We are never disappointed with this extraordinary restaurant. The food is always delicious and creatively prepared. It is always worth a visit.
We all 4 enjoyed our meal at North Fork Table very much. The food was wonderful! The Foie Gras with tuna was delicious! The lamb was fabulous as was the duck! The cod was nice but more salty than I thought it would or should be. Don’t leave without having dessert. The carrot cake was delicious! Service was excellent as well.
Went there for a great meal and were not disappointed. Excellent meals and presentation, worth a trip back.
Pricey but very special place. Creative cuisine made with the finest local ingredients. Lovely servers and a beautiful room that’s quiet and serene. If you’re looking for a special North Fork experience, this is the place. The duck was superb!
Always wonderful. Great food, good service, lovely ambiance. Not a 5 Star because it is so expensive and most can not afford to eat here.
Wow. Just wow.
So, NFT&I has made some subtle changes to the entire experience and they nailed them all.
Bar and Dining room renovations refine the sophisticated ambience - bar area is now a little more warm and cozy, while the drinks and bartenders continue to perfectly compliment the restaurant.
Chef Stephan Bogardus apparently spent some time this winter at the French Laundry and traveling the world and was inspired to make a few changes to the menu while not disturbing his classic dishes. Razor clams with coconut and blood orange with cardamom sounded like an odd combination but were ridiculous (reminded me of dishes at the old Wylie Dufresne joint wd~50 on the LES). Old favorite ricotta cavatelli has been taken to another level with the addition of duck confit. Kitchen simply crushed it.
Mike Mraz at the front of house continues to be the perfect host while the amazing Emma in the dining room made our evening perfect - refusing to let us leave before tasting Claudia’s incredible rhubarb Napoleon.
We usually have our birthday dinners at North Fork Table. The service is excellent and they meet our every need. The food is divine - our only request - more vegetables with the entree. Dessert is spectacular! We live on the South Fork - so it is a very special treat to take the ferries over, drive to Southold and sit down to the best meal on the East End.
The North Fork Table never disappoints. Help is gracious, ambience is wonderful and the food is always delicious and carefully prepared.
Great food , beautiful atmosphere, sincere staff. The only issue I had was cheese plate appetizer. 4 of us went for brunch and bill was over $450 - which I expected. I have been there several times before. The issue I had was we ordered a cheese platter to share before meal came. We needed surgical instruments to cut it up as it was so small. The restaurant knew we were plunking down a small investment for this meal and could have not been so stingy with the appetizer. I think they tried to make it up later by offering an extra dessert? I didn’t want that (didn’t eat any dessert as I don’t eat sugar and they accommodated me with fresh blood orange cut up beautifully). I will return as it’s a family favorite and we go about twice a year but the cheese platter was a disappointment.
Although our waiter wasn’t the best we’ve had the food was amazing as usual. Not a thing I would change about the food and wine!
A total fining dining gem. My husband & I eat out quite a bit & sometimes all menus seem the same. Chef Stephan uses seasonal ingredients & creates special dishes that are delightfully surprising and delicious. Very special place. And Pastry Chef Claudia Fleming - her renowned desserts - delicate flavors that causes one to swoon with joy.
With one exception, North Fork Table was up to it's usual excellent standards. My grass fed strip steak was excellent and about as good as any grass fed beef I've ever eaten. The fish stew, however, was nowhere that standard as it had a strong unpleasant odor and the quality of the seafood was mediocre and the quantity lacking. Otherwise, we'll be returning.
This was our first time at this lovely Inn and restaurant. From the moment we walked in, we knew this was going to be a memorable dining experience.
Decor/atmosphere is wonderful. The 4 of us all enjoyed our brunch selections. There was a wait (despite numerous empty tables). We had made a reservation. Although the wait was inexplicable, it was only about 10 minutes. Waitstaff was nice and professional.
Absolutely Amanda and service and spectacular food
North Fork Table is my favorite on the island! Such fresh, deep flavored foods , great drinks, beautiful rooms and personal service.
Tasting menu with wine pairings was a delight for Sunday lunch. And a bargain for the outstanding quality.
WOW. This was a truly special meal at a wonderful place. The food was delicious, inventive, and thoughtfully prepared. Probably the best service I've had in a long while. The staff is trained by Gramercy Tavern standards and it shows. Waitstaff was extremely knowledgable about the food, the wine, the chef, the restaurant's history...I could go on. If you have a chance to experience this gem, GO! You will not be disappointed.
Hospitable, warm setting with an excellent and friendly staff. The food and wine/cocktails are always exceptional.
We had a fantastic lunch at North Fork Table and Inn last weekend. Our waitress gave us great suggestions. Definitely worth the cost, and it is pricey (our lunch without alcohol was $80).
Service and food were wonderful
We arrived at 5PM. Our reservation was for 7PM but we were staying overnight at the rooms
above the restaurant. We were met at the front reception and immediately taken care of.
The staff were attentive during our dinner and our overnight stay. Everything was thought out very well related to the water bottles and glasses in the room. Various soaps and towels.
Clean room and even some of their famous chocolate chip cookies. The dinner experience was as we expected from past visits. Attentive service and very good cuisine. We brought our own bottle of Caymus and we did pay a corkage fee of $ 35.00 It is worth a visit. The next morning there was a continental breakfast on the main floor which was very nice as well.
North Fork Table & Inn is the best Sunday brunch spot in the area. The food is delicious and the service is attentive and professional. Note: The restaurant opens at 11:30 and will not accommodate early arrivals, even at the bar.
We love going to North Fork ; always a special special treat! That said the duck was a tad bit salty. The servers kept bringing shared items without serving pieces ....when you are the best the standards are so much higher than other places ! When I asked for the sommelier I was told by the waiter “we are all trained on wine”-who say no to a patron at a place like NFT?
The pre fixe menu was pricey and a little confusing. We ordered two of the $75 pre fixes (the cheaper option) because we felt like we had to. One of the choices was fois gras with raw tuna so I opted for that as an appetizer. Once the bill came, they charged an extra $15 for it. The bill was over the top expensive as it was. So while the pre fixe menu was there, they don’t specify what’s actually included. The food was delicious and the dessert was actually the best part. Ice cream sandwich was out of this world.
Stopped here for lunch and found that dinner is not the only meal they're great at.
A simply AMAZING experience!!! The North Fork Table and Inn does not disappoint. From the superb food to the excellent service, coming to the North Fork Table and Inn is an experience not to forget. Our meal was superb and I love the fact that the pacing is nice and slow to allow one to digest and enjoy each of the courses without being rushed. If you are in a hurry and want a "quick meal", then the North Fork Table and Inn is not for you, but if you are looking for a meal of ABOVE 5-star quality all around, then this is the place to be.
At other places, one of my biggest pet peeve's is when a server or runner comes to the table and asks, "who ordered the ________?". How difficult is it to remember who ordered what food items? This is NOT the case at the North Fork Table and Inn.... here is a place where EVERYONE knows who ordered what. Every single runner who brought over our meal items knew exactly who ordered it. It helps to make a meal special.
Portion sizes were perfect. Not too much (like many places do) and not too little. And taste? Simply amazing!!!! My financee and I are still talking about the meal we had this past Saturday and how we are going to return very soon and tell all our friends/acquaintances.
So... if you're looking for a restaurant to be what a restaurant should be in every way, shape, and form..... get over to the North Fork Table and Inn and you will not be disappointed!!!
My girlfriend and I chose to go here for our anniversary dinner. The restaurant made note of that, and started us off with a glass of champagne. There is an option for a 6 course tasting, which we opted for with the wine pairing. The wine pairing was just an extra $35. The 6 course tasting was worth the $125. Each course was wonderful and quite unique.
Fabulous food and service. My favorite restaurant on LI.
My husband and I went to the North Fork Table for Valentine's Day, since we couldn't go out on the actual day. The food was delicious. The service was excellent.
My partner and I went to the North Fork Table and Inn for a birthday/Valentines Day dinner and we were not disappointed. The food was absolutely excellent. I had the tuna tarter in ponzu sauce, and the sea scallops (which was more like a bouillabaisse) and my partner had the scallop appetizer and the duck. Everything was delicious and prepared with care and thought. They even brought out a cookie with a candle in it for my partner's birthday. The service is good, but not quite a professional as it could be (our waiter never asked if we wanted drinks before taking our order and the receptionist made us wait for about five minutes while he was on the phone with a potential customer) before seating us. But, that was pretty minor compared with the great meal, wine (I chose local and my partner had the flight), and fabulous desserts. I recommend the coffee-toffee ice cream sandwich, which I will be dreaming about for days to come. The food is pricey but worth it.
Always love eating at the NF Table. Delicious food and pleasant environment.
We have only been there 2 times and each time it was a great experience. The food and atmosphere is great and so is the service. Well trained staff.
The North Fork table Inn is one of the finest dining experiences we have had on the North Fork. The service is spot on and the food is always delicious and done to perfection.
Always reliably great!
great food, great service, beautiful building... very North Fork. Simple elegance... can't wait to go back!!
A fantastic Saturday lunch. Had not realized it was restaurant week but the LIRW menu did not disappoint. Loved the whole beet appetizer & the scallops with a hint of Indian spice in the sauce were something special. I always have the coconut tapioca dessert as it’s so refreshing. New additions to the wine list paired really well with these dishes. Service is very attentive. Recommended for all occasions.
This was my 4th time at North Fork Table & Inn...and definitely still not my last. I always try to go when Restaurant Week is happening, since the menu is more pricey. But, totally worth it. Everything was cooked to perfection! The flavors in every dish keep your taste buds guessing. My boyfriend and I were seated in the back left side section (which we both had never been in before). It was super cozy and intimate, even though the tables seemed closer together when we walked in. The service was amazing as always. Very friendly and accommodating. Needless to say, I can't wait until the next Restaurant Week!
Friday night of restaurant week. Waited 15 minutes for our waitress who never came back after a brief intro. Eventually, the manager took our order. Small portions . . . . . did I say small portions. Expensive, even for what we got in the $28.95 restaurant week special. Pork block appetizer was reminiscent of cold spam. Sea scallop entree was uneventful and consisted of three small scallops amid about 15 chickpeas on three mixed greens. This entree was small as was my wife's risotto even if they were presented as an appetizer . Apple tart dessert had a rock hard base almost impossible to cut even with a knife. Totally, totally underwhelming experience. Had a bowl of cereal when we came home. Did I say small portions??? Don't waste your money, even during restaurant week. Sadly, this place HAD been a very special dining experience for us but something has changed and changed drastically. Honestly, I was prepared to make a statement and blatantly confront our server with the "ripoff" size portions we received for our meal but it was just not worth the effort. We have been to a number of other eateries during "restaurant week" and they don't cut back on portions and quality during this budget period: to the contrary, they seem to use the "restaurant week" as a time to showcase their talents so the patrons will tell their friends and come back for a return meal. The North Fork Table seemed to be troubled with having to deal with "restaurant week" and it was glaringly obvious that they didn't want to be bothered. SO WHY did they participate? We will not be back to this restaurant for any amount of money. For a truly great north fork dining thrill, go three doors down to Caci. You will pay the same inflated prices but you will get true value and memory for your money. The North Fork Table has lost its flair for the spectacular. Its history is just that at this point, history. Did I say small portions???
Awesome from start to finish. Serving staff so professional & friendly!
A true bargain during Restaurant Week!
