Born in NYC and essentially "grew up" with The Odeon. Moved to San Francisco in 1993 but knowing the Odeon is still around after all these years away and better than ever, provides a certain sense of solidarity and familiarity with an ever changing NYC.
great location, lovely food, friendly staff, nice interior, we love the steak tartare with frites
A slow Sunday night we thought; 15 minutes later every table was taken. As always: welcoming hosts, wonderful server, great food and drinks.
Its a classic in NYC, has stood the test of time . Food always good, plus it always has a nice crowd .
We went to the Odeon for Sunday brunch and really enjoyed it. Food was excellent and came out quickly, service was attentive without being intrusive, and even though the restaurant was very busy, we didn't have to shout or struggle to hear each other over the noise. We didn't feel rushed, which isn't always the case in Manhattan restaurants. We would definitely go back. Try the croque monsieur!
Have dined at Odeon many times - socially and for business lunches. I thought the salmon burger was dry this time. I usually have the frisee salad or omelette and these are great. I love that this restaurant continues to be priced fairly and has such great service. I wish they would include service in the bill and discontinue tipping. I favor restaurants that have implemented that change.
Hanger Steak special was seasoned and grilled to perfection.
But the home made pistachio icecream with fudge sauce was the best pistachio ice cream I have ever tasted. Two of us ordered it, and we were both in a swoon. Full sized pistachios!
The Odeon is always great: an essential institution
The frisée salad was FANTASTIC!
We live one block from the Odeon. In the 32 years we have been in Tribeca, I suppose we've eaten there 400 times. That tells you something quite important: it's a consistent, remarkable place. The food, staff, and ambiance are impeccable.
The Odeon NEVER gets old it’s a mainstay that’s why it’s still going strong after all these years, this is what you want in a restaurant, CONSISTENTCY
Great food. I always forget how much I like it.
Great service and a terrific buzz on a Sunday early afternoon. The food is consistently good an the servers always friendly, nice and professional. We would highly recommend this neighborhood gem!
Sadly Odeon isnt what she used to be. Probably the worst eggs Benedict I’ve had since I tried to make it myself. Very sorry to say this.
We just love the Odeon. It’s always good food, good service and good peopme watching.
Classic and always great!
The ambience was great and upbeat for a Friday lunch. Place was packed, but wait-staff was attentive, timely, and fun. The food was superb-French-Fries /frites a
must. Always a good place to go-anytime, day or night.
Loud, overpriced and don't bother to make a reservation since they'll keep you waiting as if you just walked in the door. The food is nothing special, either.
The Gold Standard in Tribeca. Time hasn't tarnished this place at all and in fact has only helped it grow and become greater.
Great food. Great service. New menu items. It’s consistently a nice place to eat!
As usual, the meal and service was on spot. It was a Sunday late afternoon so the restaurant noise level was low.
Classic NYC restaurant. Everyone was so nice about the toddler in our party, and her stroller. LOVE this place, it feels like home.
Great place ! Simple meals, great service - wine list could be improved
Excellent experience. Food, service, ambiance-all spot on as always. Highly recommend.
I love the food and professional service but noise is an issue . Expert steak frites and cocktails!
Excessive wait for everything. Never anticipated anything.
Good food is not everything:
- Poor service - we were asked 7 times in less than 2 minutes if we were finished with our (1/2 EATEN) plates. And no, we did not have another dish after this one. So this is not even the excuse of "your food is now ready"
-Glasses of wine. I mean, really? You pay $18 just to have your wine served in those cafeteria look like glasses!
-We waited 17 minutes to get another round of drinks (wine) and when we did, one out of the three was missing.
-Serious lack of training
Food was good. But this is the second time in 4 months that i have experienced bad service
Great experience as always. Food was delicious.
Hostess took special effort to seat us at a great table knowing we were celebrating our daughter’s birthday. Excellent food, great service
Our server was fantastic. Attentive without being overbearing. This classic institution is reminiscent of a nostalgic time in NYC. Good menu selections with innovative daily specials.
Roya is amazing!!!!! Had an extraordinary experience!!! Xo
Ordered the pork chop and it was very well done, tough and inedible. I sent it back and hostess brought it back to the table and felt like I had to prove it was dried out .
Replaced it with a steak that i ordered medium and it was
Well done and dried out. Seems like a bad chef because food is usually good.
Ordered sides of Brussels sprouts and asparagus . Reminded waitress several times and they came as dinner was finished .
Father-daughter trip to NYC. Odeon is always great and dependable. The only downside was that our table was at the wait station
Just casually superb and wonderful as always. The staff is genuinely very pleasant, from the charming stylish hostesses to the bartenders and the waiters and the back staff. The lighting is perfect, being Dom enough to be both romantic and comfortable adequate at the same time. I always feel transporter to another place in time, like bistros in Paris, Morocco, New York and California during the 1920s and 30s. I know the meals will always be wonderful and enjoyable for any number of familu, friends and business associates. It’s a “win win”.
Have loved Odeon for over thirty years. Holds up as coolest, bustling, most delicious place ever.
I used to eat at the Odeon regularly when I worked a block away. It's still great except for the noise which compelled me and my dinner companion to shout in order to talk to each other.
Please never close and never change, this restaurant is so great as is!
We ordered the beef tartar as an appetizer to share. It was one of the tastiest I've ever had. Our fish and mussel entrees were just as yummy. Waitstaff was quite attentive and competent. Definitely a good place to go with a group or as a date night outing. Everything was excellent with the tiny exception that I wished the seating was not as close to each other. It felt like we were crammed into tables and seating with little room to move in and out of our tables. Thanks.
