   Mason was our waiter in the Oak Room tonight and he was incredible! Walleye entree was delicious as was the burger special. Coffee drinks weren’t hot but remade to our liking. Crème Brûlée not as good as the last visit. The ambiance here is so beautiful it makes up for any shortcomings, we will continue to enjoy this beautiful landmark.

   The food in the service were outstanding! One of my favorite places to go with old friends to celebrate the holiday holidays.

   We have had several wonderful dining experiences at The Granville Inn - wonderful ambience, delicious food and vino, and Kara as our server. Kara really enhances our dining experience as she knows the menu and based on prior visits, will make suggestions for us to try something new/different. SO, when we made the reservations, we specifically requested Kara as our server (as long as it worked for her). Also, upon arrival to The Granville Inn, we reminded the hostess of this request. The hostess seated us at a nice table; and after several minutes, we were approached by a different server. Kara stopped by our table to say HI, and we told her that we had requested her as our server. By, this time, we didn't want to make it uncomfortable for us nor the other server, so Kara apologized, and didn't wait on our table. The hostess said that she hadn't paid attention to our conversation. The other server was OK, BUT, she sort of tried to "push" some things onto us after we had said - No thanks a couple times - we each ordered soup and an entree - she asked a couple times - don't you also want apps? After dinner, she asked if we would like dessert or maybe a glass of Port. We said - thanks, but no. Yet she asked a 2nd time. We will return as we LOVE The Granville Inn, but we will stand our ground to request Kara (as long as she's on the schedule and can take another table.

   Fantastic Food, French Onion soup was a true standout, great cocktail selection. Ambiance was incredible. Slightly pricey, but well worth the experience.

   Our dining experience was not the best. There were three of us and once we got our meals after what seemed like a long wait, two of the meals were just warm but acceptable to eat but the third was cold (fish mashed potatoes, green beans) so that meal was sent back. Once a replacement meal was presented it was acceptable. The server seemed anxious to clear our table. Once each person was done she took away the plates. I live in Granville and was anxious to share an experience at the Inn with relatives that were visiting from Lebanon. Unfortunately, this experience was embarrassing and unacceptable. I do not plan to return.

   Overall we enjoyed our time. We love the old hotel and the ambiance. The food was not up to standard at all my $40 steak and eggs was not very good at all. I ordered it medium rare. Parts of it were medium and parts were medium rare, but it was not at all tender. My wife had a wedge salad with steak, and the salad was nothing more than some lettuce with meat. It was a$100 meal, not going back. Sorry to say because we love the Granville area.

    I took my partner to stay overnight at the Granville Inn and for dinner at the restaurant for his birthday. I made the reservation for the Alcove and we were seated in The Oakroom. While beautiful, the Oakroom was quite noisy as several large parties were seated in the room. I am just realizing our reservation was for the Alcove which is much smaller and quieter. I wish I’d realized this as I would have asked to be moved. As it was, it was quite difficult to have any conversation due to the noise level from other patrons. On the positive side, the food was excellent and the service was top notch. We will be back and will definitely sit in the Alcove next time.
