The North End Barbeque and Moonshine
It had been awhile since visiting. Great service, our food choices were great. BBQ salmon and the special, which were pork bellies. Great drinks from the bar!
Once again, a lovely dinner at North End. Bar seating works best for us when the outdoor area isn’t available. My go-to meal is the chopped salad with brisket added on....and a side of the best collards I’ve ever had. Noise in the bar is somewhat high, but doesn’t detract from an enjoyable night. Great cocktails.
Food was delicious and came out fast! As a team the service was great! Our server was scarce and never introduced herself.
Brisket has been dry the last couple of times and today was no different. Out of the first 3 bourbons that I asked for. Drinks took a longer time than expect to arrive once ordered.
Dinner was good. We really enjoyed all the food that we ordered. The drinks are a tad over priced however they were very good. Guess you can say you get what you pay for.
Overall we were happy with the North End BBQ.
I love North Side BBQ. I go there probably 4-6x/year, and typically sit either at or in the bar. Last week, I sat in the dining room and drew the short straw with a table against the far west wall. Don't get me wrong, I still love NSBBQ, I just don't love that table. The service was outstanding! Harry recommended a new whiskey, so of course I obliged. It was delicious, as expected. The food was really good (I don't love the green beans/zucchini mix). I met my cousin and her husband there for their rookie visit. They loved it to and will be back. P.S. Best whiskey list in Indy. No joke.
One of my regular haunts when I don’t feel like cooking. I prefer to sit in the bar area and the service is always impeccable. The bartenders are also very knowledgeable and their bourbon selection is top notch.
Food was really greasy. Even the Barbeque and fries. Just too fatty and the ribs were not “fall off the bone”. Service was great, but I will not return for the food
Disclaimer: I lived in Austin for 12 years and my husband makes excellent ribs and brisket.
Negatives: The rib meat and brisket were not good, the rib meat and lean brisket were dry/tough and the chopped brisket was 80-90% fat. The portobello and onions on my sandwich were overcooked, but flavor was okay.
Positives: one of the kids had a burger and mac and cheese that they loved. Also, the bun for my portobello sandwich was excellent. My son and husband said the little side salads were fresh with tasty dressing and my youngest son’s side of veggies were also well prepared. The fries were also good, but heavy so we shared one serving amongst all five of us. Nice atmosphere and good service.
This was our first visit, I ordered the smoked portabella. It was so,so. Honestly the mushrooms were small 😂 & over cooked a little. The bun dwarfed the mushrooms. I just took the bun off. The greens were very tasty.!! My husband had the burger which was good. The FF were on the chewy side. We will try again & get some BBQ for sure.!! The server was very attentive and friend!!
Went here for Valentine’s Day and had a great experience.
The food was really good. Service was good as well. Tables are alittle close.
Bourbon selection is really good but prices are higher than secondary market.
Get the pricing inline and you would sell more
Ellen was our waitress. She rocks! She had many, many tables and she was on top of them all. She anticipated customers’ needs, offered suggestions, answers questions and made sure each guest was having a great experience.
We ordered the sampler for 2, it came with sausage, chicken, pulled pork, ribs, and brisket. The sausage and ribs were a little dry but everything else was moist and delicious. They also have an excellent bourbon selection.
Had a great time with family and friends, and had delicious food and drinks!
Best place in Central Indiana for BBQ. Huge portions for not a lot of $. The truffle french fries are to die for!!!
This was our first experience at North End and we really enjoyed it! The food was delicious and they have a great bourbon selection. The service was a little slow but we still had a great time.
We went for the Devour special, which was a barbecue feast for two with ribs, brisket, sausage, pulled pork, and BBQ chicken. It also came with two sides (we picked cornbread and mac and cheese) and apple cobbler. The meat was delicious. There was more than we could eat. The cornbread and mac and cheese were fantastic, especially the mac and cheese. The BBQ sauces were good. The apple cobbler was not good.
We were seated against a giant window (the whole wall is window) next to the parking lot. The cars park facing that window. Someone turned on their car and sat there in the spot for 10 minutes with their headlights shining directly at us.
Our waitress was very inattentive. It was not busy at all. She came right over and took our drink and food orders, and our food came quickly. Five minutes after the BBQ was dropped off, someone from the kitchen came and dropped off our dessert. Which was apple cobbler with a scoop ice cream. Why would someone bring dessert five minutes after the main course came? We had barely started eating our food. So then the ice cream sat and melted. We wanted to say something to our waitress, but she never came back to our table. We finished our BBQ. Our drink glasses were completely empty. We decided to go ahead and eat the melted cobbler so we could get out of there. The cobbler honestly wouldn't have been good even without melted ice cream. The apple slices had tough skins on them, and there were barely any oats. After we gave up on dessert, we sat there for several more minutes with empty plates and empty glasses pushed aside, waiting for someone to notice us. Our waitress eventually wandered over and asked if we were ready for our check. We said yes. She handed us the slip of paper and walked away. Did not take our dishes or notice our empty water glasses. Did not offer us more water. Did not ask how everything was.
Wonderful BBQ and the best Old Fashioned in the city! Bri did an exceptional job as our server!!
Devour event menu, meat platter was enough for three people and was very good. Service was spot on as were the cocktails. Highly recommend.
We visited North End BBQ for their Devour Indy menu. They did not disappoint with the selection. The food was very good and our server, Kelly, was very attentive without being overly intrusive. We plan to visit again.
It was not bad but not great either. Enjoyable and neutral.
Ist time here. Ordered the devour special. Nearly 75% of the meats served were arranged in piles on a paper lined metal quarter-sheet. With nearly every bite---I got a blob of fat vs meat--gross! , ---except maybe for most of the brisket and the "basic cooked no flavor chicken leg/thigh"--. The 4 sauces are room temperature and arrive in a carrying tray at the table. They are in plastic bottles(think catsup, mustard containers with tips cut off/back). Best things were the red wine vinaigrette salad dressing, the draft" lazer-snake (sp?)beer",( note < 1 cups serving) medley of vegetables, and (,<1 cup serving) of the mac-n-cheese. TBH, couldn't wait to leave....
We were seated promptly. We had questions and were unsure of what to order for drinks, the menu is huge and the server was not very patient / happy with our ordering speed. We did not feel very welcome.
In observing the room it looked like she was serving most of the restaurants tables but we did not know that when we arrived. The food and specialty drinks were wonderful.
Son’s 21st bday
Very tasty BBQ
TNE BBQ never disappoints. We had girls night there and the food was absolutely delicious and the service was top notch. Highly recommend!
North End is reliably good -- the food is well prepared, the service friendly and efficient and the menu and portions quite fine. A perfect spot for lunch or casual dinner.
Great food and service. Too loud for my taste but thaw food can overcome that most of the time.
We love North End Barbeque and Moonshine! Great place for tasty food, good service, and inviting atmosphere. We love Harry and the team at the bar. Nirvana for whiskey/bourbon geeks plus some great cocktails for everyone else!
Don’t miss the adult bourbon milkshake- a unique treat.
The BBQ burger was great and the fries might be the best in Indy. If you’re looking for a place with a great selection of Whiskey, North End is definitely in my top 5 in Indy. They offer whiskey flights. Service was great for our group of 9.
All the food was very good. I couldn’t really find a good bourbon drink that was a little sweet. Our waiter said Campari wasn’t bitter, but the drink with that was definitely more bitter than sweet. I think my wife liked her mule. Anyways, all our food arrived very quick, but we had to ask where were our cocktails. The waiter who took our order kind of disappeared. Food was delivered by someone else and than he ran around trying to get our drinks and some bbq sauce which wasn’t delivered when the food was. It came after the ribs and brisket and after the cocktails. He was young, but nice. The other waiter looked like he maybe had too many tables or something. There was a 10 or something-top in the room that might have been too much.
Excellent as always—
The bartender's are willing to make individual specific drinks, but it takes a little longer. Food is marvelous. Try the Salmon dip.
Great food and great service!
Extremely poor service.
Food was good but not outstanding. Nice decor.
Good place for a nice, casual meal but not necessarily a special occasion. Good cocktails too.
