The Northside Social
Menu changes seasonally. Upscale Low country themed (shrimp & grits, fried chicken, blackened redfish) But lots of options. Several fish options and potato crusted whitefish is delicious and always on the menu. Terrific cocktails. Small but generous dessert selection. Great service
Thank you so much for visiting us, despite all of the construction in summer! We love that you have some favorites and appreciate the seasonal changes. To keep things interesting, we are having a Bourbon and Bluegrass dinner on July 23rd that will be a blast, so save the date! Come see us again soon. Assistant General Manager Tasha S. Overmyer
northside social new menu is very good. I look foward to my next dinner
Needs a lamb option and one more steak option on the menu.
Also could use a better craft cocktail menu. Kinda weak on the fun drink side of things.
Good food and a great deal on wine with 1/2 bottle prices on Wed. This restaurant is a nice neighborhood hangout. Good bar scene.
Thank you for the nice review! We always love to see our guests having a good time. The Nook and The Social both do 1/2 price wine Wednesdays, so feel free to come back next week for something a little different! The Piggy Smalls goes Great with the Vitiano wine! Great food, outstanding service and extremely helpful staff. Excellent ambiance. We are excited to visit the other restaurants in this family of eateries.
Took the wife there for Mother's Day. The buffet was so so and the price was $33 each. What a ripoff.
We went there for Mother’s Day. I was a little disappointed that there were not as many foods available on the buffet and no carved meats however the food that was served was extraordinary! The service was completely on point.
Thank you so much for the 5 Star review! We greatly appreciate the feedback and are glad you enjoyed your experience overall. Thank you also for braving the construction and Broad Ripple traffic to come and see us. We hope that you come back soon! Assistant General Manager Tasha S. Overmyer
I was looking forward to trying this restaurant as my Mother’s Day gift and because I’d read they changed to a seasonal menu. I think my entire experience was affected greatly by the worst Caesar salad dressing I’ve ever tasted— dressing was house made mayo and that’s all! There were two halves of delicious marinated tiny cherry tomatoes and some shaved parm atop delicious romaine. I just couldn’t get past the globs of gross mayo. So rather than complain I asked for pepper and lemon. I only received pepper and the lemon after my husband was finished with his wedge and he ate most of my salad. She forgot the cornbread but we ate it between the courses and that was fine. Super sweet waitress and she apologized sincerely. She was so nice I did want to complain! I’m not rating her higher because I could have made the salad palatable with pepper and lemon which took so long to get. Wish I could say the meal was great but 1/3 of my ribs had seriously no meat on them. There was no peach flavor to the bbq sauce— not even subtle, so it was extremely bland. I was really looking forward to tasing the bbq. My slaw had twice the amount of that gross mayo maybe three times what’s needed to make slaw—again tasteless and not edible. My potato salad was terrific. I ate all of that and the cornbread. My husband’s fried chicken batter was full of flavor, unfortunately half of it doesn’t even stick to the skin once you pick it up and take one bite. Such a shame since it’s a 5 step process and great flavor. The collard greens were the best I’ve ever tasted. Had a crispiness to it so I think it’s fried rather than braised. Not sure, I’m a foodie not a chef. The bacon flavor mixed with the sweet and sour red cabbage made the collard greens the best flavor of the night.
We are so sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your meal as much as we would hope! Chef Dean takes all menu feedback very seriously & very much to heart. He will be altering the Caesar dressing recipe according to your feedback. We are glad there were some high notes, & that your server was kind, but please never be afraid to say something if things are not to your liking. We are always happy to fix it. Please feel free to give me a call 317-253-0111 as we would love to see you back again!
Terrific food, as usual. Service was superb and Lola was a lovely and attentive server.

Excellent evening with service and food meeting expectations.
My party enjoyed the experience on Saturday. If they are happy, I am happy. I was uncomfortable from the start as there was no parking available at 7:30. Not the fault of the Northside, just happened. That played into the evening's review but overall, would recommend coming again.
The duck was absolutely wonderful
The Northside Social is one of our favorite restaurants. The food & service are always exceptional. Sometimes on weekends it can be noisy. If this bothers you I would suggest going during the week.
Certain items are spectacular. Collard greens ...buffalo cauliflower. Yum.
Ribeye had good flavor but like leather. Some day I’ll learn NEVER order a steak unless I’m at a steak house. Ribeye C-
Beautiful atmosphere, pleasant and peaceful. Cuisine is excellent, service was unmatched - friendly, pleasant and delightful.
Northside Social is truly a gem in the middle of Indy. A new go-to spot for me.
Went for Easter Brunch. Food was more on the breakfast side. Food was average. Waiter very attentive even though a buffet. Thought a bit overpriced for quality & variety of food available.
$33 per person for Easter buffet of Super8-like scrambled eggs and French toast! You had no premium or exceptional food in any part of the buffet (even the selection was minimal). I understand the premium price for Easter Day, but the food for price was downright embarrassing. Your reviews for food on a normal day did not match your Easter Day performance in any way. And I strongly urge you to improve that next Easter as food should be excellent at a restaurant like yours.... not worse that I would make at home. Our server was awesome tho.
Went for Easter brunch which was no better food-wise than the buffet at a Holiday Inn Express with the added difficulty that there really was no room for the buffet line so everybody was on top of each other. Unfortunate because otherwise NS food and service is great. The people I took won’t ever know that though because the experience was so bad they don’t want to go back
I absolutely love going back to Northside Social for their brunch year after year. This is our 4th year going and hopefully we’ll be back for our 5th year next year. I will keep coming back as long as they are serving those Asiago potatoes and french toast. My only recommendation is to have jellies near the biscuit station. Although our server was kind enough to bring me some. The service is terrific and there’s never a long wait in the buffet line. The food is always hot and fresh! And it’s so comfortable inside.
Our second visit was not up to par with our first. I am in LOVE with their pickle-brined fried chicken which is about the best I've ever had though this time the breast was completely dried out and not very good. I'm a bit exhausted with restaurants that try to hit their food cost by charging ridiculous amounts for appetizers and desserts.... the buffalo cauliflower is very creative and tasty, but clocks in at about 15%, not as bad as a prime steakhouse but the margins on prime protiens are a lot tougher to manage. Our server was polite, friendly and knowledgable but service was very slow which was disappointing as the restaurant was never full in the 90 minutes we were there Saturday night. We will return to gauge if this was just an off night.
Always a great experience- food- service- ambiance. One of our favorite restaurants in Indianapolis
Bartender is an excellent mixologist
This has become one of our favorite restaurants and prior to this visit we have only ordered "mains". We were not eager to eat a lot so for the first time we ordered "starters" My wife had crab and gnocchi and I selected shrimp and grits. The crab was hard to identify,in asking the server he said there was some strands of crab (not much) The gnocchis were foreign to us because they were tiny objectd. The shrimp with grits was very overcooked.
The most surprising event was the red wine was very warm and to my dismay I was told they do not store it in a temperature control container. it sits in a room at customer comfort temps. This is the only restaurant we visit that serves red wine this way.It is unbelievable that a quality restaurant ignores good storage methods
Back to the wonderful "mains" and hope they improve wine storage
Music loud but they lowered the volume when requested. Everything out is excellent.
We always enjoy the ambiance of Northside, you know you're out in a cool place, but not so fancy you feel too foofoo :-) Both of our men really enjoyed the whitefish dish, they had it the last time too! The sauce is perfection. My best friend had the short ribs and it was delish, everyone had a bite. I had the fried chicken and it was cooked perfect and so juicy and flavorful. And the pimento mac & cheese...please! Yum Yum! Our cocktails were very good and refreshing. We'll be back again soon. Thanks for another wonderful evening of good food and fun!
We had dinner at this restaurant on this past Friday. For an appetizer, we had breaded calamari that delicious, and for an entree a pasta dinner special w/peas and shrimp. Of the best pasta dishes I've ever had anywhere. With a $44 bottle of wine, we spent about $126 before tip for two people. So while definitely not inexpensive, this is one of our favorite places to dine here in Indy. Service was also exemplary.
Food was excellent, service was inattentive and slow.
I have been a fan of Northside Social for several years, but this was not a good experience. The whitefish tasted old, the green beans were not tasty and the Caesar salad was below par. Each of the four of us were disappointed in our meals as we all have had a great experience previously. I mentioned our disappointment to our server, but not much response.
We enjoyed the evening and would recommend the Northside Social to anyone who was looking for a great place to dine and enjoy the evening.
Great tasting food and creative ways of cooking and presenting classic dishes!
The food is exceptional as it has been at sister concepts Delicia and Nook. Our server made excellent recommendations and was attentive until the restaurant was full and we had to wait a bit to process the check. The drinks are quite good but my wife’s mule had a hefty up charge without her specifying liquor... $17 is a bit steep.
Food was terrific, highly suggest the ribeye! Crystal took great care of us. Can’t wait to go back!
Not a great food night for these guys. Usually they have good food, but tonight it was bad. Fish dishes were off, pork shank was undercooked .....3 bad entrees tonight.
This is a hidden secrete of the Northside of Indianapolis. Exceptional menu with a flare for the new. The new dishes are the best and mgt seeks your opinion as to taste presentation and improvement. My favorite restaurant in Indianapolis
Great service and food. Tables are close together so there is little privacy.
Second time in two months and both times we had a great meal. Well done Northside Social and the Chef who is really terrific.
It Was our first time to visit and we really enjoyed. It had a very nice setting in ambience and the food was very good our waiter stated that they change the menu about every six months.
Wonderful food. I had the pork shank cassoulet which was outrageous. Great taste and a huge portion. Meat was so tender. Beans were cooked perfectly. I am not a big fan of Brussels sprouts but these were grilled and tasty. The potato dauphin was okay- basically fried mashed potato balls. Others had the brisket which sounded as good as the shank. Two in the party had duck and while chewier than expected said it was good. The cold okra chow chow was cold as they had not expected a cold component. Service was excellent. We had a really noisy part beside us which really impacted our time as they were loud and we had to shout at times to hear each other. Bread pudding could feed 2 to 3 and was good. Trifle was great. The chocolate pudding was rich and could feed 2 people. Will be returning but looking for a quieter area.
Had a great meal. We cleaned our plates. Plus it was half price wine night!
Northside is consistently good and a comfortable upscale place to visit for a nice dinner or even just for cocktails but we have noticed that their prices have gone up about 20% over the past 12 months or so. Northside was never "value priced" but with these recent price increases it may be pricing itself out of their regular clientele. It was noticably less crowded than usual this past week when we went to celebrate a special family occasion.
I had not been for quite some time. I was a bit disappointed to see the menu had changed. Some of our favorites no longer offered. The food was good. Not quite the flare it once was. Our server was Great! I will go back to try some other new dishes.
