   Do not order off the menu. They will try to accommodate, but there is a big disconnect in the kitchen. Still worth the time in their special world

   We ate brunch at the Oak, Ojai Valley Inn. The venue was just beautiful, as we had not been there in years. The food was great, service ideal. We will definitely come back!

   What’s not to like about The Oak? My salmon was to die for, my husband adored his filet and our sweet Lab loved her order of bacon! Our server, Jeremy, was the best and he made our experience even that much more special on the lovely outdoor patio.

   Always a pleasant experience sitting on the patio overlooking the golf course. Feels like you are on vacation. We go up just for the day to enjoy the setting.

   Beautiful setting with much to appreciate by way of ambiance and surrounding landscape, however, the food choices were average. Most of the warm dishes were actually cold which is not surprising given that room where the food is presented has a constantly opened door for patrons to enter and exit, thus bringing in a new wave of cooler temperatures. The heat sources that were underneath the trays did not keep the food warm so the breakfast potatoes were decidedly cold and not appetizing. Other selections such as the french toast and scrambled eggs were also cold. This could have been easily prevented if the selections had been housed in trays with covered lids that could be opened and closed. Besides that, my server did not appear with the mimosa that I ordered until half-way through the meal which was another surprising disappointment since the reviews I have read frequently mention the attentiveness of the staff. All in all, a good experience due to the setting, but not a great experience.

   The patio is beautiful! All of our brunch orders were exceptional. Our adult daughter thought her pancakes were the best she had ever eaten.
