The service was slow and at most times non-existing. We had to wave down our waitstaff to place our order or to request any additional service. When leaving we notice bread baskets on other tables however, we never received nor were we offered bread. Most everyone enjoyed their meals however, my mother and i ordered the feature Sea Bass for $33 and our serving was very minimal at most; we each had a 1/2" x 4" piece of Bass. I also notice my receipt showed the plate being split 3-ways; it was only to be split by 2.
Love this place. Service is great. Fast and efficient. Food is also so delicious
I have loved this restaurant for years
Food was below average. French fries were under cooked. It’s hard to mess up fries, but they did. The chicken salad had too much relish in it which over powered it, could not even eat much of it. Chicken in the wrap was over cooked and tough. My husband got the wrong menu item and had to send it back to get it corrected. The server was friendly and cordial, but that could not make the poor food. The salmon was the only item that was liked by my party. I will not return, it was a waste of money and a disappointment
Server was very new and did not know specials or menu but he tried very hard A+ for effort
We went for Easter Brunch; ate in the screened in outdoor section- it was great. Wonderful atmosphere; great service and great food.
Food was great. Both had crab cakes. Service attentive. Only negative was fat lady sitting behind my wife kept hitting her chair.
We were sat on the patio. The temputure with the heaters was way too hot. Despite that we had a nice time. Service was great.
8 of us and I had made a reservation, so it thought we would have been inside .They put us out side in a zipped up room with heat blowing - it ended up being fine - my daughters loved the fish in the pond out there! The waitress was efficient but not very friendly. The food was delicious, including homemade strawberry cake for dessert!
Too cold to sit outside on the patio, but usually quite nice. Inside was quite loud. The seating was close, but not uncomfortably so. Wait staff were friendly, and their dress was very casual. They were VERY accurate with our meals and the timing was not rushed. In fact, just right from beginning to end.
The service was great. Our food arrived fast and it was so fresh and delicious.
This is the second year in a row where we have made reservations and because they have a big party coming in, they have rushed us through. We ordered an appetizer, which came out suspiciously fast, and the waiter then asked three times in a five minute period if we would like to order our main course. It took came out suspiciously fast and as did the bill, which came as he asked about dessert. Good food, nice place but if they can't handle small tables and big parties, then they need to give up one or the other.
Food was very good. Our sever was very good as well. We have been here several times and have always been pleased.
Would have given 5 stars but 6 of us were in a booth and it was loud. It was very difficult to carry on a conversation. Next time we will try to remember to request a table.
Overall great. Salmon was undercooked but manager took care of it.
My girlfriend and I visited this place this past Saturday. This restaurant was mediocre at best. The food came out fast (less than 10 minutes), the waiter was attentive, and the atmosphere was nice, that's about all there was that was good. When looking at the menu online I had decided that I wanted the seafood pasta. However, upon arriving at the restaurant that was not on the menu so I ordered the flank steak, this food had so much promise, and it fell way short of that promise. Neither the steak nor the vegetables had any taste, not even the slightest hint of salt or pepper. My girlfriend ordered the bbq chicken, her chicken was tough and was missing key ingredients listed on the menu. Needless to say we will never be back.
Everything was wonderful!! My Fiancé and I were there to celebrate Valentine's Day. We had a lot of fun. The food was excellent! We truly enjoyed it!
A delicious and friendly place to meet with friends especially on special celebrations!
Yummy food. Excellent kids menu. A great experience!
We had a very enjoyable Valentine's Day dinner. They consistently deliver great food and wonderful service.
Excellent experience and service, one our favorites
Met a friend for brunch. Had a nice table but glad I made a reservation! Server was very helpful. Was a little loud at the end of our meal. We both enjoyed our meal but nothing that really stood out. My friend has their special pancake selection that is their signature pancake. Too much going on .. trying too hard etc. I would go back for the location but I think their are better brunch places
Great food and Tim was a great server. Too much noise from the next table. I feel as if the management should have ask them to be less vocal.. This is a great restaurant, it's a shame that they have to cater to the sports bar type crowd also.
We had asked to sit inside but instead were seated outside with several large parties.
Good! Nothing to add!
Nice to sit near fireplace
A great visit with friends. Food and service was awesome. I look forward to my next visit!
Everything was great except our reservation was at 6:30 and we were not sat until 6:50. A reservation for 6:45 was sat before us which I couldn’t understand. Our server Christian was a great and attentive guy.
Delicious food and a wonderful cozy spot to catch up with friends! We love coming here!
Our first time here was great. It has a warm and friendly environment. Our server and service was excellent. Food was really good. We'll be back.
Best waitress!!!
This is one of my favorite places for outdoor dining in WS. The courtyard is beautiful and quaint and the outside wall cuts down the road noise a bit. Inside, the restaurant is definitely "Old"...it could use some sprucing up in order for the inside to match the outside's ambiance. Food was very good...portions were substantial and the wait staff friendly and competent. Great value for the $.
The shrimp and grits are amazing!
The Filling Station is one of our favorites because we can count on consistently good food and service. We really enjoy eating outside in nice weather but sitting near the fire inside was great on a cold night.
Been here many times and tonight it just wasn't as good. My steak came out and was full of grizzle and fat. While they immediately took care of the steak a little more attention prior to cooking the steak would've gone a long way. The rest of my party of 7 were finished with dinner and my "new" steak was still on the grill. Not wanting to have them wait and have to watch me eat it, I asked the server to cancel the steak since everyone else was finished. He stated he would get it packaged to go for me. When he presented the check he informed me they had removed the original steak from the receipt which was the correct thing to do. When I asked about the one he was packaging to go he informed me that they just cancelled the order. Interestingly enough a manager never visited the table to check on us or to discuss the problem. That's an issue for me. Good customer service only takes a couple of seconds.
The rest of my party enjoyed their meals and we had a good time together. Unfortunately I went home and made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
Just disappointed to spend $245.00 on a meal and have to do a PBJ at the end.
We went for Christmas Eve brunch-certainly a very busy time for a small restaurant. We had a reservation and arrived on time. Our table was not ready. The hostess assured us it would just be a matter of cleaning an available one. Ten minutes later, is the matter of cleaning a different table. We were seated within 15 minutes or so. I was disappointed to learn that they were out of the dish I ordered about 5 minutes after the order had been put in. I ordered a more expensive entree, and was charge at full price. I ordered a children's entree for my daughter. This came with an included drink, which wasn't brought until we asked after the entrees had arrived. My flatware was dirty and I asked for a replacement. Unfortunately, we received the food while I didn't have any available flatware and had to get up to ask the hostess for a new set. The food was good and the prices are very reasonable. Everyone was very nice, I think they were perhaps a bit understaffed that day to function at the highest level. I will go back hoping for a better experience next time on a less busy day.
A busy Christmas Eve brunch. Great service. Good food with broad selection. Need to return to try other dishes.
Consistent great food and service.
This restaurant features outstanding food and terrific service! I ordered a cider sangria cocktail, which was delicious and highlighted winter spices, like cinnamon and clove. For my entree, I had the beef tips and smoked Gouda over pasta, which was excellent. The beef was tender and the smokiness of the cheese went very well with the pasta. For dessert, we shared the chocolate bourbon pecan pie, which was equally terrific.
Our server, Brittany, made good suggestions, was very welcoming, and appropriately attentive. Most of the entrees range from $20-$30. If you’re looking for a fine meal in s casual setting, I highly recommend The Old Filling Station.
Great as always
Crowded and running late on reservations (and this was at 6PM). That said, the servers were very welcoming and no one rushed us. Food was good. Would return but might have a back up if this proves to always be this crowded.
