We didn’t know what to expect, except that it’s difficult to get a table at the Ocean House and that by judging from the menu and reviews, the food would be amazing. All true. I got lucky with a 9pm reservation through Open Table. The food was delicious. I had the lobster that was removed from the shell except for the (huge) tail, which was grilled in a garlic ginger lemongrass situation. The flavors spilled out onto the jasmine rice and snow peas underneath. The dish came with four dipping sauces that were simply superb however the way it came off the grill was my favorite flavor. Just amazing. There was a lot more to the food we experienced but you need to go to really appreciate it. Ok so also a big surprise was the live music and all the people (patrons) talking loudly and singing and chair dancing. It was like being at a wedding. But a cool wedding. I guess if I was in a different mood I may not have wanted all the noise but it was a lot of fun. Highly recommend this experience. Next time I want to try the outside bar!

Seafood is fresh and yummy. Try the seafood pasta. You will not regret it. All tables have a great view of the ocean. A must if you are vacationing in the Cape.

Service was wonderful, our server was well informed on the specials as well as able to answer questions on the various dishes (taste, ingredients, etc.). The meal was well paced and we did not feel rushed at all. The view of the Sound at sunset was lovely. Can’t wait to return to the Cape next year, the Ocean House will definitely be on our agenda.

Family dinner on vacation. Ocean House is a lovely spot right on the water and for us right down the street. The service was outstanding and the food was great as well- its the one fancy spot we go for dinner every summer when we are on the Cape.

My husband and I had dinner while on vacation and as every time we dine at Ocean House we can not stop raving about the exquisite food, ambiance, service, etc. The Ocean House is surely the BEST restaurant on the Cape!!!! After dinner we went to the Tiki bar for a drink - what a fun way to end a perfect evening!!!

Still the best restaurant on the Cape. We have been their 3 times with different couples and each time the food and service was superb. Of course, the location and atmosphere were spectacular. The ahi cones are uniquely served and perfect. The cream fresh top was also just right. The crab cake continues to be the best and largest on the Cape. Lightly seasoned with a thin crust cover only with no apparent filler. The special ahi was lightly seared, clear with no cartilage. The wedge was cold, fresh and a half of head. The blue cheese dressing is simply perfect. As good as you will find on the Cape. Hard to get reservations, plan well ahead.

Live on the Cape and have gone to Ocean house about once a year for many years. My wife and I took a couple staying with us for the wife's birthday. My wife and the other woman had lobster ravioli dinner which they really liked with plenty of extra lobster on the plate. My wife and I ordered the calamari to share and it had no tentacles and the smallest cut rings that were breaded with a chicken nugget breading that over whelmed the calamari. Calamari should be a size and tenderness that reflects the food and not destroys it. For an entrée I had Pai Thai Veg Bowl with shrimp(about 4 nice size) but the Thai bowl was just moist(I'd like it soupy) and had loads of peanuts( which I love just as nuts) but not in food and the menu had no mention of it in this day of peanut warnings; but I am not allergic to them. I was not familiar with this dish and maybe that is the way it comes. My friend had the peach kimchee scallops which he thought that the scallops were tough and the kimchee was so-so. The service was excellent and the reservation time was on the spot. Three of the people shared some type of huge chocolate dessert which they loved and on the plate was a scoop of white cream with one candle(which I thought was sub-par for an upscale place).

Been here numerous times and this is a must for us when we are on the Cape. They have made improvements to the front of the house. Much more gracious and welcoming (which was not the case in the past. Hostess was excellent and gentleman who seated us was a marvelous addition to the front. Our server Cathy (or Kathy) was amazing and just elevated the evening. Food is always wonderful. Can't wait to return.

Top 5 meal for us! We enjoyed lobster ravioli, pappardelle pasta, truffle fries, and fresh summer cocktails. Views were wonderful, right on the water. Valet parking available but we parked for free after 5 PM at a public lot that is a short walk from the restaurant. We walked the beach on our way back to the car. Would highly recommend for date night, business dinner, special occasion.

I wanted to love it but I can only rave about the appetizers - bento box, chopped salad and Korean broccoli were great. Come for drinks and snacks and skip the main course. The main courses are lacking flavor and are not worth the price.

This is my 4th time coming to the Ocean House and the 2nd that we drove all the way from Boston just for dinner. The atmosphere is lively, the setting beautiful, the food is delicious and nicely presented and our server Maria was delightful. I will be back again next month! Also - the gentlemen working in Valet are lovely - efficient, thoughtful and reliable.

We have dined at the Ocean House several times over the last few years. It has always lived up to our expectations and its reputation. It shouldn't surprise anyone that it can be pricey particularly for drinks Beer at $9 a glass can run up the bill quickly.

It was our anniversary....We made our reservation well in advance, and requested a front table overlooking
the water....We were advised on arrival there were no tables available, but upon observation there were
tables open....We were placed in the corner of the main room......Our service waitress however saved our
evening......We ordered a plate of oysters....they were wonderful....our main course failed very badly....
The lobster ravioli was terrible.....the lobster was old and tasteless....after all this is Cape Cod....
I ordered the special roasted halibut....also not good .....A large piece of halibut....terribly over cooked..
often a problem with specials but I took a chance....We had read that the kitchen was under a new chef
which I have taken under consideration......Dessert was good....it was ice cream....
Prices in the Ocean House are high.....There is a expectation that the food will reflect in those prices

The OH is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is consistently well prepared and delicious. The cocktails at the bar are excellent and a fun way to wait for your table. The ocean views are incredible and the staff is friendly and efficient. The only possible drawbacks are the booths and its noise level. Neither of which prevent us from returning.

Overall, the Ocean House was wonderful. However, I was seated by the fireplace very close to the bar, which happened to have a live band that night. I enjoyed the music, but it ruined the conversation I was trying to have at my table. Disappointing that a restaurant of this rating does not inform diners that the bar has live music in the evenings. I would have come another night instead.

Our server, James was outstanding! Attentive, but not too much. He was thorough with the menu and not pushy about ordering more alcohol.

The food was fantastic. I ordered the beef and lettuce cups as an appetizer and the roasted cod as my entree. Both were executed beautifully!

I wish I could have enjoyed the ambiance more, but it was a pleasant experience.

We dined at the Ocean House two years ago and everything was outstanding but on this night it seemed like the restaurant has either changed ownership or the kitchen had an off night. My wife's short ribs were average and while my lobster was fresh, the sauces were bland and the rice was just a throw in and not fresh. My shrimp cocktail was ok but the sauce was also off, sweet, no flavor, again, an off kitchen following a recipe but not quite getting it. This is a great location, on the water(we also requested a table by the water and we were four rows back and nothing was mentioned about making an effort here. Bottom line is when you pay top dollar for a meal the restaurant has to deliver and in this case they are just turning tables and not concerned about the quality as they were in the past. This was a "must" dining spot for us on the Cape but we wouldnt go back now

It was a disappointing experience and a letdown from our visit last year. To begin with, I made reservations for 4 requesting a table by the window with a highchair for my 1 year old daughter. However when we got there they gave a table for four by the window to a party of 2! In addition, they do not have highchairs; only booster seats. So I had to go back to the car to get our car seat.
They also don’t have a kids menu (for my 5 year old) so this is not a place to bring your young family. The food was just ok. My wife’s pork chop was undercooked and my filet was slightly overcooked. I’m not sure if we will ever go back!

Made the reservation about a month ahead of time, and it did not disappoint. The Summer Strawberry cocktail was wonderfully fresh. The wine list had reasonable prices. Our $44 bottle of New Zealand Sauvingnon Blanc was crisp. We had four small plates to start. The crab cake was excellent, as were the tuna ice cream cones and the spring rolls. The beef lettuce wraps were the only disappointment. My parents loved the fact that they could order smaller sized entrées. I had the full sized pappardelle with seafood, which was delicious, but I couldn’t finish it. They had the lobster ravioli and linguini with shrimp. Everyone was very pleased. Our waitress was very helpful and friendly.

Recently enjoyed a beautiful meal at the Ocean House in Dennis Port. I would highly recommend and certainly would return here again. The location and views were lovely. We had the crab cake and burrata cheese apps. The were both amazing. Presentations were beautiful. My hubby had the pork chop and I had the lobster ravioli. Both dishes were fantastic. We also enjoyed specialty cocktails and an amazing chocolate lave cake dessert with coconut gelato. The service was impeccable. I can't say enough great things about the Ocean House and can't wait to return!!!

Great time! From the moment we arrived everything was terrific. We had a reservation on a Saturday evening and were seated almost immediately. We asked for a table near the window overlooking the water and had a great view. The service was fantastic. Our waiter (James) came over quickly and was very welcoming, exceptionally professional and knew the menu very well for suggestions. I ordered a bloody mary and was very happy with the drink. It was very tasty and was in a glass much larger than I was expecting at a reasonable price. Great value! We had the oysters which were outstanding. My wife & I shared the pappardelle with plenty of delicious seafood and the encrusted codfish. The only problem was that we were so full we couldn't order what looked like an incredible dessert (we took a picture of the dessert at the table next to us). We'll be back next year when we are on the Cape but with a different strategy. We are going to order appetizers, salad and flatbread pizza so we'll have room for the deserts. Enjoy!
