Food was very mediocre. Kids steak was barely eatable- super chewy and lots of gristle. Salmon over cooked. Food not seasoned well overall. Salmon served with carrot purée and sliced carrots - just an odd carrot heavy combo in my opinion. Good beer selection but I asked for the bartender’s choice of lagers and one of his choices was plain ol’ Coors Light??? I was hoping for better choices than that- they had at least 6 lagers on the menu.
Good food. Great outdoor spot. Service was awful. Asked for extra napkins...nada. Couldn’t find him when needed. Never came to check on us. Took long time for him to come over to take our order.
Was NOT busy.
Pack a lunch! Have gone here 3x and service is super slow and not very attentive. Food is fine but certainly not worth the wait.
Great staff, plenty of parking a block away... great for business lunch
Everything was lovely. They don't have a lot of gluten free options and their gf list is outdated. But they did try to work with me to find food I could eat. My boyfriend was excited because they has magic hat on tap.
Perfect for a casual Sunday evening family night out. Great service and decent pub food.
Free range rotisserie chicken was awesome, plus the beer selection is great!
Always a positive, fun, vibe. Friendly service and a good assortment of food.
Everything we had was good. The special of the day soup was chicken tortilla and it was great.
Was never there before but I’ll go back w the kids. The sweet potato nachos were delicious. My son loved his mussels!
Parking is horrible! You must know the area to find the out of the way parking spots. Since it is across from the train station cars are everywhere! If you need easy in and out this is not your place. Burger was just ok with bacon that was barely cooked. No rush to go back.
Food was good...waiter was friendly and quick.
Dinner with my kids, spouses and grandkids. Lots of fun. Kids like the kids menu, which makes it a lot easier. Service was just right, attentive but not overbearing.
We had a good time but we were perplexed how a small basket of fries could be $6 while a delicious flat bread pizza with multiple toppings and sufficient to share could be priced at only $12. Something seemed amiss but when we pointed out the apparent mispricing our waitress was more than happy to give us an extra helping of fries. The beer flights were good and the service was excellent. Two thumbs up.
Relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. Not too noisy. Good menu, food and value.
We choose a corner table because we were talking business, but unfortunately had to seek out our server a few times because we seemed out of their servers view. But other than that the food was great and I would recommend The Office to friends.
Food was very good. Service was spot on! We enjoyed the new waitress who was learning her trade well.
Overall, one step above a Dennys.
Had a very nice dinner for two. Chicken and waffles with a flatbread. Bit pricey but worth it for a nice night a good food
We went for father's day. The food was OK - not great. I do have a couple complaints:
1. The online brunch menu did not match what they actually had. My daughter was very excited for cinnamon rolls, but when we got there it was no longer on the menu. This was a problem since i was dealing with a 10 year old.
2. They served ice coffee, but it was clearly just hot coffee poured over ice. That is (somewhat) ok, except that no one told me in advance.
The boneless chicken wings were too dry
Our daughter told us to get the sweet potato nachos, they were very good. We also ordered a Tavern burger, which was good, and fish and chips which were just OK and I wouldn't order them again.
It was very noisy, and I wouldn't want to go with a group where you want to actually have a conversation, but for two of us at a small table it was fine.
We would eat there again.
Friendly waiter good food
Great Sunday brunch options! Note that alcohol isn't served until noon so you have to wait for your Mimosa :) great kids menu options and very nice for a family get together. Service was terrific. We will be back!
Fries were cold as were the fish tacos. Were they sitting in the window for 15 minutes? I don't know but tasted like that. Terrible food today!
Very good service from a friendly and accommodating staff. Food is good not great. Nice selection of beers.
I don't get into summit too much but I was visiting a friend from out of ;)
I had not been to the Office in Summit since their renovation. We love the train paintings and train mural! The servers were all friendly and knowledgeable about the food. The food was very good and there are lots of choices. A great place to eat!
Was pleasantly surprised. Loved the new decor. Food was really good. Would like to se a more varied menu. Definitely going back.
Excellent, interesting food. Great service! The only problem is the noise, which was considerable on the Saturday evening when we were there.
Food is mediocre at best, but the environment is fine for a casual group lunch.
Our server tried to push us out. Kept returning to the table to pressure us to leave even though we were enjoying our drinks and there were plenty of open tables. Even took a full bottle of after off the table. An overall good experience lessened by amateurish service.
We took our 2 young grand-children to the Office last Saturday. I was very good for them, the had a child menu and were given etch-a-skecthes to play with and that was fun to play games with them. the best were the homemade tater tots! The french fries and the sweet potato fries though were soggy.
The kids enjoyed it but We would probably not go back. The menu sounds good but not executed well.
Booked the reservation in advance as a birthday dinner with my family - my first mistake. When we arrived, the noise level coming out of the dining room was very loud - usually not a big deal and expected for a full restaurant but the noise was immediately identifiable as a line to see Santa - crying and unruly infants and toddlers seated at practically every one of the tables in the dining room! We should have went elsewhere - second mistake (the high bar tables were full or we would have moved over there). I seriously thought there was a day care or pre-school convention going on but alas we just hit this place at the WRONG time - 6 PM - which you wouldn't normally associate as the Romper Room hour. Not being from the immediate area, I missed the memo indicating The Office was the "in place" to go after the "Mommy and Me" and "Music Together" classes let out. On a less-surprising note, the food was what you would expect from a pub-style restaurant - fish and chips (pretty good), burgers and fries, etc. Our waiter was good and so was the service. Despite the chaos, I guess the kitchen was able to accommodate the hundreds of chicken fingers orders from the pre-school diners so our orders were not delayed too badly - better than you would expect with every table filled with crayons and coloring books. We were just so soured by the noise and activity level going on around our table complete with running toddlers and 50-something new-age parents distantly following behind with diaper bags and bundles of jackets in tow trying not to upset their little ones with psychiatry-inducing rules or stern words.
We were heading home from the Newark, NJ airport and picked the The Office Tavern Grill based on location and burger selection and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is very nice, the service was great and the food was very good and I would recommend to anyone in the Summit area.
How does a flatbread pizza arrive cold? Mine did. I like The Office but service was slow and food came cold.
The food presentation was stellar! It's too bad that the food was not as good as it looked.
Delicious as usual!
This is my first visit to the Office restaurant since there total renovation. They did a great job on the renovation, very well done. Our water was the best part of the meal, it went down hill from there. I had a great glass of beer and the others were not happy with there drinks. The food as described on the menu look good. We had a warm spinach dip, not bad. The pizza or flat bread looked good but I did not taste it. I had the pulled chicken taco's and they were just ok except for the two pieces of bone in one of them. The midnight fries aka disco fries were described well but blah, sauce lacking flavor and a few blobs of cheese and did I mention in this tiny bowl which cost $7. With that being said I most likely will not be returning.
The Fish & Chips were terrible! Super thick batter and barely any fish. It was served room temperature and very soggy. NO tarter sauce served, was told they didn't have any, really!? Even the coleslaw was served room temperature. Sorry, any warm salad is not a good.
