Went with the girlfriend on date night. Transports you to a dimly lit, retro eatery from the 1980s. Fantastic menu, service, and atmosphere. I got the pasta and it was delicious. Girlfriend got the sticky purple rice bowl and enjoyed it immensely. Kale Caesar salad was also phenomenal.

A typical dining at Odeon: welcoming hosts, good cocktails and wine, efficient wait and bus staff, well cooked food and an espresso worth drinking. What more could one want?

The warm donut bites (appetizer) and accompanying raspberry and butter maple sauces are to die for! Also highly recommend the croque monsieur.

This used to be my “go to” restaurant when visiting lower Manhattan/Tribeca. Made a reservation on Open Table, followed up with a phone call to the restaurant to ask for a “nice” table for three since friends would be coming for the first time.
The table, which seemed to be an add on, was a table suitable for 2 but with 3 place settings, adjacent to the kitchen door. Every server, every kitchen helper rushed by the corner throughout the meal.
The restaurant was jammed both with people and additional tables! Could barely walk between tables to get to the door!
The food was good, service friendly. Glad the 3rd friend’s flight didn’t allow her to make the dinner. One less person to apologize to! And I had touted that it would be a stellar experience!
Again, this used to be a favorite place but last Friday will be my last!
What a shame the owners resorted to treating diners like cattle! There are many dining options in TriBeCa. Even legends like the Odeon should strive to preserve and protect what once was a good reputation!

Wonderful as always. Today’s specials especially good: red pepper soup and a pasta. And the hamburger+ fries. Cocktails and wine completed the meal. Ignore any complaints.

Continues its tradition of downtown fabulousness. Can’t beat those uniforms. Food is classic bistro / brwsserie fare. Also a great bar for meet ups. And they gave me the booth that I wanted, which is always nice.

Always a consistent experience - great food, energetic scene, great service and neighborhood gem. Been here in the area for 20+ years and have watched many of the restaurants change over and go away, sincerely hoping that this landmark is here to stay. Would recommend to all - have given this place as a referral to tourists, visiting friends, and was my choice for a friends' holiday gathering. Good value on food, although one of us had a great deal of sediment at the bottom of her wine glass, it didn't damper our experience.

An old stalwart since 1980, still an art deco gem. Nice simple menu, great location, been going since the old, naughty days. Still a go-to place in Tribeca.

I thought the service was poor. The waiter seemed like he needed a nap. He did not being bread till we asked for it and did not refill the basket. But for asking us if we wanted another drink he was nowhere to be found. Had zero personality and seemed as disinterested as possible.
Myfriend’s sauce was cold and sent back twice to no avail. She was told that’s how it comes out of microwave. Really?
I had trout and it was delicious and well presented.

We showed up at 5:00 pm. We were given a lunch menu, not a dinner menu. The chef would not let us order from the dinner menu, which starts at 5:30. The waitress was not too friendly. We wound up slow-walking an appetizer and glass of wine to accommodate the “rule”. At 5:30 there was a shift change, and our new waiter was an improvement. We were disappointed in both Odeon and Open Table for not disclosing the menu issue upfront. Otherwise, the experience was good.

Came in Sunday around 3 for a late lunch. Specifically for French onion soup. We'd tried to go to Balthazar first but it was full up--we still wanted the soup and a kind of buzzy ambiance. The restaurant was a bit quieter then expected and not quite the bustling vibe we were looking for, but the soup was great as were the fries and warm donuts. Would go again (maybe with parents or kids) for a low key family brunch.

A friend joined us for drinks at the bar followed by dinner. We were early; nonetheless, both the bar and the restaurant were filled to overflowing. That fact did not alter the well cooked food and the professional service that we always find at the Odeon. A wonderfully festive evening.

As usual for this standby, food and service were outstanding. I note however that a relatively small side Caesar salad of just greens, a minuscule shaving of Parmesan and crouton was pretty ridiculous at $16, which would usually be cost for entree-sized salad

Still fun after all these years. Some interesting dishes plus the usual french bistro fare, which I found comforting. (Not every meal has to be an adventure.) Great atmosphere, excellent people-watching. Both my appetizer and main course were less than piping hot but it was a crowded Saturday night, and you can't have everything. Would go back.
