in Santa Fe with better service and ambience. We ate here because we stayed at the hotel, (which I definitely do not recommend). But that is another story.

We will never never return. Scallops were old- could not finish them. Service was terrible. Had to keep asking for our drinks, our meal and dessert. This may have a great reputation because it is in the El Dorado, but folks , if you are considering this restaurant, choose another one. Santa Fe has too many outstanding restaurants with great service and great food. This was a major disappointment. We will never return or advise anyone to go. We told our waiter we had a concert to go to, but he just never paid attention to our table. We were ready to leave when he finally brought the dessert.

Closed on Sun night. For a hotel restaurant, the dumbest thing I've ever seen!
Again, for a hotel restaurant, worst service ever. Staff acted like they were being forced to work on Xmas, (it was mid July). Food is highly over rated. Both meals were poor at best.
We ended up eating at the Hilton - across the street. We heard that this & 2 other SF hotels are owned by an investment group. I'd make a few hotel/restaurant suggestions, but it would be useless because they seem to be "all about the profit" not the client, so good luck with that!

The food and service were excellent, however, in the bar lounge adjacent to the dining room there was a loud, vulgar man shouting and cursing at the prices of drinks. It took some time before the staff was able to quell the situation. The staff manager did apologize to us for the disturbance.
