Always a favorite. Love the scene since 25 yars ago. The food was very good this time, except for profiteroles, which were dry and uninteresting. The service is seamless, swift, smooth and unobtrusive. Despite the noise level, it’s comforting to hear conversation en masse. No rock and roll music to shout over.
Our local neighborhood restaurant that we love and adore. Nostalgic and delicious. Special thanks to beautiful and stylish Roya - the hostess with the mostess.
The place still looks terrific after all these years. The food is even better than I remembered
Went with family. Very nice atmosphere and great food.
I work in the courthouse next to the restaurant and have dined at this restaurant often for business lunches. This time, the hostess refused to honor my booth request - a booth sat empty for 20 minutes - then, when she realized I had "status," she moved my party of 3 to the booth. That is precisely the kind of arrogance I try to avoid. In future, I will find another place to dine.
Odeon is a go-to for business breakfast. Always great service, and a straightforward but well executed menu.
The Odeon never really seems to change, but that's not a bad thing. There are "classics" on the menu that are a comfort when you come here. It's very lively, but you can still have a conversation. Over the years, the prices have inched up and are now a bit excessive for what is being offered. Still, you're at The Odeon!
Very no nonsense tasty and well prepar d food. Great bartenders, waiters and service!
Continue to go back and does not disappoint!
Superb sauces. Wonderful dining experience.
Not as amazing as the legend would have it. my first time here and I have lived in NYC 20+ years. Perhaps expectations were too high.
Great burger, incredible chocolate lava cake
Staff was lovely and extremely sweet. I have dietary restrictions and they catered to it completely (they added no salt to my meal). I also loved the food nothing super complex but well prepared and light. Very quaint atmosphere as well.
My nicoise salad was almost sent back. Poor knife work and less-than-fresh ingredients. Calamari was wonderful. Service was solid. Interior was old school and filled with well dressed business people.
Lovely evening with friends in a perfect table: round and in the window. Drinks all around followed by very good food, including some specials of the day and the new pasta dish (mushroom ravioli: good) on the permanent menu. Although the restaurant got busier and busier, we were not rushed out. Everyone was gracious. No wonder Odeon is a favorite.
We chose the Odeon for my birthday because we couldn't get a reservation at Balthazar. We were a party of 6. The place was packed and noisy. It was difficult to hear each other talk. The service was merely okay. When we'd order a new bottle of wine, it took a long time to arrive. The food was acceptable, but not "wow". We ordered "Pressed Octopus" as an appetizer. I know what that dish is supposed to look like. It wasn't "pressed". The artichoke dip was fine, but no different than a neighborhood pub. My main course was the Steak Frites. Very acceptable. I would go back, if in the neighborhood, but with modest expectations. Wish I could have gotten into Balthazar.
Literally looked up for my waiter for a split second, someone immediately came over and asked if I needed anything. Amazing.
Always a nice reliable choice, a favorite of mine for years ( pretty much since it opened, scary to think about being so old) and consistently pleasant dining for parties of any size. I have never had a bad meal here.
Consistently delicious and great service, every visit.
Love the food and the ambiance makes you feel like you have traveled back in time. Loved all of it!
Sam our waiter was stellar, beyond attentive. Quite stellar, in fact. Give this young man a raise in rank, please. We would be delighted to see him again.
Enjoyable, good food, pleasant helpful staff
Basic Sunday breakfast, decent service and food.
Awesome neighborhood gem in Tribeca for all occasions
The staff, food, and scene always deliver. In my top 5 of all time.
Food wasn’t as good as I’ve had there
I chose this spot for my wedding reception - a downtown classic! Desserts are outstanding.
Food was surely good enough and mostly as expected. Server was on point, friendly and made good suggestions. Then came the wine (after I finished my negroni). The glass was decent but at the last 1/3 of it got an unusually large sip of sediment. I mentioned it to the server and pointed to the glass that clearly showed the remaining sediment that I didnt swallow. Her response was "that happens often with that wine". Really? Very bad answer on so many levels. I asked her to mention it to management and she said she would. On principal, either comp the drink, re-pour or at least have management come over and say something?!? Put a bad taste in my mouth. Literally. Bad form guys...
Solid brunch and drinks in a classic, old school atmosphere.
We had a nice time, food was ok, but nothing to rave about.
Had not been to Odeon in many years; used to enjoy it a lot, and enjoyed it this time also. But its tables (have they added more?) are so crowded, hard for servers to get through; hard for customers to get in and out, much less make one's way to the restroom. Even by NY standards, really crowded. Food is good although overpriced. Ambience is best part.
This neighborhood restaurant has been around for years, but it never tires. The space is warm and inviting as are the staff and the french bistro food is excellent. I would recommend.
Very nice menu and good, prompt service. The Oysters were especially fresh and tasty. The atmosphere is a bit old-school, put we would definitely go back!
Service was unusually good; Paris Bistro fare and atmosphere
Great atmosphere in a restaurant that does not have too many tourists. Service was brilliant at the table a bit stiff greeting at the door but otherwise truly worth a visit!
It was a great dinner with really great service! Salmon was amazing and the steak was fantastic and cook to perfection, which isn’t an easy task! And the warm donuts for dessert...... AWESOME! Definitely worth going!
Great:
-Atmosphere
-Service
-Meal
-Space
Solid bistro fare. In a non-foodie city this would be outstanding, but in NY it’s just ok. If you’re looking for traditional, it’s a good bet.
An 11:00 breakfast/lunch on a cold Saturday morning was the perfect way to begin the weekend. By the time we left, the restaurant was filled. Going earlier is definitely more pleasant.
Always a good experience although the classic Odeon frisée salad just isn’t what it once was. Much smaller, few, small lardons.
I have ALWAYS loved the ODEON, been going there for YEARS and its essential character
has never changed, maye a bit less of a BIG "HOTSPOT" for hipsters and such, but the gain
is in the comfort of QUALITY LONGEVITY in a city where so much feels it has to CHANGE
all the time.
I would say, a CLASSIC of the sort that I welcome. Reliable food, not TOOOOO crazy expensive,
and noise level does not PREVENT real conversation.
PLUS the barperson will make me a BULLSHOT, a cocktail from the mid twentieth century that
I ADORE and that few bother with anymore, so that ALONE kind of assures my loyalty....
