The Northside Social Ratings and Reviews
EXCELLENT ENTREES. PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY PIE WAS EXTRAORDINARY! OUR SERVER (ANNA?) WAS VERY INFORMATIVE AND ATTENTIVE. WINE CHOICE (IMAGERY PINO NOIR) WAS A GEM AND REASONABLY PRICED. WE HAVE BEEN TO NORTH SIDE SOCIAL MANY TIMES AND WILL RETURN MANY TIMES AGAIN.
Generally we enjoy this restaurant however this time not so much! We had a reservation but were jammed into a tiny corner table when the whole place was practically empty!
The food was not good. Had to send my salad back and my scallops were so chewy and gritty it was like chewing sand! It will be a while before we return and we were fairly regular diners
The food is always good and our service is very attentive. I am astonished at the complete ripoff they charge for San Pelegríno. My two friends and I had two small bottles each. 24 dollars. Haa haa I tipped well, closed to 20%, and really enjoyed the food, but northside social just got crossed off the business Christmas dinner list and any future dining. Congrats folks , your greed just got you 4 less customers.. A six pack of small bottles for 24 dollars. Sheesh
4 of 6 of our party arrived on time, the front guy indicated we should sit in the bar and wait for the other two. One of the four was a 17 year old and I asked if he was sure we should go to the bar - he said "Just go to the bar". So we did and sat in the high chairs away from the bar, which had a sign on the table that had "Family Friendly" on it, so I assumed this was an ok area for a 17 year old. After waiting about 5 minutes, the bar guy came by and handed out menus and then asked the 17 year old for her ID. I indicated that she is underage and we were told to sit there. He essentially shouted at me 'get out of this area'. I tried to explain again what the circumstance was that led us there and he just walked off. We went back to the front desk, my guests very embarrassed, and asked the lady to seat us. She then huffed and puffed and said she had to speak to the manager before she seated us. I indicated that the other two in the party were walking up to the door, so we were all there, she ignored me and had a sidebar conversation with the manager. After some time, she returned and seated us, somewhat belligerently. At this point, I was ready to walk out and asked my wife if we should stay. The waiter came , and his warm approach and demeanor convinced me to stay and we proceeded to have a good meal. Andrew (the waiter) was a real pleasure and a credit to the organization. The rest of the staff were a disaster, and I don't plan ever going there again.
