Is the Nomad still a big deal? It depends on how you do it.
Menu has good selection of meat-free options, which my dinner companion and I enjoyed. Because this is currently a popular place, they do try to turn the tables promptly, so just be aware.
Serving an excellent Turkish wine which we were able taste in New York
When we arrived, we were directed to a table that was less than optimal - it was in the back, it was dark, it had a curtain almost swishing into it and it was one of the only tables for 2 that was right next to a table for 4. I requested another table (this was a birthday celebration after all! ) and was told most of the other tables were already reserved. Luckily, there was another table that was available and so we were seated at a better table (We saw 2 other parties who were directed to our original table also ask for a different table)
but after this, and after being seated at a nicer table, we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The food, chicken, was amazing. Also our waiter, Tyler, was outstanding!
Would highly recommend The NoMad.
Outstanding in every way. Possibly the best brunch I’ve ever had. Will be back, and will consider staying at Nomad Hotel for my next visit to NYC, just based on the impeccable service in the restaurant and bar.
Really loud instead of intimate and crowded, I dont mind spending but you have to wow me and they didnt. Service is phenomenal and really helpful but food was uninspired.
AMAZING. Brunch on a Saturday. Drinks were incredible. Alfred our server was so knowledgeable. We split the fries and chicken sandwich which we literally incredible. We will be back next weekend. We go out EVERYWHERE in the city, this was top 10
We got there a little early and had drinks in the library. A nice place to sit. Service could not have been better. Everyone was attentative but not overbearing. Food was quite flavorful. I am not a vegetarian but I had the cauliflower dish and could not have been more satisfied. The area we sat in was between the lobby and the bar, so was quite busy but we enjoyed people watching. I would come back and recommend this restaurant to others.
As usual a wonderful time at the NoMad, which has a wonderful ambience, in several spaces, the main dining room with glass roof and its cozy fireplace room, and the Library, which is cozy and restful. The staff are attentive and charming. The food is the perfect blend of authentically comforting with edgy takes on the traditional, with amazing attention to detail. Yesterday at breakfast, the side of avocado was incredibly perfect, flawless, beautifully cut and presented.
Superlative --and dependably so. It's dimly lit, with a central dining area that can be very noisy. Even so, The NoMad is one of NYC's very best restaurants.
Amazing food, excellent wait staff - a really thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Wonderful restaurant: great service, excellent food and everything perfect..!!!
We were given a terrible and uncomfortable table by the door where there was a lot of traffic. We went early and the restaurant was empty. They said it would take 20 minutes to be seated at a more comfortable table so we left and went to a great restaurant where we were treated To a beautiful dinner and service.
Excelente ambiente y trato, la comida excepcional!!!
Amazing place, fantastic food and excellent service... i will certainly be back and strongly recommend!!!
Literally, nothing better! The NoMaD is such a special place.
Very small pociones, mini chicken for $90
Thank you for a wonderful night. You made our 20th wedding anniversary very special!
Me and my husband where in NY for our anniversary and went to many great restaurants. We reserved for the very special night NoMad and I have to say that I was surprised of the disappointment. I had to say that even if I know is not Eleven Madison Park the number one restaurant in NY, I did expect a better culinary proposal for the same chef. Food was just OK, nothing special or outstanding. We order WHOLE-ROASTED FOR TWO: FOIE GRAS, BLACK TRUFFLE & BRIOCHE WITH POMME PURÉE & BABY LEEKS, and the chicken was cooked fine, but I couldn't taste neither the foie or truffles, and at the end it was just a juicy chicken breast.
For me as a cook and foodie, the food have to make you feel like you never tried something like that, transport you to a beautiful place, and the only thing beautiful there is the Hotel. Next time I will look more carefully of what is to have a special occasion in a special place. Is more about food than location, is more about passion that just a chef name that doesn't cook there.
Amazing spot with excellent service and beautiful decor. If you don’t get the chicken for two, you’re really missing out on an incredible meal, but everything we had was delicious. Looking forward to going back!
Outstanding meal-we both had the snapper and it was remarkable—as was the coconut dessert!
the french fries are amazing, hands down the best fries i've had for a while. yes, they are a bit pricey but well worth it! everything else we had for brunch was very good and service was excellent. highly recommended.
Superb food. Chicken for two - a MUST! A bit dark ambience for my taste, however food and service make up for it. Highly recommend!
I called twice to let them know that it was a very special occasion - my daughter’s 29th Birthday - came all the way from Japan to join her, but was totally disappointed when they couldn’t remember to put a candle on her dessert. Was told that the only thing we could do is to order a dessert and then they’d put a candle on it! Not happy that they didn’t remember this and spoiled the special occasion .
We visited the NoMad before a theatre performance and they accommodated our need to leave at a certain time. There was a small delay being seated but after about 15 minutes we were seated in the quieter side room (we asked for this). The hotel and restaurant are painted black - very dark like dracula's castle, but I liked the pressed botanicals used to decorate the restaurant. We enjoyed a lovely bottle of Montrachet - they had a large number on the wine list - and very good entrees. Mine was a take on a bouillabaisse - delicious with red snapper. My friends had the scallops. We also enjoyed the sun choke and tortellini appetizers. For the prices, I thought the portions were a little skimpy but everything was quite good.
Overall I was pretty disappointed with the experience because of the service. Food was very good, but also have definitely had better. The service was pretty poor and very non-attentive. When you go to the more expensive, high-end restaurants you expect the service to be spectacular. Our service was mediocre at best with a waiter we would need to find and flag down anytime we needed something.
Love, love this place. Always buzzing but hosts and staff friendly. Food fantastic. The chicken for two is a must have at some point in your culinary life!
Absolutely incredible, this team went above and beyond to make my sister's send off perfect!
It is a great place! The food is soooooo delicious and the service is awesome! They even got us a complimentary desert with a candle because it was my husband's birthday...
Fabulous! Everything was amazing! One of the best places to dine in NYC!
Wonder full staff
If you find yourself in NYC make your way to NoMad, either the bar or the restaurant it will not disappoint. If you are in the bar area go for the Humm Dog. If you are in the restaurant the suckling pig is a MUST.
Very nice atmosphere and environment
Great experience from the moment we were seated.
Everything we ordered—beet appetizer, cauliflower and duck entrees, milk & honey desert, and our cocktails—was impressive.
Our server, Alex, was very attentive, helpful and kind. I mentioned in my reservation that this was an anniversary, and she wished us a happy one as she first came over, then brought us an extra treat to make the evening a bit more special. We mentioned we were heading to a concert at MSG and they kept an eye on the time, to give us plenty of time to get there.
Thank you, NoMad, for a great start to our evening. We've already recommended you to friends, and we'll be back!
Truly outstanding service from dinner to retiring to the Library to have friends join. Beautiful space and delicious food. Great experience on all fronts. Highly recommend and will be back often.
All good. Setting is gorgeous. Wait staff was wonderfully informed and gave thoughtful suggestions. Really love this hidden gem.
The food was way overpriced. The wine list was very aggressive, that is, expensive.
We went to Nomad for an anniversary dinner. The room they seated us in and the table were very awkward. Did not feel like a special dinner because of the seating. Table did not have a tablecloth. Seemed too casual. I would not recommend the restaurant for a special occasion.
Nomad was a lovely way to celebrate my birthday. Perfectly portioned, well thought out dishes. Incredibly friendly and considerate service, and an amusing parade of the glitterati who are staying at the hotel itself. A very pleasant brunch.
Absolutely fantastic experience. They clearly understand hospitality to every minor detail. The attentiveness of the staff was exceptional and we felt warm and welcome throughout the entire experience. The food quality was exceptional with creative and elegant presentations. The wine list is outstanding (give yourself extra time to read through the "good book"... it's quite the tome). I cannot wait to return.
