What Insiders Are Saying
Is the Nomad still a big deal? It depends on how you do it.
I was very disappointed with the roasted chicken it wasn't bad but it wasn't outstanding as I expected
Well best chicken nyc. Got a great corner table. Great ambiance. Great everything.
We had brunch. Best enjoyable eggs and salmon Benedict. Courteous service and not intrusive. Always a pleasure to be there.
Beautiful restaurant with unique menu. Not a ton of variety but we loved what we ate.
Food overpriced small portions and very noisy
The food was excellent but the service was mediocre at best. None of the people who approached our table engaged with us and our main server never took the time to explain the menu or check back with us
I enjoyed the experience, Ross is wonderful . Will certainly go back
Great ambience and our server Frank was super accommodating. Look forward to a return visit
Excellent environment and location. There was no tasting menu, so we ordered their signature plate of chicken....a little boring.
The food was excellent
Service was impeccable. Started at the bar for a drink. The bartenders were very knowledgeable and clearly passionate about their craft. The Bar and Dining room were beautiful and the food delicious. Highly recommend.
OUTSTANDING! Service was best I've ever encountered, the food was by far one of the best meal I've had!
Disappointed with the seating given which was in the major passage way for all patrons and staff for the bar area. This was disruptive to our experience. Food good but was better on my previous visit in 2017.
I was thoroughly impressed with the food preparations and service. Everyone displays professionalism.
Good food, tiny portions, wine glasses brought to the table too late. ok restaurant but nothing outstanding.
While I found the food good, I did not find it very good or inspiring. I had the black bass which was soggy, and the crust, which I like crisp, was a bit slimy. But what I found very unpleasant was the service. In a good restaurant, one expects good service. Our waiter disappeared for long stretches at a time, leaving us with dirty plates for quite a long time. After dessert, we were made to wait for a long time, perhaps even 30 minutes, with no waiter in sight. We finally flagged down the waiter and my husband very diplomatically suggested that we would like the check but the waiter didn't take the prompt to get the check. I do think the waiter is experienced so this was very puzzling. The atmosphere is very nice, but is noisy. I won't be returning.
The only thing I refuse to miss every NYC trip. And they just blow me away every time. I’ve brought new friends here and it’s always a treat for me as much as them. The service is incredible. I know the waitstaff is probably exhausted doing the same thing nightly and dealing with fanboys like me, but they sure don’t show it. They’re just perfect.
Everything here - is perfect.
Still the best brunch service you can get in NYC!!! From start to end. Grace was graceful and professional, to Bridget who is always the greatest Manager for The NoMad!
Nice hotel and overall ambience. Received text reminding me of my reservation in 30 minutes We showed up just then and were rudely greeted by the host with a "Hi were not seating yet besides your reservations isn't for 30 minutes go to the bar area and we'll find you there when you table is ready. Dining room was empty. 45 minutes later and no one "found us" at the bar. Then gave us attitude like we were late...oh we were holding that, good thing....The menu was ridiculous. I felt like it was the 90's, limited menu (no beef), large plates and small bits of food and way over priced. They were trying to be chic way too hard. The lobster was inedible, loose and slimy. The duck tasted like pork. Limited liquor selection (best vodka was Absolute and we don't "do flavored vodka at all!" My what high standards???! We skipped dessert and wont be back. We tipped well only because the service was professional and caring. Too bad the rest of the experience wasn't the same.
We have eaten at NoMad in NY which was exceptional. NoMad LA was also a great experience with a more obscure selection of food. Cocktails were handcrafted, with a lot of TLC and fantastic. The decor, ambience and vibe were cool with a unique retro throwback. Unfortunately, our specific waiter was preoccupied and distracted. With that said, the other wait staff and maitre d’hotel greatly picked up the slack. Certainly worth a trip and I would come back!
Absolutely wonderful to take a client out for dinner. The Parlor room was great and the service was top notch.
The roasted chicken is defiantly recommended it was phenomenal!
I will be back
Over priced for salty food. Over hyped. Extremely slow service. There are many personal and employees working on the floor that at times it seems they out number the guests sitting behind tables but even despite all these staff that their duty is unclear th service is extremely slow. The good is nothing to talk about or remember. Just hyped.
Food was very so so. Service was great. Like the wine selections
Interesting food with good flavor
Expensive compared with similar restaurants
Electronic acid rock guitar a bit much for dinner music but otherwise great experience. Food excellent
Was a great experience, amazing bar and fantastic food! A place to come and come. A must go if you are in NYC
Our waiter for the evening was such a sweetheart and an absolute expert at recommendations. We went ahead with the eclipse cocktail based his suggestion and enjoyed it so much had 5 of them! And the food was amazing!
Definitely coming back!
The NoMad never disappoints.
Every time we dine at The Nomad, it is a wonderful evening. Imaginative cocktail list, solid wine list, excellent food and very welcoming and helpful staff.
refined atmosphere, cosy ambience, good and tasty and originally coocked food
Chef Jae Jung is the best.
Excellent and knowledgeable bartenders. Sommelier made a great recommendation for wine pairing with the artichoke salad. But the real star was the chicken three ways. So delicious.
I would like to have been able to give this a higher rating, as the food is superb. But the service has spotty weird glitches. We had to request cutlery for our first course, then after that was brought, we waited 5 minutes for salt and pepper. We waited again, after asking 2 different servers for a sharp knife for a duck breast entree. We expect more attentive service at an upscale restaurant like this. We get better service at a diner.
The menu doesn't change much since the restaurant opened, which I don;t have any problem, but execution wasn't as good as before. Also, one dessert menu that was a reason I've been back to the restaurant was gone: milk &honey. I don't think I'm a minority voice here. I saw the picture of the dessert everywhere where the restaurant was praised. Why did they remove it from the menu? Next time I make a reservation, I make sure Milk & Honey is back on the menu. Otherwise, the savory dishes on the menu were not flavorful enough--presentation was very good-- to make me go back.
Relaxed and upscale. Nice menu options. Expensive (if that's a consideration) but great if you have the money or special occasions.
Traveling to NY, we made our reservation for 4 on open table for 10:30pm on Saturday night.
No problem. When we arrived at 10:45pm the restaurant was closed. The party was still on in the large bar area, but we were planning dinner for 4. We ate in the bar - what you might expect - hook up central and loud music was the theme. nothing special food wise.
As the city that never sleeps, it seems to me Open Table should have let us know that the kitchen closes at 11pm . Or at least reference to check with the restaurant directly to confirm due to late reservation.
Amazing grilled chicken!! It’s a must .
Immaculate service ,very professional and attentive.
Uniq food with great ingredients.
Only the music is very bothering ,too loud and too dominant.
