Good service, temperature of food on arrival was just right. Nice value, salad choices with entre,Wine purchased was not outstanding but very adequate.Fish was well prepared with fresh well cooked vegetables. The red snapper flavor was excellent, texture could have been a little more tender.Price was fair. This restaurant has nice ambiance,is very clean and tables are spaced well for privacy.
Our 3 rd visit and it keeps getting better! Wonderful meal in a relaxing and warm ambience. A real jewel in this part of the state. I had Max special Lobster tails - outstanding. My wife had the Snapper- a real delight. Can't wait to go back.
Breaded lobster was fresh, cooked perfectly, seasoned very well. I was a little concerned about new owners, but they were very wise to keep the quality of food and the employees from the previous owner. I will go back.
Nice little find that was a little off the beaten path from Long Beach Island. More on the expensive side, but well worth it. Cozy atmosphere, great service, excellent food. Though we don't live close, will make the trip to try it again.
Service was very professional & cordial. Ambiance & décor delightful. Menu, although primarily seafood, was varied enough & inventive. My duck dinner was not quite as perfect as my husband's seafood dinner. So when in Rome...
Really nice meal. Everything was freshly prepared and my sea bass entree was especially good. Portions were very nice as that used to be my biggest complaint at OG, but not anymore! Highly recommend dining here.
If you want to eat healthy fish prepared perfectly, this is the place to go. The menu is well-rounded with a large selection of fish but also has enough non-healthy non-seafood entries for your carnivorous friends to enjoy as well. The seasonings and sauces are gourmet and service was attentive but not intrusive. What a gem.
Very good, as usual, but disappointed that the lobster special was changed over the last few months. Was $28 with chowder and salad, now $29.5 with Xtra costs for soup and salad.
Frequent diners at OG's will be aware that ownership has changed. There are changes which is to be expected but the basic items and experience remain largely unchanged. Service is excellent. Some prices have increased and there is some nickel and diming such as now paying $2 for soup on lobster night. Theme nights such as half price appetizers and desserts have been replaced with an email list called the Inner Circle making offers. We imagine some guests may not like the changes, some may not mind and some may not even notice. There seem to be more non-fish items on the menu but the seafood based theme is still alive and well. Love the jazz music in the background...
Outstanding fresh seafood. They made some slight changes to the menu but the quality and value are still there. Highly recommend the whole lobster.
Unfortunately I got really sick after eating here. And I was not impressed with the food
The cod was absolutely delightful, the scallops were large and underwhelming in flavor. On a prior visit the scallops were the tiny bay variety and more flavorful. The cup of chowder was very tasty, but it was the smallest cup I've ever seen. What totally made the evening was the excellent waitstaff.
One of the few that are on the top of our list. The best within our local area.
Good seafood and steak. Nice variety of entrees, Service, knowledgeable, helpful, courteous.
Owner walks around to visit tables.
We have been to this restaurant over a dozen times over the past several years. There have been a few changes that we noticed on out last visit. The olive spread that come with the bread is gone, and the portions have been reduced. Only thing I would recommend to the new owners, if it isn't broken don't fix it! We really enjoy this restaurant, and would hate to see it change for the worst! Thank you.
I have eaten here once before in season and really enjoyed my dinner. On this visit I was very disappointed. The coconut shrimp was encased in a very thick batter and the sweet and sour dipping sauce did not taste at all similar to any sweet and sour that I have ever had. It seemed like more of a fruit chutney. Additionally the salad dressing really had a very "off" flavor and some of the greens were wilted.
Not rushed. Food was as expected. We did early bird, it was a nice amount of food.
Been here several times and it has always been great.
On our most recent visit, which was our second, we once again had an enjoyable experience. Known for seafood, my wife enjoyed crab cakes, while I had the sea bass. Both dishes were very good. This particular Saturday night found there to be light crowd, which was fine for us. The dining room is attractive and adds to the dining experience. One of the best restaurants we have found in the Forked River area.
Always a good meal with interesting combinations. I finally ordered the duck, which was terrific. We have never not enjoyed anything, from the appetizers to the desserts.
Very pleased with this restaurant. Nice ambiance, delicious food, and wonderful service. Would recommend this for both special occasion or just when you want to go out for a nice dinner.
We always have great shrimp and Lobster dinners. The restaurant has daily specials which are also worth trying.
I have been coming here for years. The food and the service are always excellent, staff is warm and friendly as well as accommodating. It is truly a "big city" restaurant hiding out in the Pine Barrens! If you have not been there yet, you are missing something!
We always ask to be seated in the "quiet " room ! Fun evening celebrating my husband's birthday with friends! Food was very good. We usually have the server in the room in the rear of the building, this time, however, we were seated in the room off to the side of the entrance! We missed her!
Returned after a year only to be disappointed. Every dish brought was bland (no taste). The calamari was tough and not crispy, the duck was dry, the mushroom risotto again was bland and the apple lasagna had apples with no sweetness along with a mushy crust. That was just my dinner. The other three guests we're also disappointed in their meal. Would be returning to this joint!
We are frequent customers for their Friday night lobster dinner which is terrific. But I am disappointed that they are no longer on the Open Table network.
Had reservation for 6:45 but still had to wait 20 minutes
Very good. Fresh food, attentive service and affordable.
We were a party of six everyone was pleased with their meals . The tuna was cooked as requested .
Enjoy going to this restaurant. Great ambiance, service & very classy. The food is consistently very good. The early bird specials are a great value but need to be seated before 5:30.
Consistently good food and service. Pretty atmosphere. Good for a date night or group with friends.
One of our favorite go to restaurants for over 15 years.
We were staying in Beach Haven and decided to take the short drive to dine at the Octopus Garden. Lucky for us it was a Friday night so we were able to take advantage of the Lobster Special. For only $28 we got delicious clam chowder, a caesar salad, a fresh steamed lobster and a baked potato. It is a BYOB too. It is a lovely restaurant with great service. Give it a try.
Clam chowder was not great, thin and not much flavor. Tuna poke was do salty it was difficult to eat, and the flavor of the fish was drowned out by soy. Crab legs were ok but certainly not a stand out.
We visit the Octopus Garden periodically and it is consistently excellent for atmosphere, service and quality of seafood with excellent presentation.
Always a great evening out. We especially enjoy the lobster special on Thursday and Friday evenings. We have had dinner at the Octopus's Garden often and it never disappoints.
This was the second visit and just as good as the first. Everything was freshly prepared and the portions were large. Be sure to look at the daily specials because it is a great value if you are in the neighborhood. We'll definitely return.
Excellent food, great service and a good atmosphere. Definitely recommend this restaurant.
Our go to place for lobster on Thursdays and Fridays or for great fish any day!!!
We have always had a great dining experience at Octopus' Garden!
Loved our recent server!
We enjoy this place from seating to eating. We also love the fact that we can bring our own wine... Always good and open table made it easy
