It was extremely Enjoyable. The food was great. The staff were extremely friendly and engaging.
All in All a very pleasurable experience
Had not been to The Oaksmere since it became the Oaksmere. had been when it was the Cornwallis. Was very pleased with all aspects of our visit. Food excellent, staff excellent, value very good. Would happily return.
We had guests from London with us and we all enjoyed the food and the service was excellent. The cleanliness and cleaning regime in the restaurant was also excellent. However the same could not be said of the state of both the ladies & gents toilets which were in very bad state of cleanliness, obviously they need checking much more often.
Disappointed that balloons I’d taken weren’t out for our arrival as promised. The food was lovely but disappointing that there was a very limited menu to choose from.
Excellent well cooked and presented food. Luckily the weather meant we could sit in the lovely gardens. The service was very good, the staff polite and attentive without being intrusive.
Had to wait a further 45 minutes, put in a roudy bar, had to chase up table after they said 10 minutes it would be ready, table booked at 8 pm say down at 8.50 pm and we were the last table to go, service was slow, steak was chewy waited 15 minutes for dessert menu, they were cleaning tables, never did get to order desserts , shame because the waitress and waiter were lovely surroundings beautiful
Great bar service, polite staff and good beer served
Lovely setting with very good service
Well presented food
Excellent hotel, friendly helpful staff. Clean and lovely atmosphere.
Another great dinner at the oaksmere, this one for my baby's 17th. Great food, beautiful location.
It was a hot, sunny day and we were able to sit outside. Lovely food and good service. A relaxing and very enjoyable lunch.
Excellent food, and was suitable for a business meeting
Nice place, good food and environment, we were early in the evening so perhaps quieter than later, but staff very attentive, good value for money.
Not our best experience. We've always found the Oaksmere to be expensive, relative to the quality of the food, but have been prepared to pay the premium due to the location.
On this occasion, our family went for the Sunday lunch, which was extremely below par. The beef was tough to begin with, along with the roast potatoes being hard and flavourless. To boot we had to share 2 carrots between us and 5 pieces of small stem-broccoli.
We'll go back, because the surroundings are great; however it's always such a shame to have a hit-and-miss with the food here
Excellent food and service, we felt welcomed. Very enjoyable experience would definitely visit again if we’re ever in the area
Oaksmere is now become my local - well done everyone! :)
Great hotel, beautiful grounds, lovely atmosphere and good evening food. However, breakfast not great - only just warm enough, fatty bacon, no Gluten Free (unusual these days), just lacking.
By far the best meal we have out in a long time . Service was amazing and food was absolutely fantastic. Will definitely be back
Excellent venue for having a meal or to meet friends. The service throughout was very attentive and staff were both polite and amiable. The food was of a very high standard and well presented. It is our local ' go to' when we want a nice relaxing eat out experience. We would definitely recommend the Oaksmere to friends and family.
Just love the Oaksmere the setting is wonderful as are the staff. The food and wine are always delicious. Thank you
Beautiful setting, fantastic service, great wine list and delicious food - truly delightful.
Food was very good, especially the seafood platter for 2 people and their steaks are excellent. Lovely setting
Another lovely meal at the oaksmere. I had confit duck with gnocchi and peas, friend had smoked haddock and poached egg. Booked to go again
Not nearly as good as my last visit two weeks ago. I found a long black hair in my risotto. Not as welcoming, some staff were lovely others not so pleasant
Just the right amount of choices, and food cooked to perfection
Fantastic food, fantastic service. Would recommend to everyone.
We felt at home from the second we walked in, everything was perfect and we had a lovely time in a very nice, relaxed and professional environment. The whole team were brilliant throughout.
Lovely venue, the food was delicious and the staff were polite and not intrusive. Very leisurely.
We had a lovely evening the food was wonderful and the atmosphere and decor charming. Thank you
Absolutely fantastic visit to the Oaksmere hotel. I took my Mum for afternoon tea and it was one of the best afternoon teas we’ve ever had. The service was brilliant, both the Waitress and the Manager were so helpful and attentive. Food was great and we got a lot for your money, we couldn’t even eat all of the cakes! :) lovely atmosphere, beautiful grounds, we cant wait to go back!
Beautiful setting, lovely restaurant but menu choice rather limited. Portion size not great. Staff helpful and friendly.
Food was very good - tasty, hot and well presented. Service was good, servers were friendly and courteous - could have been a little quicker. We ate at a table on the terrace overlooking the well tended gardens. Overall, a very enjoyable lunch.
The oaksmere as a place and the grounds is lovely, but thought the food was poor which is a real shame as could be a fabulous place to go.
Good ambience been before but bit disappointed that the beef was hardly warm but very pink a little more heat in it would have been nice and the meal got cold very quick on the plate
A lovely evening in a fantastic setting and everyone was very polite, friendly and helpful, made all the more special by the subtle way the Covid situation was handled. Thank you.
This should be a great place to go to but It is let down badly by the kitchen. I am writing this after more than one poor experience, I wanted to be fair and did not place a review the first time. I now give up and will not return to eat. I ordered the fish which I thought stood a good chance of it being OK, any thoughts I may have hoped for that it would be fresh fish with home made batter were dispelled instantly - it looked fine but inside the fish was watery defrosted mush, very obviously preprepared, frozen and reheated badly. The chip shop in Eye does a much better job. A drink on the terrace is lovely BUT DO NOT EAT THERE
We picked Oaksmere on recommendation of our hotel. Lovely place lovely grounds and nice restaurant. The early part of the service was a bit poor as we had to wait for menus and to order a drink as we sat outside. We moved inside to eat and it did improve. Overall good good my prawn starter was lacking a bit of substance (needed more prawns!) overall a nice experience
Good food and service. Great setting. Well woth a visit.
Enjoyed the food and the professional, friendly service.
Plastic flowers in the skylights lowers the tone of what is a fabulous place to visit.
Very disappointing. Very limited menu three choices for the main. Overpriced for what you get. Service was slow we ordered drinks and they forgot them. We have been for dinner previously and was disappointed with that also.
